lol at Kankuro, he acted like he didn’t care beyond not having to bear the responsibility of procreation…but he was excited for a new nephew all along wasn’t he!
Philsophical question of the day: if Gaara’s stress and Shinki’s stress compound on each other enough would that just cause a massive sandstorm that swallows the entire wind country?

Somewhere in the distance, a firework cracked, and fizzled. Pink flashed across their faces— then green. Blue. It glinted against the kazekage’s ceremonial jewelry, draped over white robes, and dazzling in its brightness. Beautiful. Gorgeous.

Another rainbow of colors flared over them. The sky snapped and crackled. Finally, Third nodded.

There are some things that Karura just knew. She knew that Suna would be commissioning war machines from Sasori well before he’s old enough to understand love. She knew that her brother would seek an explosive death when all the quiet methods have failed him. She knew it in the same way she knew that death would come for her in a stormy evening, with blood pooling on the hospital floor, and a scalpel hurriedly cutting through her belly. She knew it like she recognized a man she had not met, weeping in the dim corridor outside the operating room.

Karura was alive because of Sasori. He should be happy for her– for her husband and brother and children who all have her. So why does he feel so cold and alone instead?

Sasori peered into the operating suite from his spot on the bench. He could see Karura haloed by the overhead light, an oxygen mask hanging loosely on her neck. Rasa’s arms were wrapped around her, his forehead touching hers. Yashamaru holding her hand, wiping away the stream of tears rushing down his face. Another medic approached them, a squirming bundle in her hands.
Something stung his eyes. Perhaps some fumes from… one of the medicines he wasn’t familiar with. Likely. He turned his gaze up, blinking the tears away. Only, that made the tears fall faster and the lump in his throat grow tighter.
Per the interest check results, we will be running this bang the same way that we have run previous ones!
As interest is relatively low, the event will also be small. There will be two days with prompts, and one free day.
The theme of this year is “fate,” or “starbound ”. The date of this event takes place around the star festival in August (a Japanese holiday celebrated on the seventh during summer months).
No applications required, all Sasori’s are welcome :)
