It is a tradition on Sweden’s National Day (6th June) that the public are allowed to visit the Royal Palace without paying the entrance fee. To mark this tradition, a member of the royal family symbolically opens the door to the palace. This role is rotated amongst the family and this year Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will take it on. In the past children have sometimes joined this event so we may also see Estelle and Oscar. Excluding their virtual door opening in 2020, this will be the first time the duty has fallen to the Crown Princess and her family since 2013.

23rd May 2022 // The King and Crown Princess attended an Information Council meeting at the Royal Palace. During the council, each member presents an update on political initiatives, investigations and ongoing legislation within their respective ministries.

20th May 2022 // Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited Malmö. The visit began in the Hyllie district, where the Crown Princess Couple were given a tour of the area. Hyllie is Malmö’s largest development area with a strong focus on climate-smart solutions in energy, waste and mobility. The Crown Princess couple then visited the Court of Appeal over Skåne and Blekinge to celebrate their 200th anniversary.

18th May 2022 // The Swedish royal family gathered at the Royal Palace for an official farewell to mark the end of the Finnish State Visit

18th May 2022 // The City of Stockholm hosted an official lunch at City Hall to mark the Finnish State Visit. The event was attended by members of the royal family including the Crown Princess couple

17th May 2022 // Crown Princess Victoria at the State Banquet marking the visit from the Finnish President and First Lady. She wears the Napoleonic Cut Steel Tiara and the Collar of the Order of the White Rose, Grand Cross, which is Finland’s highest individual honour

17th May 2022 // Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel joined other members of the Swedish royal family for the State Banquet marking the visit from the Finnish President and First Lady. Victoria was awarded The Collar of the Order of the White Rose, Grand Cross, as part of the visit and is seen wearing it for the first time.

17th May 2022 // The King and Queen, Crown Princess couple, and Princely couple joined the President and First Lady of Finland for a welcome ceremony to start the State Visit from Finland. In a wonderful show of fashion diplomacy, Crown Princess Victoria wore a dress from Finnish brand Andiata and a brooch from Finnish jeweler Kirsti Doukas
