Pov you’re me at 12am and in a bout of insomnia you drew some worried men on your phone

here’s a recent commission for @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear- of the scarecrow from DC comics! it’s on a 6x8 inch flat hardboard panel that’s ¼th of an inch thick and has a thick glossy finish. I’m not actually familiar with the scarecrow on my own but they gave me excellent direction and plenty of inspo to work with! thank you again for the opportunity to do something a little different!

I’ve got a few things I’m currently working on that I owe people but feel free to hit me up for your own commission!

Drew this while listening to the Sea of Thieves soundtrack and… I think this track kinda fits Scarecrow?

He now doesn’t need a noose anymore! He has a multifunctional straw ponytail! Beware!

That’s it. The ponytail will stay!

I hate my marker drawing skills goddamn… way to clean, I miss my watercolor textures.

More Scarecrow content! I always forget to post here but I think this side needs more fanart…. because I always don‘t find that much fanart for the things I like.

Finally my last drawing for @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear‘s Scarecrow Week 2018! It was a prompt free day so…. have a Jonathan Crane playing trick or treat with the citizins of Gotham on Halloween.

Hey there! How do you-oh crap!! Hold your breath! NOW! ….oh well I guess it‘s already too late. You seemed to have breathed in Scarecrows fear toxin. Welcome to your worst nightmares. There‘s no use begging for mercy for he can be a heartless man.

Day 6 of @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear‘s Scarecrow Week 2018: „Heart of the Scarecrow“. I took it very literaly… and it turned out much more gory than planned. Sorry?

Scarecrow Week 2018 day 5: „The Devious Professor“. Thanks @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear for giving me this brilliant excuse to draw a bunch of Scarecrow stuff btw!

Since my version of Jonathan Crane is still teaching as a professor: here you go! Aaaand yes, he‘s using his students as test subjects. You know… release a little bit of fear toxin into the room and see what happens. So much fun. My Crane also uses some kind of self made aftershave. Which contains fear toxin as well. Not a strong one actually, but enough to make everyone feel anxious around him. Just because he likes to frighten people on a daily basis (not that he really needs it to be scary…).

I struggled with this one. Because I had no time. Because it didn‘t worked out as it should. Because it‘s impossible to make a decent photo of it (my phone doesn‘t like the contrasts and dark colors I don‘t know I‘m really mad!). Whatever….. hmpfh.

Wow, it’s already day 4 of @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear‘s Scarecrow Week 2018. Today we have „Crows, Ravens, and Corvids oh my“. My version of Jonathan has a few scars all over his body. And this is how it happened (I go with the Year One storyline for his background… it’s my personal canon background story for Jonathan (with a few changes and added things)).

The third day of @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear‘s Scarecrow Week 2018: „Scythes & Syringes“.

Day 2 of @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear‘s Scarecrow week 2018. The prompt was „Nightmares & Night Terrors“. And I think I have to explain this one. Hopefully you have some time for reading, this might get a little bit longer. :)

For this prompt I went for something called „Pavor nocturnus“. Night Terror.

First of all some facts (in case you don’t know this): Night Terror is a sleep disorder in which you suffer from feelings of terror and dread while asleep/„kind of awake“. Well, you are awake but you are unaware of your surrondings, feeling utterly terrified and you may even scream and cry. It can last up to 15 minutes, after that you fall asleep again and may not even remember anything the next morning. Night Terror is not a nightmare, it’s more similar to a panik attack. And it mostly occurs to children.

I suffered from night terror when I was younger for a long time. It only stopped when I was around 18. I just recently found out about what exactly was going on, I always thought I was having this weird, abstract, recurrent nightmare which always went the same:

I was dreaming about laying in my bed but suddenly I started to feel really uncomfortable. My sheets where no longer soft and nice, everything felt like it would crush me. And I started to panic, feeling fear up to the point of nausea. Then I woke up - and I don‘t. I was awake but I was not. I was often crying, running around in my room completely disorientated, I remember that one time I even said things like „No, make it stop, help me, please“. I kind of didn‘t recognise where I was, even though I knew it was my room (it‘s really hard to explain). I wasn’t able to „recognise“ my parents or react to anything they did or said. And then it eventually stopped. I was either going back to bed and fell asleep again or I would sit or stand somewhere, still crying and would try to calm down and hold onto my new found grip of reality. It was intense. And I think this may kind of resembles the feeling of fear toxin…

It tried to draw my night terror. Unfortunately it‘s nearly impossible. But oh well. It‘s my version of Crane again (unmasked this time), it will be my version for all the prompts btw. :)

Do you think in Gotham, that kids would watch videos of Jonathan Crane doing science experiments the same way we used to watch videos of  Bill Nye the Science Guy? Like, maybe he gets a short sentence in Arkham if he makes child friendly videos about science?

I feel like it’s a novel idea.
