Jurassic OCs Weekly
Hi guys! If any of you have been following me at all, you’ll probably know that I have an unhealthy obsession with Jurassic Park/World. With that comes my oc.
But we’re not here to talk about my ocs. We’re here to talk about other’s Jurassic Park/World ocs.
Once a week, I will be picking somebodies Jurassic OC and giving them a little shoutout, making a poster, a gifset, something. Linking their fic and maybe reading it if I’ve got time.
We’re here to hype the Jurassic ocs! (the dino is your ocs, I’m Alan and Ellie)
Week 1: Reese Masrani by @randomestfandoms-ocs
three romanian authors to read with ur dracula daily
dracula is an orientalist text conceived at the height of british empire, grounded in distortions of a region that stoker never visited. sadly (and unsurprisingly) i found very few romanian authors who have been translated into english online, so here’s a meagre list of recs:1. luminița cioabă
romanian roma author, famous in romania as the daughter of bulibasha (the king of the roma nation), she forged her own path as a writer of short stories in the oral roma tradition which portray in vivid detail the history of the roma people of romania
2. marin sorescu
from humble rural romanian roots, he wrote under the oppressive ceausescu government. in a national ironic tradition he very famously said: "Just as I can’t give up smoking because I don’t smoke, I can’t give up writing because I have no talent.“ some of my favorite poems:
- the sea shell (1983)
- carbon paper (1980)
- creation (1992)
3. paul celan
jewish romanian poet from bucovina. i recommend this beautiful essay by ilya kaminsky, who like celan was forced to flee eastern europe due to antisemitism, deconstructing various translators’ attempts to adapt celan’s texts and experience of the holocaust. these are all poems from a 1971 poetry collection
you should initiate a conversation with that cool mutual you never talk to. im not going to but everyone else should
You know what I want? A transgender store.
It has “traditional men’s,” “traditional women’s,” and “whatever” clothes sections. There are posters converting men’s and women’s clothing sizes. Each stack of clothing item has both sizing systems on it. They carry a wider range of sizes than usual, with lots of extra small clothes in the “traditional men’s” section and extra large/extra tall clothes in the “traditional women’s” section. They have shoes in all sizes. The dressing rooms are gender neutral. There are binders, gaffes, breast forms, and packers, with leaflets on how to use them. There’s a section with makeup and jewelry. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There’s a stack of handouts with transgender resources that people can take home for free. There are bookshelves with transgender books you can buy, as well as a small library. No one is gendered, and people can buy whatever they want without judgement.
The world needs this.

The AO3 Tag of the Day is: My ADHD uses your sticky notes to make rotationally symmetric paper snowflakes
I honestly don’t know if this has been done before but…
I tried to curate all of the important dates in Inuyasha fandom. Mostly are celebration events for pairings and families that are canon per Rumiko Takahashi (appear or mentioned in the animanga), held both on tumblr and twitter, but I also put some rare pair/crack ship events in it. I was hoping that by collecting it all in one place, then we could have a one big timeline for (nearly) all our weekly or monthly events So it would be easier for artists and authors to track which event they wanted to participate in or maybe it could be used to just simply keeping up with their schedules, because after writing it all down I’ve realized that our fandom’s agenda are packed
Some of the events I wrote already have fixed dates for this year’s celebration, but there are others that haven’t as well. For those with no specific date yet, I put the estimation when will it be held e.g. mid September, end October, etc., based on its last year’s schedule.
So, without further ado, here is the timeline based on what I’ve managed to gathered:
Weird idea but, what if (echo has already joined at this point, timeline doesnt really matter) the bad batchers get in a bad argument, could literally be anyone I dont think it truly matters who, and one of them go to Echo to complain about their brothers and how bad of a brother they’re being (etc.) and maybe they say something they don’t truly mean and Echo just looks at them and tells them to never take their brothers or their batch for granted because you never know when they’ll be ripped away from you.
maybe they get to hear about Echos original batch (idk) and how often they didn’t get along and how even though they always argued and fought, literally in some cases, how he still misses them dearly and longs to just see Fives one last time, fight with Hevy, tease Droidbait, or hear Cutups stupid accent and jokes. and that the batchers are lucky to still have each and everyone of their batchers even if they’re annnoying or hard to get along with sometimes.
Let my man properly mourn his fallen brothers, please.
He has been through a lot
Tbh I think there should be a Chopped tournament solely consisting of past contestants who have cut themselves and gone home
chopped: literally
Trying to rec BlackDark fic writers on a list… as many as possible, to possibly start a list of dark! fic writers who are black. If you know any or are one yourself reply to this post or DM me.
Two questions I need answered to fill out the list:
1. Whatthemes/tropes do you tackle in your dark fics? (examples: domestic violence, possessive behavior, gaslighting, bdsm, etc.)
2. Whatcharacters do you write dark versions of? (examples: Steve Rogers, Bruce Wayne, etc)
If this list comes to fruition, I will gather consent from everyone before rec’ing. I won’t rec anyone who doesn’t wish it.
Tagging every black dark fic writer I know (you can ignore me if you want) to either answer those questions themselves, if they want to be listed, or shout out authors they know:
@syntheticavenger@cherienymphe@boxofbonesfic@viva-asgardia@xsapphirescrollsx@jamalflanagan @angrythingstarlight @awesomerextyphoon@rustytricycle@queenoftheworldisdead@avintagekiss24@hauntedelation@gothgirlmahi @thedarkplume
Thanks for thinking of me!
1) I don’t write a lot of dark fic, but when I do, themes are usually non-con/dub con, kidnapping, heavy manipulation, BDSM dynamics, a little bit of stalking, degradation
2) I’ve written dark versions of Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes and Andy Barber. I just started writing for Steve Kemp who is just a canon dark freak lol
Just had the thought that “Pop ‘er in reverse” has very big “What if we Dimension Door inside the dragon” energy and I really hope that at least one person out there understands what I mean here
