After getting our 1yo down my 3yo was resisting going to sleep and asked me to wear her to down. I was already frustrated and generally over the bedtime cuddling and ready for some kid free time but as she pleaded I was reminded that she might not ask for me forever…and if she does then I’ll probably come running. Learning to find a balance between having both of our needs met is endless, I’m learning to just trust my compass.

Selah turned two-years-old on Thursday and today we got to celebrate with some of her friends and family! It rained right as we were trying to do cupcakes, we made it work :) Similar to how we were unable to get her normal birthday pictures, so this one in front of the mural @samficco made will have to do.

✨ Selah is a music and dance kind of girl. Always wants it playing, and if she hears it, the dancing starts. She surprises us constantly when she sings along and actually knows the words.
✨ Even though we had a rough start back in January, Selah LOVES daycare. She is in her element as a social butterfly and getting everyone onboard with whatever activity her teacher has planned.
✨ Some of our favorite Selah sayings are “Yeah Sure” “oh sorry” “Cucker (Tucker) STOP!” “Chocolate chip” and just her casual “yeah” to complicated questions, and somehow she really does know what you were asking.
✨She is a fan of putting her toys and anyone with her asleep and then loudly yelling “Wake up!”
✨She makes observations of birds (she will shout out the type to you), bunnies, kitties and doggies, and enjoys doing it the most from her seat on Kevin’s bike.

This girl is funny (and she knows it), smart, quick with it, and is always coming up with a plan. Big Feelings of Two have arrived for this girl, but I wouldn’t choose any other toddler to learn the roller coaster of emotions with. We love you so much, Selah-boo!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Asked a very nice lady for a proof of mom picture last night and she very happily took my phone and said, “oh I will take a million.” She didn’t disappoint.

Our travel plans changed for thanksgiving with the passing of my Aunt last week. Kevin was at a training in Newark this Wednesday and Thursday, so he took the train down to DC last night, and I solo’d getting Selah and I packed for a week and then last night toted a very excited 2-year-old through two airports well after bedtime. My thought process: “We can do this.” “We’re doing this.” “We did THAT.”
