Izuku gasps excitedly, touching the ice with reverence. “Kacchan’s quirk,” he murmurs in awe. “You even preserved it so prettily. You’re amazing, Shoucchan. You always bring back the best presents.”
I just imagined Shoto picking up affectionate phrases from people and casually using them on Izuku. But he’s confused as to why Izuku reacts differently to it compared to when their friends use it with Izuku.

Izuku: *does something reckless*
Ochako: *sighs* Deku-kun, I love you, but why are you like this
Izuku: *laughs sheepishly*
Shoto: *overhears the conversation*
Later…
Izuku: *does sth reckless again*
Shoto: Midoriya, I love you, but you’re too reckless
Izuku: I-I… T-Todoroki-kun d-did you just– you just– I’m ajbsjd *hyperventilates*
Shoto: Midoriya, are you okay? Did I use the expression wrong?
(Or maybe Shoto is perfectly aware of what the affectionate phrases do to Izuku and does this on purpose to see Izuku so flustered. If Izuku is gonna be oblivious even to his blatant advances, then maybe Shoto will just have to fluster him into realising his intentions.)
