no because kurogiri n tomura’s relationship means so much to me i always think about it too much im gonna repost my rant on them because there’s so much potential n it makes me sob to think of them

my interpretation of their relationship starts off as veryreluctant co-dependence/existence for tomura, with more obligatory effort on kurogiri’s part because he was createdpurely to look after tomura. 

it’s really important to me to consider that tomura was not always fond of kurogiri. i really feel like, actually, he held some resentment for him at first; this is something that spawned in response to tomura’s heavy attachment to afo, because he’s the man that saved him — not kurogiri, who he’s been shoved off on because afo is too busy to look after him himself. (i do think there is a neglection factor in this as well as attachment issues in general on tomura’s part, but i feel like that’s another post)

whoever popularized the concept of “simp tomura”… when i find u im going to make u suffer

i fucking hate fanon interpretation of tomura so much. u either get people who think he’s a major pushover/ “uwu” or genuinely evil (typically depicted as abusive).

i only ever see him written as a “simp” (i am using quotations because again. you nonblack people don’t even fucking know what a simpis lmao) when people are obviously self-projecting. and i don’t have an issue with projecting or w/e cuz that would be very hypocritical of me, but they fr butcher his entire character.

nothingabout shigaraki tomura spells out pushover. he’s literally vicious as hell and he always goes after what he wants. it’s not that i think he can’t get flustered, he definitely can, but y’all reduce him to this single trait and it’s so inconsistent from everything he’s shown. 

even from the start of the series when he was still described prominently as bratty, he’s never settled for less than want he wants. it makes him combative, he refuses to work with people he doesn’t like. and he later gets repeatedly put in situations where he refuses to bend over: disagreeing with stain, his refusal to let overhaul take control of hisleague. he literally takes out the liberation army just for fucking with him and the people he cares about. whatabout that spells pushover?

it’s true that he’s willing to go above and beyond for the people he cares about, but that’s not at all synonymous with being a simp. he’s just a genuinely kind person tf. he has a backbone and he’s incredibly stubborn.

i already complained about this so much over discord, but if there’s any character that actually qualifies as a “simp” it’d be spinner. (i feel like i don’t have to elaborate on this but if anyone wants me to feel free to ask)

and i know i’m dragging my rant, but typicallythis mischaracterization goes in tangent with other annoying shit. the most prominent being top/bottom shit (and occasional trans tomura content) with dabi usually depicted as big n aggressive. or, in the case, of mirushig/dustbunny content tomura is always characterized as smaller/more submissive while begging for miruko to “step on him” etc etc  wow… wonder what’s up with that? /sarcasm
