Overall the con was a blast as usual, met up with way more people than I can mention in one post. I know I have a few business cards I have to dig up for tags, but if you know anyone in these pics please let me know who they are so I can give them credit :)

Animal ear Mini Tutorial

So for a while RoseSpirit has been using the headband on top with the small folded over ears. They’re cute, but there’s a problem - headband + wig + glasses can lead to a really bad headache fairly quickly.

We can fix that though, by making a nice set of ears that clip directly into the wig instead.

• First off, you’ll need to pattern out the ears, I’d recommend doing this a few times until you get just the right shape that you want.
• Cut the pattern out in foam and cut out a little base for the ears as well
• Use hot glue to assemble the foam
• Cut out fur - you’ll want one piece to be larger than the other and overall for it to be a bit bigger than the foam to account for seam allowance
  
• Stitch the pieces together as close to the edge as possible
• Trim your fur down if its too long
• Place the covers on the ears, then using hot glue secure all the edges
• Cut out and glue down a tuft to cover the foam base
• Glue in hair clips of your choice

And then you’re done! Personally I prefer these greatly to any sort of headband, not just for the headache factor, but I feel like they have more depth to them and helps make them look a bit more real.

Last set of this costume as I put it into retirement, was a blast to wear, if very tiring.
