Unintentional devastation zig caused by the architectural collapse of architecture that is nevertheless conscious of itself as architecture. We might even go as far as to hypothesise that this ziggurat is in fact a form of protest: shite vernacularism emancipating itself by elevating itself to the ineffable abstraction of the zig through its own decay. Thank you, wall behind Iceland.

Adventures in vernacular logo design: but what does it mean? Where does it go? What does it stand for? Bathrooms? Kebabs? Estate agents? Fashion? Italian shoes? Upside-down beer cans floating mid-air on the anthracite wall? Classic zig-stupefaction in Peckham, SE London.

Jade Doskow has been watching this house change over the last 8 years from somewhat falling apart to completely becoming enveloped in these green vines. It is one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood of Red Hook, Brooklyn, and underneath the weeds features Victorian wooden detailing and is actually quite quaint. The woman who owns this building refuses to sell it, as her husband passed away in it years ago. It retains an aura of great mystery and a sublime beauty, as it slowly falls apart and becomes one with the earth.

Lobster Cars

Floating in still waters in the harbors of Maine, the lobster cars stand sentinel in the quiet moments between twilight and the coming darkness. Their shapes and lines recalled the ice fishing houses of Chris Becker’s childhood in Minnesota.
