Scrooge: So, since I’m Webby’s father, and you’ve essentially been her mother all these years, and with all our history…should we get married?

Beakley: Absolutely fucking not.

Scrooge: …as I expected.

Webby: (scandalized) You cursed!

Goldie: *angry noises in crowd*

Scrooge: Ah, knew that’d draw her out! How’re you doin’, Goldie-girl?

Goldie: …wait, you’re Webby’s what now?

I know everyone loved the moment Scrooge went all protective dad mode on Webby, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact he deadass ditched Webby in a swamp to go find youth juice with Goldie.

He third wheeled Webby, who had back pain and a swollen eye. Would he have done the same had he known the truth?

Let’s dissect that.

Scrooge is selfish, no doubt about that. But it rubbed me the wrong way that he only cared about Webby’s safety to the extent of wanting to baby her and put her in a life jacket when he knew she was his daughter. Why didn’t the other kids, including May and June, get that treatment?

It’s really upsetting. It just shows that a biologic daughter (his favorite biologic daughter) is more important than even his biologic nephews.

The lifevest moment is cute and sweet if you just look at it, but if just stop to give it a thought and look at the characters as a whole… Is it right? Should this situation really be happening? With them, right now?

I see your points and they’re valid…tbh, I’m not sure if Scrooge would have cheerfully left his kid behind in the Foreverglades, then had an, “Oh, shit” moment and gone back once sense caught up to him. I had a different interpretation of the life vest moment, though…I do need to watch the finale again when initial reactions are past and I can analyze it…but I saw it as him thinking “wait how do I dad” and he defaulted to things he’d seen Donald do. Granted, the boys were still left out, but that’s just my $.02 worth on that bit.

Can somebody who understands how cloning actually works tell me what kind of relation Webby has with Scrooge?

Wouldn’t that make Webby Scrooge’s identical twin or something?

I need someone to lay down the facts to me.

Because we know Webby and Scrooge share genetic similarities and she was a by product of a cloning this actually means…

blankity blankity blank

Okay so theoretically speaking, by cloning you get two exact copies of dna, so yeah technically genetic twins.

(However you start with an embryo, since as far as I know, you can’t create a whole adult being out of nowhere. Of course, when it comes to any creature, there’s more factors apart from dna that determines the character or the features of an individual, so it’s not unusual for clones to look or behave different.)

What I don’t understand is that we’ve had several cases of cloning in the series before but none of them followed this, so by in-world logic, Webby and Scrooge should be identical twins just like all the other ones.

My pet theory of the moment is that Black Heron hadn’t perfected cloning juuuust yet, so rather than making a full clone, she literally created the heir with perhaps a cloned (blank) egg and Scrooge as the paternal DNA. Which means Webby would have a biological mother…leaving a lot of fun possibilities open for who that donor might be, anyone from a completely random anonymous duck to someone significant.

Look, we’ve had a McDuck-22 and a McDuck-Webby adventure, it’s only fair we come full circle and get a Webby-22 team up.

Synopsis: “A alternative story where Gene the Genie ends up being found by Webby and the Triples by accident because of Della Duck’s past actions.”

I’ve been thinking about this AU idea ever since Season 3 came out. I want a legit reason as to why Gene wasn’t in the original lamp from ‘Treasure of the Found Lamp!’ (S2E8), and to give it a story arc that could still connect with the series timeline and potential character development. Hope you enjoy! :)

(Clickthe link if you’d like to read the short story premise )

Short for a Ducktales AU (TeapotGenieAU):

Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby “volunteer” to help Della Duck with spring cleaning her old room at McDuck Manor. While searching through boxes of Della’s childhood memorabilia, Webby discovers a lone dusty ceramic teapot amongst the junk and gushes about having always wanting to own one herself. Della let’s her keep it as a gift (and to also help dissuade her from taking anything else). Excited to actually own something pre-owned by Della Duck herself, Webby goes off to clean up her newest treasure. It’s at this point that Webby and the triplets are introduced to Gene the Genie, who had layed dormant inside the teapot all along.

They find out Gene HAD original resided inside the ancient lamp (that once occupied a space in the garage), but was then wished into the plain toy set ceramic teapot by his last master. This wish had been done as a protection for Gene from potential thieves, the fear of Merlock returning, and to hide his existence from rest of the McDuck family. The person who made that particular wish was none other then Della Duck, back when she was just a kid.

Having found Gene all those years ago by accident, Della become fast friends with the Genie and had the time of her life with her childish wishes (this is where I think Della would have wished for her very own pilots outfit). All of this is unbeknownst to the rest of the McDuck Manor’s household.

However, after an incident befalls the household that results in Della thinking the teapot was destroyed in the chaos (along with Gene), a previous misplacing of the teapot results in the survival of Gene and his confinement, but at the cost of him becoming trapped, alone and subsequently forgotten for years in McDuck Manor’s deep storage…until he was freed by Webby.

I’d like to think Gene and (adult) Della do meet up at some point and air out some much needed mixed past emotions. There would defiantly be a lot to talk about, with Gene being trapped in the teapot and Della being trapped on the moon for years. This may even leading them to realise they can relate to each other circumstance and give the needed help and comfort that the other needs with the help of their past isolation experiences.

And from there, you can still have ‘Quack Pack!’ (S3E2) a little later in the series, with Donald finding the teapot by accident in the Manor.

That’s gist of it! I don’t think I’ll get round to making a comic on this AU (sadly), but I thought I’d share my version for this alternate story to all you creative DT fans. I look forward to seeing what people come up with :)

More ducks. Always more ducks.
