#wiccan altar

When we moved from New York to Washington all of my altar tools had to be left behind. With moving, pandemics, and life…I just didn’t get around to making one.

This past week I was able to obtain everything seen in the photos above to create a new altar space that feels like home to me. Of course I miss some of those most special objects, and hope to get them back some day soon. But for now…this set up will give me a space to exist and participate in my craft.

All said and done this set up cost less than $130 (though I did splurge on one extras you could easily skip on and do it for less than $100)

The altar/table is an end table we found at a thrift store for $2.99

The altar cloth and pendulum came from a tarot starter pack on amazon linked here for $13.99 (this is one of those bigger purchases you can skip if you are tight on cash)

The candles all came from the dollar store. My Lady and Lord candles were sold separately. Each element candle come in a 4 pack….they didn’t have green for north but that is fine for now. All together it was $6.00 on candles from the dollar tree.

The votive candle holders came in a 4 pack…I bought two from dollar tree so it was $2.00 total

Dishes. The dish with the salt, sage, and the one for water cane in. 4 pack for $1…the black bowl for full moon scrying was also $1 from dollar tree

The stones all came from a pack I bought on amazon for only $10.99 found here. They are great quality and came with all stones pictured. For someone just staring out with crystal magick I highly recommend this purchase! (This is another bigger purchase that you may not want to explore in your craft, i just happen to love crystals)

The inscence holder was also from amazon. It is gorgeous and was only $6.99 I adore this piece which you can find linked here. (My dollar tree has another burner for $1 as do many witchcraft shops / head shops if this is not something you are interested in or if you prefer the classic wooden holders)

I also ordered a pack of incense. They were only $9.45 and came with a large variety of scents. These aren’t my favorite incense…the nag champs ones smell amazing but the rest don’t have the same impact. They also burn quickly and leaves reaidue. However, they are still decent quality and if you are interested you can find them here. I much prefer the brand I usually find in local witchcraft shops or head shops (I believe they are callled Wild Berry) but I haven’t been to a magick shop in a few months and needed to stock up!

I already had the dried flowers, salt, seashell and sage. You can get shells for $1 and salt for $1 at the dollar store. You can find any sort of plant or flower or leaf free outside. You can buy white sage on amazon here for $7.69 and it comes with a bracelet!!

You do not need all of these things to be a Wiccan or a witch. You may also wish to acquire even more things.

I just wanted to share our new altar set up, and share how we were able to do it on a budget! You all know how much I love savings and deals!!
