LIVE

I’m sure you all know what this scene is. There are going to be some major differences for this season that I have plan for sure when I get to it. It’s pretty obvious by now that Bast is going to be there instead of Tea. But it would make more sense because Catzi’s soul has been taken along with Yugi’s. Also, this will focus more on these two relationship. I will say this as a bit of a spoiler…Atem does end up putting his relationship with Bast in jeporady. What do I mean? He ends up yelling at her and blaming her that Yugi and Catzi’s souls were taken, even though it was his fault. I know. It sounds harsh but hey, it’s honestly to also show that these two are still human even if they are spirits. And the fact their relationship is not perfect in anyway. Not to mention, Atem is hurting big time. I can see him being the type to lash out if he is feeling stressed or having a close friend being taken away due to his mistakes. Eventually, he and Bast will make up. Aah I feel so bad for these two. T-T

I know I said I would stop posting, but I decided to try something. I recently drew this up and I figured I show you all how my pictures are going to look from now on. It’s time I step up my game of keeping my art safer. I know this isn’t going to stop the art thieves but it will make it a lot harder for them use it. On a side note, yes I thought I draw up Atem with his hair in a ponytail. Let me just say that I really love the look of it. He certainly looks hot I must say. :3 I know a certain wife of his will like him with this new look. Hehehehehehehe…

Soooo… don’t mind me but I thought I post Marik and Malik aka Yami Marik today. Hahahahahaha this is really just to a side AU if Malik had been redeemed. Which is why he looks so annoyed but seriously though, he would be the opposite of Marik. While Marik is a sweet kind boy, Malik would be rude and blunt. Though deep down he does care about those close to him even if he won’t really show it. He and Marik still share the same body. and Malik enjoys getting on Marik’s nerves.

I do not put it past Kaiba to go to social functions wearing heels so that he absolutely towers of at least a head above everyone else in the room to establish his complete dominance

silverrandomnesswolfpony:

yugioh-thoughts:

Yugioh AU where everyone loses their voice once a month or so because they do nothing but shout at another person standing twenty meters from them and that can’t be good for your throat

“How are you supposed to run Kaiba-corp if you keep losing your voice big bro?” Mokuba Kaiba scolded his older brother because he didn’t take care of himself, again. “You need to stop yelling all the time.”

“How am I supposed to play card games against Yugi if I can’t yell dramatically when I summon my dragons?!” Seto croaked, his hoarse voice making him sound more pubescent than usual.

“Use speakers or something Seto. It’s not that hard to add on a mic or connect a headset onto the duel disks right?”

Seto eyelids fluttered in shock. Why didn’t he just add a headset with the duel disks in the first place?

“It’s not, but that would require recalling all the duel disks Kaiba-corp has sold and replacing them. That would put the company in a bad place Mokuba.” The older Kaiba thought out loud.

“Then why don’t we just make newer, better duel disks that everyone would want to buy?”

The room was silent.

“Mokuba.”

“Yeah Seto?”

“You know what to do.” He gave Mokuba a small smile as the younger Kaiba brother ran out of the other’s office with his idea in mind.

Well this makes sense lol

Ryou Bakura would 100% use his oujia board to sext with a supernatural entity and this is a fact

Children yelling: “MCDONALDS! MCDONALDS! MCDONALDS!”

“We have food at home”: Atem, Yusei

*pulls into drive through while children cheer* *orders one black coffee and leaves*: Astral, Yusaku

“McDonalds! McDonalds! McDonalds!”: Yugi, Judai, Yuma, Yuya

Ryou was extremely calm and collected in how he dealt with the asshole ghost occasionally possessing him but like there’s the fact Ryou is shown as playing GM in rpgs and like after a certain times of having his carefully created plots being messed up thanks to nat 20s and shenanigans and people seducing goblins I feel having his day schedule wrecked by the Spirit was only a minor annoyance for him

In regard to Seto being likely the youngest one out of the main cast can I propose everyone else being an absolute ass to him like

Seto: does something Extra
Yami: please child calm down

Jounouchi: when I was your age-
Seto: you were a fucking loser
Jounouchi: respect your elders young man

Anzu: pinches Seto cheeks
Anzu: aren’t you just a cute child
Seto: I will sue you

This is kind of a personal theory that idk how accurate but back when I was watching Battle City I felt like Marik’s change in character was extremely quick, I mean sure it makes sense that with the whole Yami Marik thing he would have turned good, but his behavior was just too different from me (like, from that moment on he doesn’t have many appearances but he seems the picture of a good and mature person, when before he was a crime overlord). So I was thinking, could it be that Marik and Yami Marik aren’t the only two people there?

I’m not an expert in DID so I might be wrong, but from what I know it’s like normal for people to have more than two alters, so it could be possible that in their case there is Yami Marik, a “mean” Marik and a “good” Marik. It’s possible the “mean” Marik fronted most of the time and the “good” Marik couldn’t do much about it. If no one, including Marik, knew he had alters other people like Rishid might have thought they were the same person and the “good” Marik was a moment of weakness, and the “mean” Marik might have thought so as well once he fronted again.

When Yami Marik tries to get rid of his host we only see one other person being bound, but it could be they were all lumped together. After all, it’s possible Yami Marik wasn’t aware there were more than two alters, he was in a weakened state after all. Or maybe he just didn’t care how many other people there were, he simply wanted to be the sole user of their body. And then after the duel the “good” Marik took control rather than the “mean” one for whatever reason.

Battle City AU: Yami Marik comes out and hurts Mai. At the end of the duel Jounouchi goes and punches him so hard Yami Marik is ejected from this plane of reality and goes straight to the Shadow Realm. Mai wakes up and feels fine. Marik tells his sister he is very sorry for everything he did while he gets his face medicated. Jounouchi becomes the rightful owner of Ra because maybe it wasn’t in a duel but he still fucking beat Marik

yugioh-thoughts:

Theory: the reason only a few people like Yugi had really weird hair in DM but virtually everyone’s hair looks absurd in more recent series is because dueling is somehow messing with people’s DNA

Dunno where I’m going with this but consider it

Ok I remembered this and think about it:

- in DM, basically all of the main cast except from Yugi and Atem had reasonable hair. Most people were also born before Pegasus created the card game. We can assume the genes for Weird Hair Fuckery (WHF) were already in the gene pool but they were relatively contained. Like other than the two of them? Ryou/Yami Bakura had white hair, which is weird but could also be seen as an extremely light blonde or some lack of pigmentation, same could go for Pegasus, but other than some secondary characters like Haga most people had hair that fell within the normal human color range. Maybe with a lot of product in it but normal

- GX is just a decade after DM, I think, which means that while the card game still isn’t as big as it is in other spin offs, it’s already a pretty big part of life. Now, if we go by this timeline and assume the card game was created 17 years before GX started, we can say that maybe the youngest members of the cast would be born one or two years after that. Now, GX still had a not that weird hair situation - I think the number of people with unexplainable hair is a bit higher, but on the top of my mind I can name the Marufuji brothers, Saiou and his sister (which had also weird powers which could have raised the risk of strange DNA stuff), Edo (again with the white hair), Johan and Fujiwara. Of course there are others but so far it doesn’t seem like things got significantly weirder than they were in DM, especially if you consider a few of these people were related so they probably just landed in a family with the WHF gene

- now, 5D’s. That one is set just a few decades after DM, let’s say about forty years. In this time the card game as reached a huge level of popularity, and people were born when it was already around. Hell, for all we know, it’s possible some of them had parents who are younger than the card game. So, we know Yusei’s hair shape is genetic since it’s like his fathers, possibly Jack’s too if his hair was all standing up like that as a kid, then we have the twins, white hair Kiriyu, Bruno, even Aki’s hair can only borderline be considered red and not purple.  I’d say at this point the ratio of WHF vs human hair is about 50:50, anyway it’s higher than it was in the previous series

- Zexal, probably Arc V (although who knows just how far in the timeline Arc V is) and Vrains seem to be settles in a somewhat far future, further on than 5d’s for sure. Maybe a hundred years after DM or a little less? Anyway, at this point Duel Monsters is everywhere, and multiple generations have been born after it was created. And the WHF is, everywhere. It’s faster to count the people who have normal hair color/shape than those who don’t

Considering Duel Monsters has all sorts of supernatural properties, to say it also influences people’s DNA is not impossible. And well it would be weird if it only influenced specific genes I think, but considering it’s magic and not like, radiation, it could follow its own rules (plus, this is based solely on phenotype, we don’t know if these people’s bodies have other weird properties).

It could be possible that a prolonged exposure could cause mutations in people’s DNA, which could perhaps be harder to notice on adults (if you have an adult human being, and their hair genes mutate, I’d expect it’d take time for the “new” hair to grow and replace the “old”), but easily spotted on children who inherited the mutated genes, or had their own genes mutated while they were developing. And these people’s children would have a higher chance of getting their parents’ mutated genes.

Now, I’d say logically people would have to be either playing the game intensely, or be very close to someone who is playing for the mutations to happen, and given how popular the game became it’s not hard at all. It is also a possibility that all the duels being played together with Duel Monsters apparently being able to bend dimensions and spacetime and stuff that its prolonged use to such a large scale might be altering reality itself and influencing people, but who knows how would that happen

- intern whose job is to do the President’s homework when he doesn’t want to. The Vice President must not find out of this. Every week the intern who holds this position changes so to maximize the chances the Vice President doesn’t find out

- intern whose job is to do the Vice President’s homework when he doesn’t want to. The President must not find out of this. Every week the intern who holds this position changes so to maximize the chances the President doesn’t find out

- the occasional terribly unlucky intern who gets both the President’s and the Vice President’s homework because the two pick random interns to do it and sometimes it all ends up on the same poor soul

nyami-rose:

So, I’ve been thinking about Malik’s past for character analysis reasons lately, and I’ve come to the conclusion that Malik is actually, like….super, super fucking unhealthy.

I’m no medical expert, but I fucking love health and anatomy. After a lot research, and even picking the brains of some of my own doctors, I’ve determined it is likely Malik has sleep disorders, various vitamin deficiencies, and frankly, is very lucky to not have died as a child.

Everyone needs sunlight. Vitamin D is produced by the body in response to your skin being exposed to sunlight, and it is very important for your body.

Having been in the tombs until his teenage years, Malik would obviously not have gotten much sunlight. Even with the skylights/shafts we see in the manga and anime, it’s not enough sunlight to survive on. The average American does not get enough sunlight/vitamin D even accounting for our obsession with Pokemon Go, so it’s unlikely that Malik would have enough when he is literally trapped in an underground cult.

So let’s talk about underground cults! As it just so happens, back in 2012, an underground cult was found by Russian Police in the Republic of Tatarstan. For those of you wondering if I just made that place up because, yes, I realize it sounds like a fictional area named after tarter sauce… It exists [Source], I promise.

Even better, Slate and Earthwire writer Brian Palmer practically did all the research for me about children who live without seeing the sun for most of their lives. So rather than reword his research and risk plagiarism, here’s some quotes:

“Children are more vulnerable than adults to vitamin D deficiency, making death from darkness somewhat more plausible. The most obvious risk is rickets, a disease that results in malformed bones and teeth. In its extreme forms, the grisly disease can lead to other health issues like breathing irregularities and cardiovascular problems.”

“Sunlight helps trigger the body’s daily cycle of serotonin, for example. If that production cycle becomes irregular, you can suffer problems with sleep and mood.”

“Some pediatric researchers believe that rickets might be a factor in some cases of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.”

[Source]

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is controversial in that no one really knows the exact cause. Sometimes children just… die. Randomly. Suddenly. If vitamin D deficiencies and/or rickets really is the cause, Malik dodged a medical bullet.

Now, vitamin D deficiencies are caused by two other factors besides lack of sunlight:

  1. Vegan diets
  2. Dark skin

Malik obviously has darker skin, which is a risk factor for vitamin D deficiency right off the bat. Now, no one but our Lord and Savior Kazuki Takahashi can confirm Malik’s dietary choices, but he made it clear in The Gospel of Truth that Malik hates “meat in general” [Source], so it’s likely he’s either vegetarian, which would be okay for him, or vegan… in which case he is killing himself.

See, vitamin D is not just found in sunlight. It is also found in [some] fish, fish liver oils, egg yolks, fortified dairy and grain products. All of those, with exception of grain, are banned from a vegan diet. Combined with a lack of vitamin D from right of the womb, if he has a elected to be vegan, it’s likely he has soft, even brittle bones. So next time you write Ryou Bakura as a weakling, remember it’s possible that Malik that can’t throw a punch without his radius and ulna shattering.

Malik would also possibly have asthma as child, and given the extreme circumstances of his case, it could last well into adulthood. Vitamin D deficiencies can also be responsible for various cancers.

[Source]

Honestly? There are so many points I have skimmed over due to lack of accessible evidence, but I’d like to mention that because of his sudden, prolonged exposure to sunlight coming out of the tombs for the first time, he may have damaged his sight permanently. In fact, his eyesight could deteriorate slowly but steadily for the rest of his life. He could develop cataracts early in his life as well. But that’s according to my personal optometrist, and Google wasn’t helping me find reliable articles on the subject, so…

By the way, this would apply to Isis and Rishid too. Just focusing on Malik cause he’s the one I’m profiling right now.

And that concludes my depressing contribution to this fandom.

Since I made a post about Marik’s possible health problems due to vitamin D deficiency, I was pointed out this post that covers what issues he would realistically have if he indeed didn’t have access to proper sunlight/supplements. I think it’s pretty interesting and by god I hope this boy eats his fish

yugioh-thoughts:

But if Marik wasn’t allowed to leave the tombs as a kid and I can’t really remember those places allowing a lot of natural sunlight to come in shouldn’t he have suffered from some terrible lack of vitamin D

Isis and Rishid couldn’t really go around a lot either but maybe they could go every once in a while Marik instead had to stay in near darkness most of the time

Lack of vitamin D in kids means your bones don’t form correctly so in the future Marik could have ended up with a lot of issues because of that

There had to have been some sort of trade going on between the Ishtars and the outside world, so my only theory on this would be supplements. Maybe fish oil capsules.

It’s possible, but I’m still not sure it would be enough. You can in theory get enough vitamin D with supplements but if we consider all those people living in near constant darkness that’s a lot of supplements you’d need to cover everyone’s needs. It’s possible Marik would get a privileged treatment since he is the heir and all, but I’m still not sure they would be able to cover completely the amount of vitamin D he would need
