“Cal, I already told you that the boss is not going to listen! I’ve tried everything already”

Calum mumbled out an answer that was barely understandable with the outside noise, but Michael heard it all already and just limited himself to rolling his eyes before making sure the road was empty so he could cross the street.

Saturday’s afternoons used to be relaxing until today; just hanging around his house, playing video games until it was time to take South for a walk, come back after a good 40 min in the park, order some takeout and go to sleep. But now, his Saturday has been filled with calls from his friends, urging him for details about his possible promotion in the office and how that might not happen after all.

Michael has been working at the company the longest. Ever since he was in college learning about programming, he took it upon himself to become the best there is in the field, landing a big opportunity working as an intern for one of the largest video game companies on the continent and then working his way up to the big leagues. There, he also found his best friends; Ashton, who worked in the creative department that originated all the best ideas; Calum, the youngest marketing manager of the state; and Luke, who started working as an intern a couple of years prior and was taken under Michael’s wing till he found his own.

The rumors about the new company manager started floating around a few weeks ago when Mr. Spellman casually announced the possibility of his early retirement and how he would need someone capable, intelligent, young, and hip. Someone like…

“Michael! Are you even listening?” Calum yelled from the other side of the phone.

“No, I’m sorry. It’s very hard to listen when you’re exercising your ego” Michael answered sarcastically as he pulled South away from a mysterious liquid on the floor.

“Haha, if anything I’m helping your ego!” Said Calum “We need to find out about this new hire that Mr. Spellman wants to replace you with”

Michael sighed. He knew that what Calum was saying was true. The rumor of a new hire coming to take the position Michael was fighting for his whole career was breathing down his neck. But they had no information about them nor did they know if it was true. And, to be honest, Michael didn’t want to know anything about them.

“There might not even be a new hire! Just because Ashton told Luke that he heard Nick tell Sandra…”

“But Nick knows everything!”

“Nick barely knows divisions!” Michael sighed “Look, even if Mr. Spellman were to hire someone new, who’s to say it would even be for the promotion? We are understaffed in the customer service department”

Calum scoffed, “Yeah, as if they are going to bring a newby from New York to work in customer service”

“Wait, from New York?!” Michael stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, lightly pulling South back with him “The new guy is coming from New York?! Wha-“

“Watch out!”

It all happened so fast that Michael only remembers opening his eyes and staring at the sky with a very pointing pain on his backside. South managed to get off the leash but stayed near him, barking at him as if it was his fault he was suddenly swooshed out off his feet and onto the ground.

Oh my god! I didn’t hit your dog, did I?” A panicked voice said.

That’s when Michael finally looked up to see a bike. A brand new bike that had literally crashed into him in the middle of the sidewalk. And the first thing this person asked was if the dog was okay?!

“Of course the dog is okay!” Michael said a bit too loud, giving the ringing in his ear and the immediate headache that came afterward “He wasn’t the one who just got run over!”

To be fair, if it were another circumstance Michael would most definitely ask if the animal was okay before making sure a human was. But given that he was the hurt human in this situation and Southy was looking up with a dumbfounded expression whilst moving its tail; he felt like he should be a little bit upset about it.

“Well only if you hadn’t stopped o abruptly in the middle of the sidewalk!” The voice said again with the audacity to actually sound mad about it.

Immediately, Michael looked up again, scrunching his eyes because of the sun contrasting against this person’s frame. And there he saw her: A young woman about his age, hair pulled out of her face, hand resting on the handles of the bike while it seemed angels sang songs around her as she looked at him with a frown. Michael has never seen such piercing eyes. But, then again, Michael has never been run over by a bike and then got yelled at while he was still on the floor.

“Oh,I’m sorry,” He said sarcastically “Should I get worried about a vehicle running me over while I’m walking on the sidewalk? Silly me thinking that bikes should be on their lane!”

“Thisis the lane!” The biker answered. And, oh shit, it really was the lane. Michael realized he must’ve stopped right as he was about to cross it.

“W-wellyou could’ve stopped!”

She opened her mouth to say something, but then she closed it as she shook her head and muttered a very angry “Un-fucking-believable” before she got up on her bike again.

Michael got up just in time before she rode off “I’m okay by the way! Thank you! He yelled after her. But she didn’t even look back, she just flipped him off and continue riding off to fucking knows where.

South watched her with a very happy tail until she was out of sight, and then turned to Michael and started barking at him again. Michael grumbled a curse word as he leaned down to pick up his cellphone and the leash, and that’s when he noticed it: A small dandelion tattooed on the inside of his wrist. Michael knew all of his tattoos, and he knows for sure that one wasn’t there before, so there was only one explanation for it.

“Fuck me”

Michael!” Calum called through the phone “Michael are you there? What happened?”

“I’m fine,” He answered as he placed the phone over his ear “Yeah, I- I guess I just met my soulmate”

Pairing: OC Stevie Joan Lee & Calum Hood

Words: 1k

Warning(s): swearing, mentions of drug use, angst (I guess)?

image

Even before you were born, the world already knew who you were. You are named after rock stars just like your younger brothers, Stevie Joan Lee, daughter of the famous Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. Growing up you stayed away from the spotlights, people knew of you, but they didn’t know who the real Stevie Joan was. You tried to stay out of your father’s crazy lifestyle and for a while it worked. That was until you took a liking to a famous Australian based band called 5 Seconds of Summer… and to be even more specific a bass player called Calum Hood.

You swore on your life that you would never fall for an artist or even someone famous, seeing how your dad was. You loved that he got to do what he loved, but you hated how he was rarely home or how hard the rock star life was on his health. On the other hand, you went to school and tried to live as normal of a life as possible. You fangirled at concerts and fantasized about meeting 5sos. However, you could easily let your dad’s team call someone and have it arranged but seeing that you wanted to live a normal life, it stayed a fantasy. You know the guys from 5sos are big Mötley Crüe fans and a meeting could easily be arranged, but you didn’t want your dad interfering with your life and interests. You weren’t much of a spoiled brat, you paid for a lot of things yourself because you are a strong independent woman for fuck’s sake.

In 2019, you went to yet another 5 Seconds of Summer concert, your friend got the tickets for the two of you, and you couldn’t be happier. The tickets were general admission, meaning you were waiting in line way before the concert even started, so you could get to the front and admire Calum from up close. You had done this before by multiple of their concerts and every time you were more in awe of how gorgeous he was. It may sound absolutely weird as can be, but you were in love with him. Not the fangirl in love with him where you faint. No, I’m talking the whole butterflies in the stomach, can’t think straight when you see him, type of love.

That night you and your friend had made it to the front near the spot where Calum would be later on. What happened next felt like a fairytale or a fan fiction. Calum saw you and danced with you all night (him still on stage obviously) and invited you backstage after the concert. It wasn’t until you introduced yourself as ‘Stevie Joan’ that he realised you were Tommy Lee’s daughter. You exchanged numbers, three days later he asked you on a date, and you have been dating each other ever since. You never really got used to his lifestyle, it was far less crazy than your father’s, but it was crazy nonetheless. You joined him on tour whilst he was in America, during his visit to other countries you kept close contact.

You received a text from him saying that he was in Amsterdam with a photo attached of him smoking with the guys. You texted him back that he should be careful and that you missed him. After that you received a photo of them with a lot of girls, you weren’t blind you knew they had groupies and Calum had promised you that he would never do anything with them. However, this night you felt like something was different, he still hadn’t replied to your text saying that you missed him and the girl in the photo was a little too close to Calum to just be friendly.
Instagram was the best for your own FBI investigation to whom this girl was. As soon as you typed in 5 Seconds of Summer more photos popped up from this night and from the nights before according to the timestamp underneath the photos. You know you shouldn’t have, but you began to read the comments.

“Good to see Calum finally enjoying himself”

“He should dump his girlfriend, she’s holding him back”

“He is only with her because of her father”

“I bet they aren’t even really dating”

Could that be true? Was he really dating you because of your father? What would he get out of it, more fame? You went insane that night. You tried calling him multiple times, but he never answered any of them. You tried to call Ashton as he was the only one you were close too besides Calum. He didn’t answer either, but you did get a text from him saying that he was sorry.

That night you went to bed and cried yourself to sleep. The next morning you did something you never thought you would do, you called your father. After speaking with him, you packed all your stuff from the flat you and Calum shared in LA and left to go to your father’s house. You welcomed you with open arms as you fell into them, sobbing. You really thought Calum was the one, but it turns out he wasn’t.

**********

Calum went crazy in Amsterdam. He had seen the pictures that were taken last night, and he feared the most. He tried calling you so many times, he had even called your brothers, but they wouldn’t tell him anything. He couldn’t sleep in his own bed on his own, so he went to Ashton’s room. Ashton tried to console him but just like you had, he cried himself to sleep, but not before he saw Ashton send you a text. Was it really over?

 Luke’s POV

We sit eating our pizza as we finish The Little Mermaid. I can’t keep my eyes off of Vivian. We almost kissed before mum got home, then Annie stopped by, everything is just crazy at the moment. I’d rather have it be like this, with Vivian at my side, knowing her secrets, instead of it being awkward with us at school. I’d rather be with her right now, instead of being with anyone else.

“What movie do you want to watch next?” I whisper, as the end titles of The Little Mermaid roll down the screen.

Vivian lets out a breath, “I don’t feel like watching another movie, if that’s alright with you.”

She looks up at me, and her green eyes are the brightest I’ve ever seen them.

“That’s fine. What do you want to do?” I smile down at her.

Vivian sits up, and stretches. A yawn escapes her mouth, and she shrugs, “I don’t know.”

The shirt I lent her lifts up as she stretches, showing her white stomach and back. She’s not thin like a twig, and I don’t care at all that she doesn’t have a flat stomach. I reach over and jab her side once. She squeals and grabs my hand to stop me from doing it again.

“You look exhausted. How about you catch up on some sleep that I know you haven’t been getting enough of?” I say, and her cheeks turn pink.

Now that she’s not wearing any makeup, the bags under her eyes make her look like she has two black eyes. I can see it in her eyes that she wants to sleep.

“I’m fine.” She lies, and another yawn leaves her lips.

I roll my eyes at her. “Yeah, and I’m superman.”

She narrows her eyes at me, causing me to roll my eyes at her.

“Come on, some sleep will do you well.” I stand up, and reach my hands out to her.

“Lets clean up first.” She starts to pick up our candy wrappers and pizza.

I grab her wrists to stop her from cleaning. “We can clean tomorrow. You need sleep, now.”

She frowns, but makes now actions to defy me. I grin at her, and pull her wrists towards me, so I can hug her. She wraps her arms around my waist, and I wrap mine around her shoulders. I’ve still got the blanket on my shoulders, so now it’s draped over both of us.

After a few seconds of just hugging, I start to step backwards, towards the guest room, and she follows me without arguing. Once we’re in it, I move my hands down to her waist and throw her on the bed. A shriek leaves her lips, soon followed by laughter.

“You gave me a heart attack!” She throws a pillow at me, but I quickly catch it.

I walk over and set the pillow down. “I’m sorry.”

“No you aren’t.” She grins up at me, when she should be glaring.

“I know.” I smile back at her.

We stand there staring at each other for who knows how long. Vivian yawns, causing me to yawn, and decide that it really is time for bed.

“Alright, I better leave. The bathroom is the first door on the right, and my room is at the end of the hallway if you need me.” My voice gets quieter and quieter as I speak.

I think I see Vivian frown, but it’s dark and I could have imagined it. “Okay.” she whispers.

I start to walk out of the room, but I don’t even reach the door before Vivian speaks again.

“Wait.” I barely hear her say it.

I turn around, “Yeah?”

There’s a few seconds of silence, but Vivian eventually speaks again, “Will you stay? Just for a little while.” She adds the last part in quickly.

“Of course.” I reply without a second thought.

I make long strides until I get to the bed. Vivian scoots to one side, and I climb over to the other. It’s awkward for a few seconds, but Vivian moves closer to me, resting her head on my chest.

“Thank you, for everything.” She whispers.

I run my hand down her shoulder and her arm, to tangle my fingers with hers. “You don’t have to thank me Vivian.”

“Yes I do. Without you, I don’t know where I would be right now.” Her voice cracks, and I can tell that she’s about to cry.

I turn her around, so she’s looking at me. There are a few tears running down her cheeks, that I wipe away quickly.

“It’s okay, I promise.” I whisper, staring into her eyes.

“But Luke, it isn’t! My father is cheating on my mother, who doesn’t care, my father actually hit me, and all of these secrets are suffocating me.” her words are rushed, like she’s running out of breath as she speaks. She starts to hiccup, and gasp for air in between sobs.

“Hey, hey, breathe, you need to breathe.  In and out, deep breaths.” I take a deep breath in, then let one out. Vivian tries to copy me, and after a few minutes she is breathing normally again.

“Why haven’t you said anything about my father, or mother, or anything. Every time I mention it, you change the subject.” She asks after a few minutes of silence. Her eyes are filled with shame, and insecurity.

I brush some stray hairs behind her ear, “I haven’t said anything, because I don’t know what to say. I don’t know your parents like you do, but I am truly sorry for what’s going on. It’s not right, and there should definitely be some changes, but life doesn’t always go how you want it to, you know?”

Vivian nods, but I continue to talk before she can say anything. “What I do know to say, is that you, are amazing.”

Her eye brows furrow and she starts to object, but I stop her. “You are, and it’s true. You have kept this secret, not even telling your closest friend, for such a long time. You’ve put on a smile, even if it 100% fake. You’ve stood up for yourself, and haven’t taken any shit from anyone. You are so incredibly strong, it amazes me. If this had happened to me, I would have been crying to the guys all the time. You’ve kept yourself standing and smiling for this whole time, and that is amazing.

"But not everyone can always be strong. You were so strong for so long, until you couldn’t take it. You broke, into a million tiny pieces, and that’s okay. You can’t always be whole, you’re human for gods sake. I’ll help you find every single piece, and put them in their place. It will be a long puzzle, but it’ll be worth it. It’ll be so worth it Vivian. And you know what? I figured something out, that scared me. I hadn’t felt this way in a long time, and last time I felt like this, it didn’t end well. Vivian, I figured out, that I’m hopelessly in love with you. I know I have no shot, but I had to tell you. I’m in love with every single bit of you Vivian.”

A grin is spread across my face, now that I finally got that off my chest. I take a moment before I look down at Vivian, preparing myself for her reaction. My eyes reach her face, and I see her eyes closed, and her lips parted. Quiet snores leave her lips.

I can’t tell if I’m relieved, or disappointed that she didn’t hear my confession.

Authors Note:

It’s been a month, alright longer than a month, but still.

To make a long story short, shit’s been going on, and I had to take a break to deal with my life, and fix some things about myself.

It’s very important that you all know that I am still in that process of fixing myself, so updates won’t be nearly as frequent as they used to be.

I am still on semi-hiatus (a mini break)

I am not giving up on this story though. It’s the most I’ve every written for a single story, and I intend to write a lot more.

However, I am discontinuing Forgotten Memoriesfor now. If I feel like picking it up again, and reposting the chapters I’ve already done, I will, if I don’t, I won’t.

I’m writing a teen fiction story, but I don’t know if/when I will post it on here. I’ll give you guys more information on that later.

Thank you all for your patients, and understanding, it really kept me from stressing about this story.

I hope you enjoy this chapters, and the chapters to come. If you did enjoy this chapter, please like it.

P.s. I made new covers for this, and my completed calum fic #7, comment what you think of them!

Forgotten Memories
4. Eating for Two

“Andy, dinner!” Mom’s irritated voice shouts from upstairs.

My eyes go wide, “Oh shit.”

“I’ll be up in a minute!” I shout.

I look back at Michael, and hand my laptop over to him. We’d been looking up his band trying to jog some of his memory, but it hasn’t helped at all.

“I’ll be right back, stay here and be quiet. I’ll bring food.” He perks up at the word food, and sits up straighter, nodding obediently.

Shutting my door behind me, I trudge up the stairs. The smell of lemon chicken, and potatoes hits my nose, making me grin.

Oh, how do I love food.

I grab a larger plate from the pile of them, and start stacking it up with food. Three pieces of chicken, two potatoes, a small mountain of green beans, and a puddle of gravy on the side. I look up to see everyone staring at me in shock.

“I’m, hungry?”

Tiffany scoffs, “Obviously.”

When everyone’s looking at Brandon, I slip an extra fork into my pocket. I fill up a tall glass with water, all the way to the rim of it.

“I’m eating in my room.” I call, as I head downstairs.

“Bring your dishes up when you’re done.” Mom reminds me.

I nod at her, doubting that she actually saw me. I hurry downstairs, into my room, and see Michael staring at my art work again.

“I’m back.” I announce.

He turns around, and looks at my plate of food, his eyes going wide. We both sit down on my bed, with the plate in between us. It’s silent as we both eat for a while. Michael breaks the silent when he clears his throat.

“Did you draw those yourself?” He asks, his mouth still half full of food, and points to the drawings and paintings on my walls.

I nod, “Yeah.”

“They’re amazing.”

My eyes go wide.

Michael Clifford just complimented me on my artwork.

I start to choke on my green bean, after I take a sip of water, and can breath properly, I reply, “Thank you.”

His look of worry goes away as he smiled and nods his head, “You’re welcome. This food is amazing, what is it?”

He takes another bite of the chicken, moaning at the taste.

“Chicken and potatoes?” I reply, but it comes out as more of a question.

He really doesn’t remember anything, does he?

“Well it’s delicious.” He grins at me, and immediately goes back to shoving food in his mouth.

Apparently he forgot what manners were too.

In less than ten minutes, Michael’s eaten the two largest pieces of chicken, more than half of the potatoes, and only a few green beans. I ate the rest, which wasn’t very much.

“I have to take this up. Be-”

“Quiet, I’ve caught on my now.” he nods.

I blush, but smile lightly at him. When I close my door, I let out a breath, suddenly feeling exhausted. Everything that’s happened today, the stupid flashback to that horrid night, Adam calling me, Michael showing up, having to hide him and try and figure out what is wrong with him, that discussion with the family, the new rules, It’s all making my head hurt.

“Wow, you ate all of that?!” Brandon’s surprised voice only makes my head hurt even more.

“Yeah.” I deadpan, not in the mood to deal with him.

“I bet she’s eating for two.” Tiffany whispers, so the parents can’t hear.

“Coming from you.” I scoff, and load my dishes into the dishwasher.

Tiffany gasps, as if she’s shocked. No one thinks it, but she’s a huge slut. She comes off as this perfect girl, who could do no wrong, when in reality she’s hooking up with the whole football team. If she wants to be that way, then by all means I’ll let her. But if she comes crying to me with an STD, I’ll only laugh. I start to head for the stairs, but get stopped.

“Andy, help clean everything up.” Phillip instructs.

I roll my eyes, but do as I’m told. Tiffany and Brandon are told to help me, but they don’t of course. After all of the leftovers are in containers, and in the fridge, I finally escape and tiredly walk to my room.

Michael’s looking at my laptop again, with his eyebrows furrowed, and it looks like he is thinking really hard.

“Remember anything?” My voice sounds just as tired as I do.

He shakes his head, still staring at the screen, “No, nothing.” He looks up at me, and his eyes go wide, “You look dead.”

I laugh lightly, “No, I’m fine, lets-” I’m interrupted by a yawn, “keep looking to try and jog your memory.”

“I can do that, but you need to sleep.” he decides, and moves to sit on the floor.

“What? No, I’m fine, come back up here.” I yawn again, right after I say that.

He shakes his head, “No, get some sleep, I’ll be fine down here.” He reaches over and turns off the light.

“There’s extra pillows and blankets in my closet.” I comment, then drift off into sleep.

The sound of pound wakes me up. I had just had this crazy dream too. I was home alone, and Michael Clifford showed up at my house. I never had this crazy of dreams anymore, and it was entertaining.

Like that could ever happen.

“Andy! Wake up!” The pounding on my door continues, with my mothers irritating voice.

I groan and roll over, squinting my eyes open. A light snoring makes my head snap towards the ground. A bright red head full of hair pops into my vision.

“Oh shit.” That wasn’t a crazy dream, Michael Clifford is curled up on my floor, drooling on my pillow.

“Andy!”

“I’m up!” I shout, momentarily forgetting that there’s a sleeping Australian curled up in a My Little Pony duvet.

“Phillip and I are going out, I need you to watch after Ruth.” She says through my door. Thank god I locked it as I came in last night, or something horrible could have happened.

I glance at my alarm clock to see that it’s nearly noon.

“What about Brandon, or Tiffany?” I question, and Michael doesn’t even stir from the noise.

“Tiff’s at Brittany’s, and Brandon’s leaving for Sean’s soon.”

I groan, it’s not that I didn’t want to watch Ruth, it’s that I didn’t want to do it now. I’m still exhausted.

“Fine.” I huff.

“She should be awake soon, get up and get ready for the day.” With that I hear her footsteps disappear upstairs. I roll my eyes.

As if I’m getting ready on a Saturday.

My groans are muffled by my pillow as I shove my face into it, just wanting to go back to sleep. After a few minutes, I hear the garage door open and close, signalling that the parents are gone. I look down, to see that Michael is still snoring into my pillow.

I scribble out a quick note to him,

‘If I’m not there when you wake up, don’t look for me.

Stay quiet.

-Andy’

I make my way upstairs, and immediately turn on the coffee maker. The sound of explosions makes me jump.

“What the hell was that?!” I screech, and turn around to see Brandon playing on his Xbox.

“As if you’ve never heard someone getting blown up.” He scoffs.

“I thought you were supposed to be gone?” I yawn, pulling out some waffles and throwing them into the microwave.

“Sean’ll be here in like 5 minutes.” He murmurs, his attention fully on the TV screen.

I roll my eyes, and make my coffee, then butter and drown them in syrup. I’m halfway through my third waffle, when Brandon announces that he’s leaving. Right as he slams the door, Ruth starts crying. I finish my coffee quickly, and scurry to her nursery.

“Hey doll, what’s wrong?” I grin at her, as she continues to cry.

“You need a diaper change? I think so.” I change her diaper, then lift her out of her crib.

“Is that better?” She’s stopped crying, so I’ll take that as a yes.

“Lets get you some breakfast.” I take her into the kitchen, and whip up a bottle for her.

I suddenly remember that Michael is downstairs. Once her bottle is finished, I give it to her, and carry her downstairs with me. I hear commotion in my bedroom, so Michael must be awake. I open my door, and see him rubbing his eyes while sitting on my bed.

“Good morning.” His head snaps towards me when I speak.

“Good morning.” His raspy morning voice, combined with his accent, makes my heart race.

“This is Ruth, my half sister.” I grin at her, as she stares at Michaels hair as if she’s in a trance. Michael stands up, and walks towards us, grabbing one of Ruth’s hands.

“Nice to meet you Ruth, I’m Michael.” She reaches for his hair, and I giggle at both of them.

“Everyone’s gone. You hungry?” The moment I say the word hungry, his stomach rumbles.

“Yes, but I need to use the bathroom first.” His cheeks turn a shade of pink.

My eyes widen and I nod, “Go right ahead, I’ll be upstairs when you’re done.”

He nods and scurries off to the bathroom. Ruth makes a noise when he leaves, and is frowning. I laugh and start to attack her with kisses. She squeals, and tries to get away, but she can’t. Her little laughter is so adorable.

After I’ve gotten tired of drowning her in kisses, and she looks like she’s on the verge of crying, I stop. I take her upstairs, and play around with her, waiting for Michael to hurry up.

Finally, I hear footsteps, so I turn around and see Michael with his red hair all over. He looks so attractive in my brothers sweatpants, I have to force myself to look away from him.

“You’re probably starving, we have cereal, waffles, eggs, toast, pancake mixture, this local nutritious crap that Tiffany eats.” I stick a tongue out just thinking of her thick drink that looks like throw up.

“I’m not sure what any of those are.” Michael says embarrased, scratching the back of his neck.

I think for a moment, “I think you’d be a pancake kind of person.”

“Okay….” He replies unsurely.

“But it requires two hands for me to make them, and setting up her high chair is a pain in the ass. Could you hold her?” I ask and bite on my lip while I wait for him to reply.

“Sure!” He reaches out his hands eagerly.

Who knew that Michael Clifford would be such a softie around children.

I grin, and hand her over to him, then give him her bottle. Ruth immediately reaches for his hair, and actually gets a grip on it. She starts to tug and pull it, making him wince.

“I’m sorry, she is a hair puller. Just give her her bottle and hopefully she’ll stop.” I have to be careful not to laugh at him, as Ruth keeps on playing with his hair.

I get out the pancake mixture, and start to mix it all together. I hear Ruth making little noises, and smile at myself.

Once the batter is ready, I take out a pan and put it on the stove, and wait for it to warm up.

“How’s she doing?” I turn around to see him staring at her fondly.

“Great.” His voice is soft, and there’s a smile on his face that I doubt anything could ruin.

I take a step towards the both of them, and reach out to smooth Ruth’s hair out. Michael and I lock eyes, and my heart flutters.

“She really likes you.” my voice is just above a whisper.

His gorgeous light blue-green eyes stay locked in mine, “And I really like her.”

Something hard smacks me through the face. A thud hits the ground, and I look down to see Ruth’s empty bottle.

“Ireally like her.” Michael laughs.

“The little brat always throws it at me when she wants more.” I grumble, and pick it up.

The pan is hot enough, so I pour the perfect amount of batter into the pan, and let it cook. I quickly make Ruth a new bottle, and hand it to Michael, then go back to the pancakes and flip it.

Ten minutes later I’ve made five pancakes, three for Michael and two for me. I’ve buttered them and drown mine in syrup, but let Michael chose how much me wants.

He skillfully eats and holds Ruth on his lap at the same time. He’s even careful to not get syrup all over.

The second he has his first bite of pancake in his mouth, I can tell that he loves it.

“I’ll make more.” I grin as he’s halfway finished his plateful.

He doesn’t argue, but continues to eat. I make another five pancakes, three more for him and two more for me. We finish our breakfast, and I get an idea to job his memory.

I connect my phone to our stereo, an start to play 5sos’s album. He listens closely, but in the end shakes his head. I play other bands I know he enjoys, but get the same answer.

I give up on music, “Let’s try movies.”

Authors note:

So this chapter is terrible and I’m sorry. I’m in that place where I know what the beginning and ending of the story are gonna be, I just don’t know the middle.

I could really use some ideas! What do you guys think is going to happen?

Comment what you think’ll happen!

Also vote if you enjoyed it!

Ps, the picture on the side is of Jennifer Connelly, who I chose to be Andy’s mom! I think the picture perfectly depicts her.

Well, that’s all I have to say.

Have a great day/night/life.

Forgotten Memories
2. How Ironic

Michael fucking Clifford my fucking door. What the fuck? Am I hallucinating? Have scientists from the future created him as a hologram to play tricks on me? Is Ashton Kutcher good to jump out and say that I’ve been punk’d? Is he even really outside my door?

Why don’t you open the damn door and find out you imbecile?

I listen to myself and slowly grasp the doorknob again, turning it, then pulling it open slowly. The first thing I see is bright red hair, again.

“I’m sorry, but are you Andrea Ross?” He asks again, and as I get over the shock of him saying my name, I notice that he’s clutching a familiar piece of paper in his hands.

“Um.. Yes..” I finally speak, and it comes out like a question.

His eyes widen, “You are?”

“Well according to my birth certificate…” I trail off, my terrible sense of humor coming in at the worst time possible.

“What?” His eyebrows knit together, causing his eyebrow piercing to wiggle.

I shake my head, mentally face palming, “never mind, you loon like you’ve been hit by a train, do you want to come in?”

I’m inviting Michael Clifford into my house. Must. Contain. Inner. Fangirl.

“Please.” He breaths, walking in towards me.

He smells of sweat, and dirt, and I’m still amazed by it. He stares at me, and I snap out of my thoughts.

“Do you want some water, food, a shower?” I offer.

He nods, “Yes!”

I don’t know which he’s saying yes to, so I just assume all of the above. I hurry up the stairs signaling him to follow me, and he does. I grab the largest glass we have and fill it up with water, and he drinks it as if he hasn’t drank water before.

I open our fridge and pull out left overs from everything we’ve had to eat all week. He goes straight for the pizza moaning as he gets it in his mouth, not caring that it’s cold.

Here I am, the inner me having a complete (freak out) because Michael fucking Clifford is sitting at my counter moaning a he eats my cold leftover pizza. On the outside I’m freaked out, but calm and not fangirling, which takes a ton of self control.

I keep looking at the paper he’s still holding with a death grip. It looks so familiar, but I just can’t remember what it is. I try to casually read what it says, but I have no luck.

I clear my throat, “Not to um, be rude here or anything, but why are you here? I’m still waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out of here somewhere, because let’s face it, this is crazy, your favorite band member doesn’t just come showing up at your doorstep out of the blue, that’s just crazy. Did someone hire you to come here? Are you from the future?”

He stares at me, looking extract confused, while he finished chewing his pizza.

“I um… I don’t know.” His cheeks turn light pink.

I ignore that I just made Michael Clifford blush, “What do you mean, you don’t know?”

He scratches the back of his neck, “I um, I can’t remember anything.”

The look on my face must be pretty amusing because he laughs lightly, before getting serious again, “I know it sounds crazy, but it’s the truth. I woke up a few days ago from this guy poking me, asking if I was okay. My head was in so much pain, and I couldn’t remember anything, at all. All I had was this,” he waves the paper, “and a bunch of money in my pocket.”

I process what he just said. From what it sounds like, he has amnesia, how fucking ironic.

“Can I see that?” I point to the paper.

He looks at it once more before handing it to me, as if it’s the most precious thing in the whole world.

I instantly recognize what it is. A few months before the accident, I wrote 5sos a letter, and sent it, hoping that they’d come to my city and perform so I could see them live. That was three years ago, and Michael still has it?

“Why do you still have this? I wrote it three years ago.” I look up at Michael.

He frowns, “I don’t know, I just woke up with it in, my um,” he pats his pocket, and looks as if he’s deep in thought.

“Pocket?”

“Yes!” He looks so happy, then sad.

“Why did you come here though? Why didn’t you go find someone that could help you?”

“I thought that maybe you could. I thought that because of this letter, I knew you, but just couldn’t remember. I thought that when I finally got here, I’d remember everything, but I didn’t.”

It suddenly hits me, that Michael Clifford has amnesia, and he hasn’t seen a doctor.

“We need to get you to a doctor.” I rush around trying to find my shoes.

“Wait! No!” He exclaims looking panicked.

I stop immediately, “You seriously need to see a doctor if you can’t remember anything.”

He chews on his lower lip, looking at his hands, “I um, have this fear of um,” he blinks a few times then snaps, “hospitals, that’s the word. See I’m remembering! Within a few days I’ll remember everything and be just fine!”

I stare at him intently, “Then what now?”

He takes another drink of water, then looks up at me, “I don’t know.” He shrugs.

I rub my temples, trying to think of something.

“Okay, well I’m sure you need to take a shower, right?”

He nods.

“If you’re done eating, you can do that now. I’m sure I can find some clean clothes that would fit you.” I swallow.

This is actually happening. Michael Clifford is going to shower in my house, and wear my brothers old clothes.

“Okay.” He stands up, gesturing for me to lead the way. I make my way downstairs to Adam’s old room. Mom’s turned it into a workout room for everyone, but I rarely come in here. I open the closet, grabbing one of Adams old t shirts, some sweats, and I blush when I find some boxers. I quickly put them in between the pants and shirt, and grab a pair of socks before turning around, and handing them to him.

“The bathroom is the first door on the left, there are extra towels in the closet. Just incase you don’t remember, shampoo and conditioner are for your hair, and body wash is, well, pretty self explanatory, you know to wash your body.” I shrug, playing with my fingers as I ramble on.

“Alright. First door on the left right?” He questions.

I just nod, and watch him as he disappears out the door. The first thing I do when I hear the shower turn on, is do my surprised/happy dance thing, Brandon calls it me having a seizure. When I catch my reflection in the mirror, my actions instantly still.

My eyes are still red from crying, but they’re not bloodshot. I’ve still got bags under my eyes, making me look like a zombie with glasses. My hair is poking out of my bun, and my wardrobe is anything but classy.

I hurry to my room, and brush out my hair, tying it up. I put some concealer on the blue and purple spots under my eyes, which a rare action. But hey, Michael Clifford is currently naked in my bathroom, I’m gonna put some make up on.

My room is a disaster, so I tidy it as much as I can. I throw all my dirty clothes into the hamper, making sure that my underwear is completely out of site. I make my bed slightly, and kick everything else into my closet.

I still hear the water running, so I pull out my Macbook, one pro of having a super rich step father that’s trying to get on your good side, and look up Amnesia.

Of course, the top result is 5 Seconds of Summer’s song.

Oh, the irony.

I skip the Wikepedia link that shows up, and click on the third one.

“Amnesia refers to the loss of memories, such as facts, information and experiences. Though having no sense of who you are is a common plot device in movies and television, real-life amnesia generally doesn’t cause a loss of self-identity.”

I keep read about the different types and causes of amnesia, and I look read about the one that sounds most like what Michael has.

“Transient global amnesia is a sudden, temporary episode of memory loss that can’t be attributed to a more common neurological condition, such as epilepsy or stroke.

During an episode of transient global amnesia, your recall of recent events simply vanishes, so you can’t remember where you are or how you got there. In addition, you may not remember anything about what’s happening in the here and now.

Consequently, you may keep repeating the same questions because you don’t remember the answers you’ve just been given. You may also draw a blank when asked to remember things that happened a day, a month or even a year ago.

With transient global amnesia, you do remember who you are, and recognize the people you know well. But that doesn’t make your memory loss less disturbing.”

I scroll through, reading every word. A tap sounds on my bedroom door, causing me to jump.

"Jesus, you take quick showers.” I mutter.

“Sorry, I wasn’t sure if this was your room.” He clears his throat.

Once I look up, my eyes widen. His hair is wet, and down, looking more natural. He’s wearing one of Adams old band t shirts, which looks like one that he already owns. He even makes sweatpants look good, which amazes me.

I notice the pile of dirty clothes in his hands. I quickly bookmark the website I’m on and close my laptop.

“I’ll throw those in the wash for you.” I hurry over to him, grabbing the clothes out of his grip.

Our hands brush, and goosebumps form on my arms.

I just touched Michael Clifford, and now I’m washing his clothes.

Once again, the inside of me and the outside are two completely different people.

“Thanks.” He comments as he follows me to the laundry room.

Once everything’s running, I look at the clock.

“We only have two hours until Brandon gets home, what are we going to do?” I start to pace back and forth.

“Who’s Brandon?” He says the name as if it’s some disease.

“My annoying as hell step brother. If he sees you here, who knows what he’ll do. He’ll definitely tell Phillip, saying that I kidnapped you or something crazy, plus he hates your band, so that doesn’t make it any better.” I continue to nervous ramble to myself, until he interrupts me.

“Wait who’s Phillip, and what do you mean by ‘your band’?” The confusion on his face hurts me.

“First of all Phillip is my step dad, and secondly, you don’t remember the band?” My heart breaks when he shakes his head.

I wonder if they’re freaking out at much as me right now.

“Come here.” I walk out of the laundry room, and back to my room.

I pull out everything that I own that has their face or logo on it. Posters, albums, EP’s, shirts, bracelets, everything. I sit down cross legged on my bed, signalling for Michael to do the same. He slumps down right next to me. I can feel his body heat radiating onto me, I can smell my vanilla body wash and my apple shampoo that he used.

I’m surprised by the amount of self control that I have.

“You’re the lead guitarist in 5 Seconds of Summer, you don’t remember that?” I point to him in the picture of the band on their self titled album.

He shakes his head, staring intently at the picture.

I sit up more, looking right at him, “Do you even remember your name?”

“Michael Clifford.” He answers immediately.

“Really? Oh my god, that’s amazing! Do you know your birthday?” I stand up, staring to gain hope.

He shakes his head, “No. I only know that my name is Michael, because of the paper. There were three other names, but none of them felt right”

I frown, “Oh, um okay. Do you remember anything else? Anything?” I’m desperate for him to say yes.

He picks up the most recent poster I have of them, where his hair in the picture is the actual color on his head. Michael stares at it for a while, then sighs and shakes his head, “Nothing.”

Michael then lets out a yawn, and I nearly smack myself.

“Oh my god you must be exhausted. Do you remember when you woke up, or where you woke up?”

He squints his eyes, looking deep in thought, “Um it was three days ago, I think, and the place was, New…. New.”

"York?”

He nods, “Yeah, New York, with the tall buildings, and so many people.” He grimaces.

“How did you get here?” Considering I live very far from New York.

“Um buses, trains, taxi’s, you know.” He shrugs.

I look at him amazed, “All to get here?”

He nods, “It was the only thing I could think of to do.”

I let out a breath, and shake my head, “Wow. Okay, well you look exhausted, so go a head and go to sleep. While I sit here and try not to watch you.” I mumble the last part to myself, thrusting myself out of my bed.

“Wait, what are you going to do?” His eyebrows furrow together.

I blush, then clear my throat, “I’m going to figure out what the hell we’re going to do.”

REQUEST: ‘could you do an imagine where luke is new to your school and you think hes cute but you’re too shy to talk to him, but he gets put in a few of your classes and he ends up flirting with you and having a crush on you? idk, ty:)’

“So I heard there’s a new kid.” Your best friend Callie says as you walk towards your math class that you have together.

“We get new kids every month.” You shrug, wondering why she’s so interested in this one.

“I’ve heard that he’s really cute, like he has a lip piercing, and looks like a god. I also heard that he’s from down under.” She squeals.

“Down where?” You ask, extremely confused.

“Australia!” She exclaims.

You make an ‘O’ shape with your lips and nod. You sit down in your assigned seats when the bell rings. Your teacher starts to go on about the test you’ll be having next week.

An extremely tall blonde walks in the door. He’s dressed in all black, and his hair is styled into a tall quiff. To say that he’s attractive is an understatement.

He speaks to the teacher quickly and quietly. The teacher nods and turns to the class.

“Class, we have a new student, Luke Hemmings.” He announces.

Luke waves, and you swear you can hear some girls sigh.

“Take the empty seat next to Y/N L/N.” He tells Luke, and points to you.

Your eyes widen, and you blush when Luke smiles at you. He swiftly makes his way to the seat next to you, sitting down lazily.

“Hey, Y/N.” He whispers, his deep Australian accent making you melt when he says your name.

“Y-yeah?” you reply awkwardly.

“Do you have a pencil I could borrow?” His smile lopsided. He nibbles on his bottom lip, where a black lip ring is placed snugly on his lips.

You nod, and grab a pencil out of your bag, and hand it to him.

“Thanks.” He grins, and starts to write something down.

You nod, and try to ignore the gorgeous Australian boy sitting next to you. Suddenly the bell rings, and you jump out of my seat, hurrying to the door.

“Dude you are so lucky!” Callie exclaims, angrily eating her lunch.

“I didn’t ask to have him in most of my classes. It’s not like I’ll ever talk to him anyway.” you mumble.

She groans “Exactly! Why couldn’t he be in my classes.”

You shrug, and continue to eat your lunch. You wish you could talk to Luke, you really do, but you’re far too shy. Plus, why would someone like him, even want to talk to someone like you?

“Okay class, pass in your homework.” Your math teacher commands.

You grab all of your half finished math homework out of your bag, and hand it to your teacher as he walks past your desk.

“Y/N, this isn’t even halfway completed.” Your teacher says with a disappointed look on his face.

“I didn’t really understand the lesson sir, I’m sorry.” You turn red from embarrassment.

He nods still disappointed, and continued on to collecting Luke’s, “Wow Luke, these all look correct.” He exclaims, looking over Luke’s completely finished homework.

You shrink down in your seat, feeling ashamed of yourself.

“Hey, Y/N.” Luke catches my attention.

I look over at him, still embarrassed.

“I could help you out with the homework, if you want to.” He suggests, grinning at me.

“O-okay.” You agree shyly, not knowing what you got yourself into.

“What are you not understanding about this page?” he asks, pulling out the next sheet of homework. It’s been two weeks since proposed to help you with math. You’ve met up twice a week, and he’s really helping you understand it, even when you kept getting distracted by him biting on his lip.

“Um… number 4.” You say, your cheeks heating up as usual.

He looks up at you and smiles, “I hate word problems too, they can be really confusing.”

You nod, and watch him as he speaks, explaining the problem. You watch how his lips smoothly move as he speaks, his accent even shown on them. The stubble on his chin increasing every time you see him. The lip ring, is your biggest weakness, every time he bites on it, it drives you insane, but there’s nothing you can do about it.

“Y/N? Y/N!” Luke waves a hand infront of your face.

“Huh?” you ask, snapping out of your thoughts.

“I’ve been talking to you for like 5 minutes now.” He laughs.

“Oh, sorry.” You blush, looking down.

“It’s okay, should we continue with the problem?” He asks.

You look up to see him biting on his lipring, “Y-yeah.”

He licks his lips, and starts to tell you how to do the problem. This time you actually focus on what he’s saying. You finish the problem, and are proud of the result.

“You wanna try the next one on your own?” He asks, and you nod getting to work.

You finish the problem, and look up at Luke to see if it’s the right answer. He nods, and grins, signaling that it is in fact right.

You grin back at him, “Yes!”

Your phone vibrates, and you see that it’s a message from your mom, who needs you home.

You sigh, “I have to go, my mom needs me home.”

He nods, and the two of you silently gather your things. You walk out of the library, and to the parking lot where both of your cats are parked, a few stalls apart.

“Um Y/N?” He says, sounding nervous.

You turn around to face him, “yeah?”

“So, um, ever since my first day here, I’ve kinda had a huge crush on you, and I was wondering if you’d want to go out with me, like on a date.” He rambles on, scratching the back of his neck.

Your eyes widen, never in a million years did you think that Luke Hemmings, the gorgeous new kid that instantly got popular, would be asking you out on a date. You stand there in shock, with you jaw dropped down.

“Y/N?” He asks, looking even more nervous than earlier.

“I.. Um.. Yes!” You manage to spit out.

His eyes widen, “Really?”

You nod, grinning at him, “Yes I’d love to go on a date with you.”

He beams, “Yes! I-I mean okay. Call me and we can discuss the details.” He winks, writing down his number on my hand, suddenly gaining his confidence back.

“Okay.” You smile, and blush.

“Talk to you soon.” He grins, biting on his lip, then turns around and walks to his car.

It’s been three months ever since Luke asked you on a date. After the first date there was a second, then a third, and plenty more after that.

He asked to be his girlfriend one day out of the blue, and of course you said yes.

Who wouldn’t?

Authors note:
Okay I really suck at endings I’m sorry.
So I haven’t posted a new writing on here in forever, besides my fanfic, and I think it’s because I’m better at writing stories with details, than writing one shots and stuff like that.

But tell me what you think, by giving it some notes!

Description: Calum Hood, the schools golden boy. He’s the reason that the varsity team is undefeate

Description:

Calum Hood, the schools golden boy. He’s the reason that the varsity team is undefeated for four years. He’s got perfect grades, a scholarship to one of the best colleges in the country. But no one knows his secret, that his passion for music is bigger than his passion for soccer. And what happens when Ember Williams finds out that secret? Read to find out!

13.

Calum’s POV

After ice skating for an hour longer, we decided to leave. Ember fell a total of five times. She gave up, and asked to leave, so I agreed.

We went to get some hot chocolate, and walked around for a little while. I was in pure bliss, walking around alone with Ember, no distractions, no school, no family, just us. I couldn’t help but grin at her every time she smiled or blushed.

After walking around, it got cold, and late, so we decided to go home. As I drove her home, I was kinda depressed that our date has to be over. I wanted more time alone with her.

“We need to to this a lot. I love having you to myself,” I admitted.

Although it was dark I know that her cheeks turned red. She nodded and mumbled an agreement.

Once we got to her house, I walked her to her front door as usual. We sat there in each other’s arms for a few minutes, then she went inside after a long goodnight kiss.

As I drove home, all I could think of is how amazing my life is, all because of one girl.

Ember’s POV

“So, how was your first date?” Jess asks, wiggling her eyebrows.

I roll my eyes, and blush, “It was amazing. We went to this cute little diner, then ice skating. After that we got hot chocolate and walked around for a little while”

Kim grins when she hears “ice skating.” Her and Jess both squeal. Because I had a date with Calum yesterday, we moved our traditional Friday night sleepover, to Saturday. Right now we’re sitting in my room, watching a movie that no one is paying attention to, and talking about whatever we want. It just turns out that right now we’re talking about my love life.

“Aw how cute!” Kim exclaims, shoving a handful of skittles into her mouth.

“And romantic!” Jess adds.

I blush even harder, and nod, “It was… What about you and Tyler? Have you gone on any dates?” I ask, trying to get the attention away from me.

She smiles and bites her lip, “We’ve gone to the movies, but he’s not really one to go on dates…”

I don’t understand what she meant, but Jess gasps. I furrow my eyebrows at her, and her eyes widen.

“You know, they don’t go on any dates,” she says, and I still don’t get it.

“So?” I ask, and grab a handful of popcorn.

“So what else are they gonna doif they don’t go on dates?” Her eyebrows lift, and she expects me to get it.

“I don’t know, hang out, watch movies, be together,” I list, my mouth full of popcorn.

“Well they are together, literally.” She mumbles.

Kim slaps Jess’s arm, causing the M&M’s in her hand to fly everywhere. I sigh, not bother to tell her to clean it up, because I know she won’t.

“Ow!” Jess whines, and glares at Kim.

“Well you…” they start to argue, and I sit there, still confused.

There’s plenty of things you could do as a couple, and not go on dates. You could watch a movie or TV show at home, you could make food together, you could basically do anything. I don’t get what she means at all.

“Guys, guys!” I stop them from arguing, “I still don’t know what you mean.”

“They have sex for god’s sakes!” Jess exclaims, and Kim slaps a hand to her forehead.

“Oh…” my face distorts to disgust.

“Now don’t tell me that you and Calum don’t do it, you two practically eat each others faces off every time you see each other!” Kim glares, annoyed by the look on my face.

I blush, and shake my head. I start to play with the popcorn kernels, forming them into random shapes.

“Wait, you two haven’t done it?” Jess asks, her eyes wide.

“No!” I exclaim, feeling extremely uncomfortable with the situation.

“Wow,” Kim says, then goes quiet

“Yeah, wow,” Jess repeats.

I look down at the odd shape of the popcorn kernels in my hands, utterly embarrassed. I didn’t think there was anything wrong with us not having sex yet. I’m not ready for it, and Calum respects it. Plus we just became a couple last week, and I don’t want to rush things.

“Hey, don’t worry, that’s awesome if you’re waiting,” Jess pushes my shoulder playfully.

I look up at her, to see if she’s serious. She gives me a sweet smile, and I know that what she said is genuine. I nod at her, and look away, still slightly embarrassed.

“So how’s Andrew, Jess?” Kim speaks up, thankfully changing the topic of the conversation once more.

I notice Jess’s cheeks turn red, and she starts to play with her hair. They’d been texting each other ever since the night at the pizza joint after the soccer game that Calum asked me to prom in the middle of. I didn’t know that it was anything serious, but her actions are clear, she likes him.

“He’s good,” she vaguely replies, and takes a drink out of her water bottle.

“How good ishe?” Kim sniggers, and Jess spits out her water, everywhere.

“Kim!” I yell, and jump up to get a towel. All she does is burst into laughter, while Jess is choking, and I’m trying to clean my room. After a few minutes everything is dry, and Jess has stopped choking. Kim still sits there, laughing hysterically, clutching her stomach.

“Oh my god…. I’m sorry…. that was just…. hilarious,” she says in between laughs. Her laughter dies down and she wipes the tears from her eyes.

“That was nothilarious,” Jess says through gritted teeth.

“Okay, I’m sorry. I really do want to hear about him though,” she says genuinely.

Jess sighs, but starts to speak anyway, “He’s really sweet. Like the sweetest guy I’ve dated.”

“Wait you guys are dating?” I interrupt her.

Her cheeks turn bright red, “Yeah.”

“For how long?!” Kim practically shouts.

“Since Thursday, when he asked me to prom”, She smiles a she speaks

“Oh my god!” Kim and I squeal at the same time.

“Wait that means we’ve all been asked to senior prom,” Kim realizes. Earlier she announced that

Tyler asked her prom, and of course she said yes.

“I never thought this would happen,” I mutter, amazed.

“I know,” Jess agrees.

We all sit in silence for a few moments. I never thought I’d even get asked to my own senior prom. Now I’ve been asked to Calum’s while I’m a junior. It’s just so surreal to me. I know Kim would get asked, she’s, pretty well known to the guys at our school. As for Jess, I had no doubt that she wouldn’t get asked, she’s so pretty and nice to anyone. I just never thought I’d get asked.

“We have to go shopping for dresses together!” Jess exclaims, interrupting my thoughts.

Kim agrees, and I do too. Suddenly I get an idea.

“We should do it soon. Calum’s sister is in town, and I think I might ask her to come with. Because she knows Calum the best,” I explain.

“Yeah that’s a great idea! The more the merrier,” Jess winks

I smile at her, “So when should we go?”

“How about Tuesday? The boys all have soccer practice late that night,” Kim says.

“They’re all on the team, I totally forgot that. Wow. But yeah, Tuesday sounds good,” Jess says.

I nod agreeing with her on both subjects. That it’s weird that we’re all dating seniors on the varsity soccer team, and that Tuesday would work. I pull out my phone to text Mali.

A few minutes later she replies saying she’d come with, “Tuesday it is.”

“What about this one?” Jess holds up a strapless blue dress that is way too puffy, and short for my liking.

I shake my head for what seems to be the millionth time today.

“Ugh come on just choose a damn dress, this is taking way too long,” Kim groans, tired of dress shopping.

We’ve been shopping for nearly five hours, and haven’t stopped since. It only took just over an hour to find Kim’s dress, a sexy dark red V-neck dress with long sleeves. She matched it with black pumps and some jewelry that looked good with it. She looks amazing in the dress, and she knows it. It took a little longer to find Jess the perfect dress, but eventually we did find it. Hers is a bright pink gown that reminded me of a wedding cake. It’s strapless, and has a sweetheart neckline, with silver studs bordering the top of the dress. It’s straight, but extremely puffy, with many layers of material to make the dress even bigger. She got sparkly silver pumps, and matching jewelry as well. As for me, I have found nothing that 1.) Looks good on me at all and 2.) I like the slightest bit.

“I’m sorry, I just can’t find anything,” I exclaim, just as frustrated as Kim.

She gives me a look, and I groan, “You no what, I’m never going to find anything that I look good in. I’ll just tell Calum that I’m not going, and to take someone else. It’s fine,” I ramble, and start to walk away.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t think like that. We will find you a dress that looks amazing on you, and you will go with Calum. There’s no way he’d take anyone but you. Don’t worry, we’ll find something, I promise,” Mali says sincerely after grabbing my arm, stopping me from leaving.

I sigh, but nod my head, hoping that she’s true. She gives me a wide grin.

“Good, now go try these on,” She shoves another pile of dresses, and pushes me towards the dressing rooms.

I try each of them on, and hate all of them. Most of them wouldn’t even zip up because they were too small, and they were the largest sizes! After I change back into my plain t shirt and jeans, I just stare at myself in the mirror. I pick out every flaw I have, my thick thighs, big stomach, not even relatively pretty face. All I can think is, How does Calum even like me?

I begin to break down, tears of frustration, and self hatred well up in my eyes. I try to blink them away, but they stream down my face. I try to get myself to stop crying, but nothing works. Now that I’ve started, it only gets worse.

“Ember, do you like any?” I hear Mali’s voice from behind the door.

“No,” I sniffle.

“Are you okay?” She sounds genuinely concerned.

A sob leaves my mouth, “No.”

“Let me in Ember, please.”

I unlock the latch on the door, and sit down on the bench. I look up to see Mali’s face full of concern. Immediately I’m embarrassed that she’s seeing me like this.

“What’s wrong?” She crouches down to be at eye level with me.

“None of them even fit,” I mutter, and more tears stream down my face.

“Oh honey that’s okay we’ll find one that does,” She reaches out and wipes a stray tear away.

I shake my head, “No we won’t, you don’t understand. This doesn’t ever happen to you, because there’s always have something your size,” I gesture to her flat stomach and small waist.

She frowns at me, but pulls me into a hug, not saying anything. We stay like this for a few minutes until my tears die down, and my breathing is steady. Eventually she pulls away from me, but stays crouched down in front of me.

“I need you to remember this. Calum loves you, for who you are. He doesn’t care that you’re bigger, in fact, he loves you even more for it. Everyone loves you for who you are, so it shouldn’t matter how much you weigh. You need to start loving yourself for who you are, because your opinion is really the only one that counts. You are a talented, kind hearted girl, who is gorgeous not just on the outside, but on the inside as well, you gotta start believing that.”

The way she speaks, and the look in her eyes, make me believe every word of what she says. She smiles at me, causing me to smile back at her.

“Now come on, we’ve got a dress to find, that will make my little brothers jaw fall to the ground, and I think I saw the perfect one,” She grins and slings an arm around my shoulder, walking me back to the dresses.

It feels like I have an older sister, and I couldn’t be more happy about it.

Chapter 13! Woohoooo

More bonding with Mali, and Ember gets deep.

Honestly, this is an experience that has happened to me. (not exactly in the same context, but you know what I mean) I’ve broken down in a dressing room, and can I just say, it freaking sucks.

Guys, you’re all beautiful inside and out, please know that.

I love you all.

Just FYI, the next chapter is most likely the last chapter of this story. I’ve written basically everything I had planned at the beginning of the story, plus more, and I’m pretty happy.

Give it some notes if you enjoyed this chapter!

Chapter 11

12.

Embers POV

“Mali?!” Calum’s voice is just above a whisper, clearly showing that he’s shocked.

He runs to her, tackling her into a hug. A squeal escapes her lips as he carelessly lifts her off the ground. They stay in each others embrace for what seems like minutes.

When they finally break apart, she looks at me, and nudges Calum.

“Oh yeah, sorry. Mali, this is my girlfriend Ember, Ember this is my older sister Mali.“

Mali grins and steps away from Calum, pulling me into a hug.

“It’s so nice to finally meet you! My mum has told me so much about you!”

I hug her back after a moment of shock. Once we pull apart, I smile up at her.

“It’s nice to meet you too,” I reply, wondering what exactly Mrs. Hood has told her. I stand there awkwardly, looking between the two, extremely alike looking siblings. I can just tell that they haven’t seen each other in a long time.

We move into the kitchen, where Joy is making what looks to be cookies. We say our hellos, then Calum speaks up.

“Why are you home? I thought you weren’t coming until your semester was over?” Calum asks, a huge grin on his face.

Mali smirks, and looks between us, noticing us holding hands, “Well mum told me that our little Cal’s in love, so I had to come see for myself.”

She pinches his cheeks, treating him like a baby, even though he’s almost a foot taller than her. He smacks her hands away from him, turns red, and scowls at her. My own cheeks heat up, and I look at my feet.

“You two are so cute! Oh I’m getting a call, be right back,” She squeals and walks out of the room.

I look up at Calum, and see that even though his sister embarrassed him (well, us) he is still so happy that she’s here. He looks down at me and smiles.

“Should we go start our movie?” He whispers.

I shake my head, “No! Your sister just got here you have to spend some time with her! I’ll call Jess to come pick me up.” I take out my phone.

“Oh no,” He grabs my phone, and shove it into his back pocket, “You’re staying here. She’s on the phone, probably with her boyfriend, so it will take a while. We’ll still watch the movie.”

I look up at him unsure.

“Mum we’re gonna watch a movie downstairs. Will you tell Mali to join us when she’s off the phone?” He squeezes my hand. Joy smiles and nods, agreeing to tell Mali.

He smiles at her then drags me downstairs. I roll my eyes at him, but don’t fight, because I know he’ll win with his adorable puppy dog eyes.

“What movie should we watch?” He asks, kneeling down in front of his shelf of movies.

“I don’t care, just nothing scary,” I shrug, and go to sit on the couch.

“Aww come on babe, you’re really not scared of horror films are you?” He turns around lifting his eyebrow up.

“Maybe…” I mumble, playing with my fingers.

He stands up, and sits next to me, “I’m right here, and I’ll protect you from everything. If you get way scared we can turn it off, okay?”

I sigh, but nod. He grins and gives me a quick kiss, then jumps up and puts whatever movie he picked in. He turned off the lights, pressed play and sat back down next to me.

The creepy music starts to play and I scoot closer to Calum. He laughs a little, and wraps his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into him.

The movie goes on for a while. The music starts to get intense and I know something scary is about to pop out. Right as it gets to its scariest point, the door to downstairs slams open, and I scream bloody murder.

Calum screams as well, and we both jump. Mali stomps down the stairs laughing, clutching her stomach.

“Oh my god… That was… Priceless!” She says in between fits of laughter.

Calum groans, and I shove my face into his chest, to hide myself from embarrassment.

“Seriously?! I think you scarred Ember for life,” He exclaims to his sister.

“No, I’m fine,” I speak up, my face still in his chest.

“Yeah, she’s fine, she’s a big girl Cal,” Mali laughs and I hear her plop down onto a couch. The movie’s still aging in the background, intense music and people screaming.

I peek my head up, and look at Calum. He’s already staring at me with a guilty expression.

“I’m sorry,” He frowns.

My cheeks heat up and I’m glad the lights are off, “It’s okay.”

His frown turns into a smile, and he leans down and places his lips softly on mine. I kiss him back, placing my fingers on his neck. I pull him in as close to me as I can, loving the feeling of us being so close together. Right as the kids starts to heat up, Calum pulls away, kissing my nose.

“Mali’s right there.” He whispers.

I nod, and turn my attention back to the movie, cuddling into his side more. He wraps his arm around me again, and despite the terrifying movie playing, I’m extremely happy right now.

After the movie finally ended, we all just sat talking for a while. I learned that Mali was studying to be an actress at a great school a couple towns over. She told me that she has a boyfriend of three years now, and they live together.

Her boyfriends name is Sean, and he’s going to law school. Their professions are very different, but they love the same things, music, movies, partying, and having a good time. I could just tell by the way she talked about him, that she loves him so dearly.

“He would have come, but he couldn’t get away from school. He wants to meet you so bad!” Mali grins at me.

I nod, and blush, amazed that people would actually want to meet me.

"Dinner’s ready!” Joy’s voice calls from upstairs.

I look at the clock on the wall, shocked to see that it’s already almost seven.

“I should get home, I don’t want to intrude on family time,” I scramble up,starting to grab my things, and Mali stops me.

“No no no, you are staying for dinner. I want to get to know you better,” She says, grabbing my arm.

I look between her and Calum for a moment. Calum is nodding his head, telling me to stay. Mali’s sounds so sincere, so I know that she’s serious, and not just being nice because I’m Calum’s girlfriend.

“Okay,” I agree, and Mali grins, then heads upstairs, leaving Calum and I alone.

“I knew you couldn’t resist this,” He smirks, walking towards me.

I shake my head, rolling my eyes at him, “I said yes to dinner, not to, you.” I blush realizing what it just sounded like I was saying.

I start to sputter, “I d-didn’t mean, you, you, l-like that, I meant you.” I start to back away from him as he continues to walk towards me. My back hits a wall, and he continues walking towards me.

He presses his body against mine, and starts to kiss me. I kiss him back, and it quickly becomes heated. Soon he’s trailing kisses down my neck, and to my shoulder. I wince when he presses his lips to my collar bone.

He pulls away giving me a strange look. He quickly pulls down the sleeve of my shirt, along with my bra and tank top straps. His eyes widen when he see’s the hickeys he left on me last week.

“They’re still there?!” he whispers, examining the purple bruises.

I nod my head, blushing once again. He leans over and places a gentle kiss to each bruise.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers into my skin.

“It’s okay,” I hum, distracted by the feeling of his soft lips against my skin.

He trails his soft kisses up to my jaw, and quickly finds my sweet spot. I let my head fall back, a small moan leaving my lips. I can feel Calum grin against my skin, then continue to kiss right under my jaw.

“Are you two coming?” Mali’s voice calls from upstairs. I’m scared that she’s going to open the door and see us, so I push Calum away from me. I start to fix myself up, pulling my shoulder and straps back on.

“Yeah, coming,” Calum calls.

Once I’m looking normal, I head to the stairs, but get stopped by Calum’s strong arms wrapping around my waist.

“To be continued,” he whispers lowly into my ear, and takes my earlobe between his teeth.

A small gasp leaves my lips. He lets go of me, and walks up the stairs as if nothing had happened.

Dinner was great, as usual. We all talked and enjoyed ourselves. Just by having dinner with them, and seeing how they react, I can tell that the Hood family is a very close one, and they all love each other so much. Maybe it’s because how small of a family they are, or just how their parents have raised them to be. It’s amazing to me, how close they all are, and how they can tell each other anything and not regret doing it.

Lucy is so young, that I can’t really have any girly talks with her, my mom would tell the next person she saw what I told her, and my dad isn’t home enough. With Jess and Kim, I feel like we’re sisters, so I can tell them anything, which in a way makes up for not being extremely close to anyone in my family. I’m glad that Calum has Mali, because he has someone older to look up to for help.

After dinner we help clean up, and Joy brings out cookies, for dessert. They’re delicious, some of the best I’ve ever had. After that, it’s near my curfew, so I tell Calum that I should get home. I tell everyone goodbye, thanking Joy for the delicious food, and telling Mali that it was nice to meet her.

As we drive to my house, Calum grabs my hand, getting my attention.

“What did you think of Mali?” he glances at me quickly, before turning his attention back to the road.

A smile graces my lips, “She’s so nice, and sweet. I really liked her.”

“More than me?” he asks playfully

“Definitely,” I reply in a joking manner.

Calum pulls over, and turns the car off. I start to worry, thinking that he took what I just said seriously.

“Calum, it was a jo-” I’m cut off by his lips pressing against mine.

I relax, and kiss him back.

After a steamy make out session, where I might have attempted to give him a hickey, and succeeded,he turns the car back on and finishes driving to my house. He walks me to my front door, gives me a kiss, and leaves. I fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow, exhausted from the events of the day.

Friday comes around all too quickly.

Here I sit on the floor in my room, in front of my closet. I’m surrounded by all of my clothes, not knowing what to wear to our date. He told me to dress warm, and that was the only thing he told me about our date, and that he would pick me up at five, after soccer practice.

I glance at my alarm clock, it reads 4:48.

I groan, for what seems to be the millionth time today. I spot Calum’s hoodie, folded and sitting on my piano waiting to be returned to Calum.

I stand up, and walk to my piano. I run my fingers along the soft material of the jacket. I lift it to my nose, it still smells like Calum. My eyes close as I continue to bask to in his scent.

“Ember, Calum’s here!” My mom calls from downstairs.

I start to panic, and throw on his hoodie over the shirt I wore to school. I grab my phone and purse, then scramble down the stairs. As I walk to him, A lopsided grin forms on Calum’s face when he see’s what I’m wearing.

He’s wearing a dark blue jacket over his t shirt, and black skinny jeans. His hair is wet, showing that he just showered. I can’t help but notice how attractive he looks.

“Ready?” It takes a moment for me to register his question.

“Oh, uh yeah,” I answer and my cheeks heat up.

“I’ll have her back by nine,” He smiles to my mom, and we walk out to his car. Before he opens the door for me, he grabs my chin and kisses me sweetly.

“You look amazing in my clothes,” He whispers lowly into my ear.

I blush, and look down at my feet. He kisses my cheek quickly, then opens my door for me. Once we’re both in the car, he starts it and we drive.

“So, where are we going?” I ask, dying to know what his plans were for the date.

“We’re going to this little diner that I love…..” He trails off, not saying the next part intentionally.

“Then?” I ask, hoping he’ll tell me.

He pretends to zip his lips shut. I groan, and sink back into my seat. He grins and take my hand, pressing it to his lips.

I turn on the radio, and we jam out until we get to the diner. The sign says Rosie’s Diner and it looks like a quaint, well kept place.

Once we walk in the doors, I’m hit by a gust of warm air, and the smell of chocolate cake. A few workers stand behind the counter. The bell rings once the door closes, and an older woman looks up from washing some dishes.

“Calum!” She exclaims, a wide forming on her face.

He grins, “Rosie!”

“Oh it’s so good to see you again! It’s been quite some time,” She remarks, walking us to a booth.

“I know it has, and I’m sorry. I’ve been so busy with school and soccer,” He gives her a guilty look.

“And who is this?” She looks to me, then Calum.

“This is Ember, my girlfriend. Ember, this is Rosie, the owner of the diner,” He grins, squeezing my hand that he’s holding.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you Ember. A waitress will be right out,” She smiles at me and disappears into the kitchen.

“So… Do you bring all your girlfriends here?” I say, looking around the diner.

“Nope, you’re only person I’ve ever brought here. None of them were special enough.”

I look at him, to see if he’s serious. A genuine smile widens across his face. My cheeks heat up, knowing that he meant it. I smile back at him. A waitress comes and asks for our order.

“We’ll both have a number three, no onions extra cheese,” He recites, already knowing what he wants. I just go with it, not having any idea of what they serve here.

“And what to drink?” She asks after writing it down on her notepad.

“I’ll have a Mountain Dew. You?” He looks at me lifting an eyebrow.

“I’ll have a Pepsi,” I decide.

The waitress writes at down, “Coming right up.” She smiles and walks away.

“So, how long have you been coming here?” I ask after a few moments of silence.

“Ever since I was little. Rosie is a friend of mum’s,” He explains.

I nod, “Oh, she seems nice.”

“She is. She always gives me a free slice of her homemade chocolate cake. I think I could split a piece with you,” He shrugs, but grins.

“Sounds delicious.”

We continue taking for a few minutes, then our food arrives. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s amazing. It’s some kind of burger that’s really cheesy and has this amazing sauce on it. The fries that came with it are the best fries I’ve ever had too.

“Oh my god, that was so good,” I moan, sitting back feeling full, and satisfied.

“I know right?” He says with a mouthful of his last fries.

Rosie walks over to our table, and places a slice of delicious looking chocolate cake on the table.

“Enjoy,” She smiles, and walks away after we thank her.

Calum picks up the only fork she brought with us, and cuts a piece carefully. He lifts up the fork full of cake, and places it in front of my lips.

“Open up,” he whispers.

I nibble on my bottom lip, then open my mouth, my eyes locked on Calum’s. The cake enters my mouth, and my taste buds go crazy. My eyes close, and a moan escapes my lips. After a few seconds of enjoying the amazing taste, my eyes flutter open, and I see Calum staring at me. His gaze is intense, and I have to tear my eyes away from him.

“You have,” my eyes meet his, and his eyes are trained on my lips, “some cake.”

I run my tongue over my bottom lip, trying to snatch up any pieces of cake on my lips. I look at Calum, as if asking if it was still there.

“I got it,” he leans over the table, and places his lips on mine. His tongue runs over my lips, and pulls away. He grins at me, and takes a bite of the cake, throwing his head back in content.

After we finish the cake, which was as good as Calum said it was, we left the diner. Calum paid for it, like the true gentleman he is. We get in the car, and drive into town. It takes a few minutes, but finally we pull into the ice rink.

“Ice skating?” I turn to Calum, shocked.

He nods his head, biting his bottom lip, “Tyler said that Kim told him that you’ve always wanted to learn how to ice skate, and I thought it would be a good first date.” His face is full of uncertainty, and worry.

I grin at him, “It’s perfect,” I lean over and press a quick kiss to his lips.

A wave of relief washes over him, and he hops out of the car, running around to open my door. We walk to the front door, hand in hand. Once he pays, we get our shoes. I have no idea how to tie them, the weird laces and holes confuse me.

A few minutes go by of me trying to tie them, and failing. I give up, and look over at Calum.

“Need help?” he asks, finishing his last lace.

“Please,” I pout at him, glaring at the laces.

He grins, and kneels in front of me, and effortlessly ties the complicated shoelaces. Once they’re tied, he helps me to my feet. The new feeling of having thin blades at the bottom of my shoes, disorientates me. I try to take a step forward, and almost fall over. Calum’s arms wrap around me, holding me up.

“You okay?” he whispers, his tight grip still holding me up.

“Yeah, it’s just weird,” I mumble, and grip onto the side of the wall, attempting to walk forward again.

I’m successful this time, taking slow steps. Calum is patiently waiting right beside me. Once I get to the door of the rink, I look to Calum for help. He grins and steps over the barrier, onto the ice. His confident stance amazes me, he looks so comfortable on the ice.

I step onto the ice, still gripping the side of the wall. Once both of my feet are in the rink, I discover a whole new disorientation, and almost lose my balance again. Calum quickly skates to my side, helping me stay up straight.

After a few minutes go by I’m starting to get used to the odd feeling of standing on ice. I move my feet, and start to go forward, without falling on my face, surprisingly.

“Babe, let go of the wall, come out in the middle with me,” Calum says, grabbing my hand.

“I’m not sure Calum,” I give him a nervous look.

“I’ll be right here the whole time, I won’t let you fall,” His eyes meet mine.

I nod, trusting him completely, “Okay.”

I let go of the wall, grabbing Calum’s other hand. He grins, and starts to skate backwards pulling me towards him.

At first it goes smoothly, but when I try to move my feet with him, I lose my balance, and fall backwards onto my back. Because our hands are joined together, Calum falls with me, falling on top of me. I groan at my back hitting the cold ice.

“Oh god, I’m sorry!” He groans, rolling off of me, and leans over me.

“It’s okay,” I mumble, and sit up.

He quickly gets to his feet, and holds out a hand to me. I grab it, and try to get to my fee, but fail, because of the slippery ground. I fall over once again, pulling Calum down with me. This time, I start laughing. Calum joins me, laughing as well. He lies down next to me, grabbing my hand. We ignore the looks other skaters are giving us.

“If I lay here,

If I just lay here,

would you lie with me

and just forget the world.”

He starts to sing, and I laugh, singing with him.

“Oh god I love you,” I laugh, turning, and kissing him softly on the lips, a warm feeling spreading throughout my body, despite the cold ice we’re lying on.

“I love you too,” he mumbles against my lips.

Person: Calum Hood (5 Seconds of Summer)

Prompt: (from the fluff list) #5: ”You’re staring again,” and #11: “I’m going to marry you one day”

Word count: 266

Warnings: none

Someone requested this anonymously and didn’t put which list this was from so I just picked the ones that made the most sense together. Also, I’m sorry it’s so short and took so long, but I’ve been really busy with work and school and I don’t really have any motivation anymore ~skylar

I’m blessed. The reason I’m blessed every single morning of my life is that I get to wake up next to Calum hood. It’s probably my favorite part of my day. Some days I wake up and he’s wrapped around me with a death grip like he’ll never let go, other days I wake up and he’s snoring and drooling everywhere, but the best/funniest days are when I wake up late and I can just feel him looking at me. This morning is one of those times. Before I even open my eyes, I can feel the warm sun on my face and Calum’s eyes boring into me. “You’re staring again Calum,” I whispered. He gasped and when I finally did open my eyes he was holding his tightly closed which made me giggle. “You can’t fake it loser I already know you were creeping on me.” his face turned red and he opened his eyes and laughed. “I’m not a creep I just… you look so peaceful and I really love you and I’m glad I get to wake up next to you,” he leaned in and kissed my forehead. “And I swear I’m going to marry you one day,” I kissed him and cuddled up to him, “and we’re gonna have lots of little babies, and I’m going to love them all, and we’re going to raise them, and they’re gonna be little demon children just like us.” He smiled his cheeky little smile, “how does that sound baby?” he questioned. “perfect” I chuckled. He kissed my cheek and held me tighter. This is my favorite morning yet.
