To my fellow child abuse survivors,

You were not abused because you were “bad.” You were abused because they were an abuser and trying to justify their abusive behaviours.

PS: There is no justification for abuse.

one-abuse-survivor:

Reminder: the vast majority of abusers would not label themselves abusers. They would not label most (or any) of their actions as abusive. Not out loud, not even in their own minds.

The vast majority of abusers would adamantly deny it if you told them their actions are abusive. They’d fire back with a thousand reasons why their behaviour is perfectly normal and justified, why it’s your fault you feel hurt, and why you accusing them of being abusive is selfish or insane.

That doesn’t make their abuse any less real. It doesn’t make you any less of a victim or survivor.

Hopefully this can ease you a little bit on this day.

maybe fandom should not engage with the proceedings of an abuse case. just throwing it out there, because fandom inherently means having one side, being part of a group, which i’m sorry ends up meaning that a lot of people here (and i’ll include myself in this) are unable to process new information and will believe anything if it supports the side you are with

Ableists like furiousgoldfish amaze me because there is no winning. If we talk about our symptoms, we’re just admitting how abusive and evil we are. If we don’ttalk about our symptoms, we’re lying so we can better deceive and abuse people. The only way someone like them will “accept” us is if we’re dead.

According to people like this, there is no recovery for people with NPD. There is no support, there is no place where you can safely discuss your symptoms; if you develop NPD after a traumatic childhood, you’re a monster, should be kept from being able to reproduce, and are destined to do nothing but abuse until you die.

No offense or anything, but I don’t think it’s usthat sound abusive…

couropath:

Please, remember that furiousgoldfish is an ableist

a eugenics supporter on top of that

and a terf.

Addressing all my mutuals here, stop reblogging their posts about abuse, no matter how relatable they might feel to you out of context. They 100% include cluster B people and trans people in their definition of an abuser.

And the thing is Depp didn’t sue Amber bc he expected to win or get money he sued her because he wanted to turn public opinions against her and ruin her career as well. He’s using this trial like a fan event getting presents and waving while Amber is receiving death threats. No matter what the result of the trial will be, he already won. She’s the most hated person on the internet right now.

And even if she does win people would just twist the story to mean that nobody believe male victims of domestic violence when in reality if u check all the evidence depp is literally a violent loser who constantly lies. He admitted cutting his own finger up and lied about Amber defecating on his bed (which is already proven false) but his rancid fans jump on it and calling her names and sending her death threats. Whatever the outcome is, he already won. He’s fucking loaded too.

I’ve been thinking that too, that Depp probably went into it knowing he would most likely lose and WANTING to lose his pretty much unwinnable case, because then he can feed his victim narrative and insist that men are totally at a disadvantage in the justice system against women, which is rhetoric he’s already working on publicizing in podcasts before he’s even lost the case, teaming up with other notoriously violent and powerful celebrity men at it.

I kept telling bits and pieces to people who listened and yet it won’t go away. Maybe I should keep telling stories to the void until I am emptied eventually. Maybe it doesn’t happen that way.

Even here, there’s a lot more that happened but I can’t draw every single one.

+ I should clarify that when he pulled the car over, he had already been beating the crap out of me and he did so to get a better aim.

“Doctor Moreau is one of most scariest villans of media; he don’t look scary, he is goofy and childlike but he is abusive as hell, and merciless… he is just somebody you can met in real life.“

“Since his moment with Domi in Volume 2, Noé has had no nice and consensual blood-drinking moment. either he has been bitten by force (Ruthven and Chloe), either he has been forced/drugged/blackmailed to drink the blood of someone (Jean-Jacques and Misha). I hope that someone, not specially Domi, will give him nicely his blood at a point, because the poor boy deserves it so much.“

“People decry criticism by stating that Jeanne and Vanitas’ dynamic isn’t based in abuse, and that is completely true. What it is based in, however, is harassment and exploitation (nonconsensual intimacy, Vanitas secretly taking advantage of Jeanne’s curse to make her beholden to his blood, which is pleasurable for him). Their infatuation is a result of raw, forcibly damaged boundaries between thorny, cloistered, emotionally immature people. It’s not going to be good for either in the long run.“

“I just blitzed through VnC… I’m somewhat appalled to see people legitimately “"shipping”“ Vanitas and Jeanne, canonicity nonwithstanding, considering that it’s founded upon Vanitas disrespecting her/violating her boundaries in what could be called a form of self-harm towards himself given the way he prefers people who aren’t interested in him (repelled by him) given that it matches his internal self-image. Jeanne deserves better. When are people going to stop drooling over harassment dynamics?“

“Noé is so coddled by the fandom. People on here will write one line on how he was wrong for hurting

“Noé is so coddled by the fandom. People on here will write one line on how he was wrong for hurting a weak little 12 year old and people will seriously respond with an essay to say that no, a grown adult man violently harming a child is actually perfectly fine, and that we need to consider Noé’s side and issues. Problems of creating a likable character is that people refuse to believe they can ever cause harm. I also wish you guys would consider Misha’s side like you do Noé’s for once. He is a victim of sexual and physical abuse. He has been tortured. His brother literally killed their father. He has received no explanation on this and has no memory on what happened between his brother and father. He believes himself to be abandoned by his own brother. He has literally died once. He is like 12 years old. He is being manipulated. Misha’s love for Vanitas is UNDERSTANDABLE as Vanitas is the sole person in his life who’s treated him with care. Misha’s anger towards Vanitas is also perfectly JUSTIFIED because Vanitas MURDERED his father. The lack of sympathy VNC fans have towards Misha is unreasonable and I can’t relate to being so callous towards him. Now watch me get a call out for saying be sympathetic towards an abused kid and maybe don’t try to reason on why it’s okay for an adult to hurt an abused and suffering child. (I just know someone is gonna respond by saying “but noé was just-” and completely miss the point on what I’m saying)“

at the end of the day that man’s defenders have gone full qanon like it doesn’t matter what she says or how many photos of her bruises or the insane amount of property damage she has. it doesn’t matter that there are audio recordings of him screaming at her “you don’t exist” and telling her nobody will believe her or or admitting to head butting her or threatening to hurt himself while she begs him to stop. everyone jumped at the first chance to take their foot off this man’s neck so they wouldn’t have to face the reality that he’s a piece of shit and now they won’t see anything else. even the dumbass “mutual abuse” crowd refuses to acknowledge the way only one of them is being smeared and mocked relentlessly across the internet (and now on snl, apparently.) it doesn’t matter to them that her allegations against him were made in 2016, well before there was a mainstream metoo movement to “take advantage of”. it doesn’t matter! does anyone else feel like dying

imagine getting dunked on by Bob mackie

[tags read: I heard she was a dv survivor and the dress was the catalyst for an incident. I cannot verify this.]

i can verify some of this. yes Marilyn was mentally, emotionally and physically abused by a lot of higher ups in Hollywood, but specifically experienced domestic abuse from Joe DiMaggio. I don’t believe the dress discussed here was a catalyst, as she was just divorced from Arthur Miller when she performed in that dress, BUT

The famous dress scene in The Seven Year Itch, when she stands over the subway grate, WAS a catalyst for an incident of abuse from DiMaggio. She had to have makeup to cover up her bruises the next day. Here is one article that details it

there’s also a documentary called The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe that goes into more detail about the abuse she faced not only from her husbands, but from many Hollywood execs. They discuss the Seven Year Itch incident in this doc as well. (it’s on Netflix so if you wanna watch it, I would suggest p*rating)
