Day 24 - Favorite wig I’ve done. I love my Princess Jasmine wig!! I learned sooo much from this wig, but looking back there is a LOT I would do differently. While it looks great, it came out super heavy due to the cotton batting and tons of hot glue I used If I redid it, to get the shape I would probably use a combo of styrofoam, teasing, and tacky glue instead. My friend @phavorianne wore the wig for a Disney Princess swimsuit group, and @yayahan even complemented me on it during fanime one year . I made both my Jasmine costume and @lostsymbiote
’s Aladdin costume, and the base wig and all extensions used were from @ardawigs

Construction of Indiana Jones Adventure

Let’s take a trip to Disneyland back in 1993. Word was out that an incredible new attraction had just broken ground at Disneyland. This new attraction, “Indiana Jones Adventure - Temple of the Forbidden Eye” was going to set the bar for immersive theming and storytelling. When the attraction opened in 1995, guests waited hours for the chance to feel like they’re in an Indiana Jones movie. The immersive theming of a lost river delta is masterful, and this level of detail is carried through the entire attraction. Over 15 years later, the Indiana Jones Adventure remains a favorite among Disneyland guests, and continues to be one of the park’s iconic thrill attractions.

I wanted to dedicate space on Bear-ytales.blogspot.com to showcase the construction of this groundbreaking attraction. Living close to Disneyland gave me the opportunity to document this process long before digital cameras and websites made something like this commonplace. Sit back and enjoy this exclusive, and see how The Temple of the Forbidden Eye arose from the Disneyland parking lot.

We helped find lost treasure on Tom Sawyer’s Island and we even ride around the river in a raft! The lost treasure ended up being a very special Skull juju. One of the most influential Disney Imagineers, Dorothea Redmond’s work delights visitors of all ages who visit Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Even before joining Disney, Redmond had a long body of work as an art director and scenic illustrator for many classic films with RKO, Paramount, and Universal.

She joined Imagineering in 1964, starting work on the redesigning of The Plaza Inn at Disneyland. Since then, her contributions as a concept artist and designer can be found all around the parks: New Orleans Square, the Blue Bayou, Club 33, The Haunted Mansion (particularly the endless hallway), the Cinderella Castle murals, Disney World’s Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland, Fort Wilderness campground, and Epcot’s World Showcase.
