Hello hello to all the saucy heroes and villains (and otherwise) out there, we’re finally here and we want to give you a much-needed update on where we’ve been and what’s been going on.

First things first, preorders will be opening one week from today! Be dolled-up and stripped down because preorders go up next Friday, February 14th! Keep an eye our for our countdowns, previews, and preorder posts!

And now, to answer the important question: Where have we been? We’ll be honest, we definitely could have and should have done a better job communicating up to this point what’s been going on, and we’re deeply sorry for that. For a good chunk of time there, we were right on top of things. The contributors have given us absolutely stunning (and saucy) art, all completed on time, and working hard on the patreon so we can meet expenses faster. However, toward the end of the creation period, we hit a serious snag with merch, in that much of it (for a variety of reasons) could not be finished.

Folks, we hate to say this, but our silence thus far has mostly been over the merch and substantial losses to our team due to personal issues. Arguably, we could have dropped all merch and only offered PDF and physical zine sales, but enough merch work had been done that it would have been, to the mods, an unfair and substantial loss to not include that work. Well, after many long months navigating changing merch needs and personal issues (for everyone involved), we have finally gotten our shit together and are ready to bring you not only a great zine, but absolutely fabulous merch to boot. As we roll out preorders, we will be pushing to fill the last prompts and rewards for Patreon, and then we will be putting that to bed with a very hearty thanks to all you who graciously contributed to this project.

We are sincerely sorry for the radio silence and thank you all so, so much for your patience, kindness, and support through this process. We hope you all love the incredible work created here as much as we do. Stay saucy, y’all! <3

And I said, oh, I’m blinded by the lights… No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch. I’m drowning in the night… When I’m like this, you’re the one I trust.

We are excited to continue our online After Hours open houses this semester! Join the Special Collections Research Center on the second Tuesday of each month 4-5 pm for a virtual encounter with our collections. While all the events are online, we have offered an in-person option for the first session in the series. All are welcome to beam in and join us.

Our first event will take place next Tuesday 11 January from 4-5.30 pm EST and will feature a selection of Spanish Treasures at the University of Michigan Library.  The Special Collections Research Center holds an extraordinary collection of early printed books published in Spain from the fifteenth century onward. Particularly significant are the holdings illustrating the Golden Age of Spanish literature in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, that is, the so-called “Siglo de Oro,“ which includes world-renowned writers like Garcilaso de la Vega, Miguel de Cervantes, and Francisco de Quevedo. Curator Pablo Alvarez will provide a tour of artifacts as witnesses of how literary masterpieces such as El Lazarillo de Tormes or Don Quixote were published and read centuries ago, as well as additional documents illustrating some of the political and religious anxieties of Spanish society at that time, including books produced by the formidable Holy Inquisition.

Join us if you can!
