Bubbles the elephant and Bella the labrador are fast friends. The two orphans  live and play together happily at the Myrtle Beach Safari in California. Bubbles was rescued in Africa after ivory poachers killed her parents. Bella was abandoned at the park as a puppy by the contractor who built Bubble’s swimming pool. The two formed a strong bond through their shared love of swimming and Bubbles has even learned to throw a ball for Bella during a spirited game of ‘fetch’.

So sweet. Whenever the husky goes for a walk, he always stops to give his friend a hug ‘hello’.

Got jabbed!

I felt extremely ill for 24 hours and got nursed by Electra through my day in bed

Then I felt all better and super happy to be vaccinated

Yesterday Toronto held its 5th annual March to Close All Slaughterhouses! We were just one of the many marches organized in dozens of cities across five continents! Once again in Toronto we had an incredible turnout with about 800
people standing up and raising their voices for the rights of the animals whose own voices are violently silenced. This video was taken during the “die-in”, in which activists paused their marching to lay on the ground as a way to symbolically represent the deaths of the trillions of nonhuman persons killed each year for food alone, and to be with them in solidarity, as the actual recorded screams of animals inside slaughterhouses as they were dying and watching their friends die, were played over a loud speaker for all to hear. So not only did the activists scream at the top of their lungs and from the bottom of their hearts on behalf of the animals, they literally broadcast their unheard screams for all to hear, thus in some small, yet incredibly powerful way, giving them their voices back.
Here are the lyrics to the song, “Liberation” by Ernesto which was sung at the beginning of the march:
“Let me be free; free from your tyranny; it’s all I’ve ever wanted; it’s all I’ve ever wanted…. everyday they will try to convince you that humane murder is justified, but believe me I don’t want to die…. Be the voices of the silenced… let love guide you towards justice; cause I want to be happy, safe, and free; just happy, safe, and free….”

torontopigsave:

After literally years the Pig Trial will finally be coming to a close this Thursday March 9th 2017. Throughout the trial we have heard that Anita Krajnc, who has been criminally charged for giving water to a pig suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration in the summer of 2015, acted out of concern for the animals, as well as the environment, and the health of her fellow humans. Experts upon experts have testified on topics ranging from the environmental devastation of a non-vegan diet to the incredible emotional and cognitive intelligence of farmed animals such as pigs. This trial, which stemmed from an attempt to silence Toronto Pig Save, has brought international attention to the fight for animal rights, and since the first court date years ago, hundreds of groups have been created in countries all over the world and have joined The Save Movement. It is for these reasons that we can confidently say, though we do not yet know the legal outcomes of this trial, that we have won, for any advancement in the world’s compassion for nonhuman animals is a victory in our eyes.

Please join us outside of the Burlington courthouse one last time to show the world that you know that giving water to a suffering being, to show them compassion, is not a crime!!

Schedule:
8:00 am: Vigil at Fearmans slaughterhouse at the corner of Harvester Road and Appleby Line (821 Appleby Line, Burlington)

9:00-10:00 am: Vigil at the Burlington courthouse at 2051 Plains Rd E, Burlington, Ontario, L7R 5A5

10:00 am: Concluding arguments

A simultaneous slaughterhouse vigil will take place at Fearmans pig slaughterhouse, 10 minute drive from the courthouse.

If you are unable to attend, you can still follow! There will be live feed from both the courthouse and from the vigil on the Toronto Pig Savepage.
