During the month of May 2019, Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute (CIMWI), our all-volunteer nonprofit organization rescued 62 starving California sea lion pups and we are in a crisis situation providing medical and rehabilitation care for these animals. We continue to rescue more starving pups each day. We urgently need fish to fill our freezer so we can nurse these animals back to health and return them to the wild. Fish costs $1 a pound. Our goal is to raise $22,000.

CIMWI a 501©(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting conservation through marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation, research and education to promote ocean and human health. CIMWI serves Santa Barbara & Ventura counties in Southern California.

They rescue elephant seal pups too. These babies were rehabilitated and released just two days ago!

If you can help donate, here is the link for CIMWI’s donation page

If you don’t have any funds to spare but can spread the word that is helpful too!

Julius Caesar’s assassination site is now a home to homeless cats

Anyone who has visited Rome and its antique monuments has also seen their four-legged residents: the many stray cats that bask in the sun amid the ruins.

The Roman ruins at Torre Argentina are an oasis in the middle of the city’s chaotic traffic. The site is dotted with the broken columns of four ancient temples. It was here, at a theater designed as a meeting place for politicians, and the same site where archaeologists at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) claim that it’s exact site where Roman general Julius Caesar was stabbed to death in 44 BC – which is now a Roman Cat Sanctuary for homeless cats.

Furry Angel of Death? Meet Oscar the Death-Predicting Cat

Oscar was not Death coming for the old senile individuals. He was a sweet kitty who felt the need to comfort those who were dying. The feline would jump up on the patients’ beds and would curl up next to the ill.  He would show them love and affection when people needed it the most.

Former homeless cats becomes full time residents at a record store

Love Garden Sounds in Lawrence, Kansas seems like any other cool record stores. It’s been known for their cool stocks of various musical offerings.

Once inside the store, you might find yourself being stuck in there for a while not just because of browsing vinyls but also not being able to stop yourself from petting their purring employees/resident cats, Mickey Roy and Sam Cat.

Kitten paralyzed by botched microchip insertion might walk again

The kitten had to be microchipped as part of the adoption process. But soon her rescuer noticed something had gone horribly wrong. The kitten started acting lethargic, couldn’t walk properly and dragging his entire left side. She thought it was odd since it happened right after the placement of the microchip.
