Is what my shirt says. Now that I have your attention, let’s talk hips. As you can tell, I have pretty big ones. And I always have. I hated my hips and still have moments where I wish they were smaller. Do you know how hard it is to find things that fit when your ass and hips are 15 inches bigger than your waist?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I digress. I am so grateful for this #beyourownvalentine2019 challenge right now because normally after being sick for a few days and not being able to workout, I would have torn my body apart. I would have forced myself to workout no matter how badly I felt. Because I ‘had’ to. Even though my body was screaming at me to rest. Because I had to shrink my hips (and the rest of my body).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, because of this challenge, this time when I caught glimpse of my sick ass self in the mirror with my pizza shirt and Star Wars boxers - I didn’t hate what I saw. I don’t look any different after not working out for a few days. I’m actually getting better quicker than I usually do. Because I have been listening to my body and not kicking it when it’s down and needs to rest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Dear Natasha’s Tummy,

I know we have had a love/hate relationship pretty much our entire lives, but let’s try and make it a love/love relationship. I love that you’re soft and squishy, enough so that you are my husband’s favorite pillow. You may be riddled in scars and stretch marks, but that’s what makes you you. No one else has marks identical to yours. I love that your belly button is identical to my dad’s, so deep you can stick like half a finger in there. We are a carbon copy of our father for sure. I know sometimes I say I hate you. That I hate how you have loose skin and you won’t go away no matter what I do. But that skin is a symbol of what we have accomplished together, and I’m working on loving it. My favorite thing is how strong you are - although it might not look like it, the core strength and abdominal muscles underneath that layer of goodness is strong af and helps us so headstands all day every day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So thank you. Thank you for being there even though I sometimes say I wish you were gone. Maybe one day you will be, or at least a little smaller, but know that I love you (or at least try to) at any size.

Day Four of #beyourownvalentine2019 - Goals. It’s time for a goal check in! We are just over a month into 2019. How are you doing with the goals you set for this year? Did you know that people who write down their goals are 80% more likely to accomplish them?! Make 2019 your year. Because you love yourself, baby!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your challenge for today is to, if you have not already, write down your goals for 2019. I recommend splitting it into Health/Career/Personal categories. At least 2 for each category! Make sure you are examining the WHY behind each goal and that WHY is a healthy, positive reason FOR YOU. Not for anyone else.
