You noticed Taehyungs twitchy behavior ever since you arrived at the restaurant, but you just thought it was out of excitement. Until you saw him looking around with frantic eyes while bouncing his leg at an abnormally face pace. You went out for dinner with the rest of the guys which was RM’s idea to celebrate New Years and their success for the past year.

Taehyung took your hand and led it to his clothed manhood which stuck out like a sore thumb. Looked at him, trying not to make it obvious but you could tell he was pleading for you to help him calm down. “Please.” he whispered, and you couldn’t say no to him with the state he’s in. You rubbed your hand over him as you continued to talk with about their New Years performance.

You heard quite moans coming from the side he was at as he carefully took of his belt, trying not to make any noise. He guided your hand into his underwear, and you took him into your hand and started to stroke him, causing him to shift under you also making him to release light moans.

“Hey, im gonna go check on our food.” Jimin anounced while getting up from his seat. “Can you all go? I need to talk to Y/N about something private.” Taehyung asked, trying to keep his cool why doing so. “Sure, why not.” RM replied and moved all the guys to go see if the food they ordered is coming.

“Poor baby.” You whispered into his ear, slightly quickening your pace. “What happened to you?” “Im horny, okay?” Taehyung said stiffly, panting as you slowly hastened your stroking pace. “And you need my help?” You asked, going faster and faster. His eyebrows furrowed as he groaned. “I need you.” 

“Perfect.” You whispered, going as fast as you can. Whatever Taehyung was dealing with, it was bad. He could usually last longer than this, but you were enjoying the fact that he needed your help because it usually was the other way around.

Taehyung was squirming under you until he released himself all over your hand. “Good boy.” You praised, giving him a peck on the cheek and buckled his pants for him. You licked his release of and wiped your saliva off your hand before whipping out your phone. 

“Seriously? Alright, im on my way. Bye” You pretended as the guys approached the table. “I really apologize but me and Tae have to go.” You apologized while packing your things up. “Oh, thats fine. Thanks for coming.” RM smiled before you and Taehyung rushed off

“Where are we going?” Taehyung asked. “Home. Im not done with you yet.”

XD You’re definitely the most thirsty for Suga who by far had the most requests, and least so for poor Jin. Overall there’s SIX PAGES of requests, not including ships!! Many of my friends know that I am an avid ARMY (BTS fan). Last week, one of my close friends and I were talking about the concert that I recently went to, and stumbled upon the topic of idolization of BTS. As he looked at the numerous posters that occupied my dorm room walls, he asked me whether I would ever be able to criticize the group if they ever exhibited potentially controversial behaviors. I confidently answered yes, but knew internally that it would take a lot for me to find fault in my favorite group that frankly takes a large part in sustaining my life at Dartmouth. That subconscious thought was challenged today.

My roommate and I watched an interview BTS did with Buzzfeed UK over dinner. Here is the link to the article/video: https://www.buzzfeed.com/…/which-member-of-bts-are-you-quiz…. You can watch the whole thing or skip to 1:25. To provide a little bit of context, BTS took the “Which Member of BTS Are You?” quiz to see if their results actually matched up. I do want to make the point that I know this quiz was not to be taken seriously, as how can answering a couple of questions (such as, “What type of house is your dream house?”) predict which 1 out of 7 complex individuals you are. Anyways, one of the questions was, “Pick a Karaoke Song.” Among the list were songs like New Rules, In My Feelings, Love Lies, and This Is America.

J-Hope, the last member to pick a song, chose This Is America, and immediately started singing and dancing the hook. One of the members (unclear who because the camera focused on J-Hope) replaces the lyrics “Don’t catch you slippin’ up” with “Did you order donkatsu” (Tonkkasŭ shik'yŏnnya) in Korean. Other members proceeded to follow up and repeat this melody/Korean phrase, seemingly unaware of their actions. Truthfully, the Korean phrase sounded so similar to the original lyrics that my roommate (who is a non-Korean-speaking African-American female) did not even catch that they were replacing the lyrics upon first watch. However, I noticed this and promptly paused the video. I explained the situation to her and then asked for her thoughts. She was mainly frustrated because she felt that the song, which has a serious message, was not being taken seriously by BTS. She was also bothered by the fact that only a select group of ARMYs (socially aware Korean-English bilinguals) would notice and understand what happened in those fleeting seconds.

In an NPR analysis of This Is America, Music Hip-Hop journalist Rodney Carmichael stated, “I think in a lot of ways what Glover is trying to do is really bring our focus and our attention to black violence, black entertainment [and] the way they’re juxtaposed in society.” The song has further highlighted the ongoing process of publicly discussing concealed racism, and as someone living in the United States, I appreciated the song’s impactful message. Because of this precise reason, when BTS started casually replacing the lyrics into a trivial Korean phrase, I felt that they were being disrespectful to both the artist and the work itself.

Contextually, I understand that BTS was not mocking or meaning harm in any way, and they were just having fun while singing a bop. However, as they have become very influential public figures, I think they should be more cognizant of their actions. I say this because the reason why I appreciate them as artists is because they advocate for important societal issues, such as discrimination, mental health, abuse, etc. As a group who partly gained respect for taking a firm stance on such issues, I think the actions they took in the video were not entirely appropriate. Even in the recent speech that RM (BTS’s leader and someone I adore) made at the United Nations General Assembly, he said, “We have learned to love ourselves, so now I urge you to ‘speak yourself.’ No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, gender identity: speak yourself.” Because they have such a huge international following, I personally feel that it would be valuable for them to have basic awareness of worldly issues. Basically, practice what you preach, BTS.

I do want to acknowledge that people may think that I am an easily offended individual; some may defend them by saying, “They were just having fun,” “They don’t speak the language,” “They may not be aware of the depth and complexity of social issues in the United States specifically.” However, the frustration is that while there appears to have been no malicious intent, I felt the impact of their actions.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

It’s been an hour. One whole hour and he hasn’t arrived. The lady with the bright red lipstick on the table next to you cast you a judgmental stare as she left contently with her husband. You sighed heavily trying to ignore the looks of pity and sympathy that seemed to burn holes in your blue strapless dress.

“Good evening ma’am, what would you like tonight?”

You shot her a look of apology and tried and sound to look optimistic. “Sorry for the inconvenience but would you be able to come back later?”

The waitress nodded gave you a small smile as if to say, it’s okay, and hurried away to tend to other tables.

You turned on your phone. No texts. No calls. No messages. You pressed on his number again and held the phone to your ear.

“The person you have called is not available, please try your call again later or leave a message after the beep.”

Beep

Bringing your trembling hand down you pressed the end call button. You clutched your phone in your hands, too numb at the prospect to say anything. It was more than just a mere Valentine’s Day, it was your second anniversary. Was this his indirect way of ending the relationship? The relationship that you had cherished and made sure to maintain because you love him?

The relationship that had seemed so perfect when he surprised you with roses and teddies and flowers and the occasional shimmering necklace or bracelet. Like the time when he filled up your car with gas while you were asleep then left overly sweet notes on the windshield. Or the time when he covered the stairs leading to your apartment up to your bed with roses and at the end of the trail of roses sat none other than your man himself whom you then made sweet love to. He was a gentleman, always early to dates, always had presents in hand, always made sure he was there when you needed him most.

The scraping of chairs around you brought you back to your senses and you picked up your phone and purse, ready to leave. It was a waste of your time sitting here, waiting for the man who wasn’t going to come.

You looked around the restaurant where the romantic glow of candlelight dinners spilt on the couple’s faces. They stared into each other’s eyes lovingly, too romantic for your liking but you would trade anything in the world to be in their position right now. A few of them turned towards you curious as to why you were standing there for so long. Some stared, some turned quickly back to their food but on each of their faces you saw a flash of empathy or was it pity?

Just as you were about leave, the waitress approached you again.

“Are you sure you don’t want to order anything before you leave, ma’am?”

“Yes, I’m sure. My date didn’t show up.” The corners of your lips lifted but it looked more like a grimace.

She nodded and moved aside to let you pass.

“Oh my gosh, sorry I’m so late babe. The traffic was sooo crazy, you wouldn’t believe it.” He gushes as he takes a seat opposite you. You stared at him. At the man sitting there, grinning sheepishly at you and the waitress, who smiled with obvious relief.

“I’ll come back later to take your orders.” She said as she made a quick exit.

“Just go with it, yeah? Whoever that didn’t show up is a dick.” He smiled at you.

You nodded slowly, eyes wide as your face spread into a smile. The dimples in his face deepened as he watched you, his head resting in his hands.

He’s cute, you thought before releasing yourself into the little bubble of happiness and relief he had unknowingly created.

You told me we were the perfect song,

so I continued to sing along.

 "I like when others feed me,“ Jungkook laughs. 

"I’ll feed you if you feed me,” Tae says while smiling. 

“But then what would be the purpose? I asked you to feed me so that I wouldn’t have to-" 

"Just do it!” Tae rolls his eyes.

“Yes, I have to be there before everything starts. Love you!” You exclaim while rushing out the door. A small black car awaits you patiently, you hop into the passenger side and see that your friend, Sadie, is your driver. “What a coincidence,” Sadie jokes.
“Oh please, I called you,” You giggle.
“You look good,” She eyes your outfit.
“Do I? I almost had an anxiety attack, I thought I looked awful.”
She sighs as she drives off, “He called me asking where you were. He says he’s angry ‘cause you’re ignoring him.”
You freeze, “You’re kidding?”
“Check your phone.”
You check your phone to see 8 missed calls from Suga. Oh, great. “How?!”
“Better clear that up,” She shakes her head.
“I’ll do it when we get there. I’d rather be face-to-face with him.”

Sadie drops you off. You’re a bit nervous, Suga doesn’t take things lightly. As you walk into the building, you can hear people screeching and shouting. You look around realizing they’re getting excited over you.
"Y/N!” A man gasps, you know him to be the owner of the building, “We’ve been waiting for you.”
“Have you? Where’re the guys?”
“They’re already on stage!” He nudges you to hurry.
You wobble as fast as you can in your dress. He leads you backstage, “You can wait here,” he says.
You sit in a chair, sulking over the fact that you promised him you’d be there early and you’re late, now your seats taken, he’s probably angry with you, and you’re exhausted. Something catches the corner of your eye, the exit where the performers go out onto the stage. You can hear shouting and screaming, it makes you feel worse. You walk toward the exit and the screaming gets louder. That’s when you hear it, you hear Suga’s voice.
You smile, seeing how handsome he looks. “Where’s Y/N!” You hear someone shout.
Your jaw clenches, you can’t just go out there and embarrass yourself, he’s mad at you.
“Maybe she has diabetes from having so much Suga,” Jin jokes, making you snort from laughter. A common thing you do when Jin tells a joke. You don’t realize how loud you are laughing when everything in the place goes quiet and a bright light blinds you. You try to hide but it’s too late.
“Y/N?” Suga’s eyes widen.
“Suga…” You slightly smile.
He runs to you, swooping you up in his arms. His embrace comforts you, “I thought you forgot about me.”
“Never!” You screech.
“I missed you so much,” He holds your face, pulling you in for a kiss. Everyone in the arena screams and shouts, you feel your face grow red but he doesn’t care.
“What about your message to Sadie?” You frown your mouth.
“I was so worried about where you were, I couldn’t stay mad at you.”
