You know what, even IF trans girls were universally better at sports than cis girls, they should still be allowed to play on their high school sports teams because the mental health and well-being of trans kids, the social support kids get from sports, and the societal benefit of basic inclusion and normalization of trans kids are more important than who wins a volleyball game or whatever

You plainly value men over women, because you think that the mental health of males with sexist identities matters more than the mental health of the teen girls and young women who have to compete with them.

How do you think an exceptional girl who can’t make her team because some mediocre male took her spot feels? You don’t care or think about her at all. It’s like women aren’t even oppressed to you.
And yeah, you’re right, there are girls and women who will accept the males on their team in order to fit in and appear kind and supportive, because girls and women are socialized to coddle male feelings, to make sacrifices for male benefit. That’s part of our oppression as women. We are always supposed to settle for less so that males can have more. I went back and forth on what to share, but I decided to go with my fic Dream by the Fire, even though it’s a Christmas story and completely out of season, because it comes with the bonus of being able to rec the amazing podficthat@atgranger did of it!
This story is 11K words of fluff in the form of coffee shop owner Harry, Magic/Muggle historian Draco, and Draco’s tattoos, which are imbued with sense-memories. When I was writing it, I had a lot of fun with taking my own practice of using tattoos to tell my story, projecting it onto Draco, and then dialing it up a notch with ✨magic✨.
Excerpt:
“Right. How about…” Malfoy pushed his right sleeve up, exposing part of his upper arm. “This one.” He indicated a Slytherin crest on his tricep. Harry laughed.
“Sure, why not.” He pressed two fingers against the skin, lightly goosebumped from its exposure to the cool air. Harry spoke the incantation, and he was under.
The sensations were unfamiliar, and not as straightforward as those of the snitch tattoo. It tasted a bit like absinthe, but also expensive chocolates. The scent was cool, damp stone and crackling wood fire. The emotions were harder—pride and belonging, but also a sort of… separateness that he couldn’t quite quantify. “Huh,” he said as he came out of it. “That was a bit more complicated than I expected.”
“I have complicated feelings about it,” Malfoy replied.

Kirsten answers after the second ring, when Rachel’s barely had enough time to put a light to her cigarette and inhale a whole lungful of instant calm. She can hear the laugh in Kirsten’s voice, like she’s just been joking around with someone and a frown digs between Rachel’s brows because she could do with a bit of that herself. Or a lot, as it were, considering the day she’s had. Kirsten always greets her with a smile that’s genuine and Rachel finds herself needing it more than ever right now.
She’s more than a bit faffed off at the thought Kirsten’s on her jollies with someone else, though. That she’s been having fun with someone else and -
“You interrupted me right in the middle of a bravura performance,” Kirsten tells her, and giggles in a way that makes Rachel smile fondly before letting her head fall back until it bumps gently against the seat. “I was singing my heart out when you popped up on the display.”
Why does Tonks’s character apparently get ruined when she becomes a mother but Dad!Remus is so glorified in the fandom?
And what’s best, Tonks is also reduced to a surrogate in the fandom yet somehow it’s getting married and having a child that ruins her character?
Tonks as a mother is so underappreciated (when she was pregnant during a war and then went to a battle days later after giving birth to try and help to make a better world for him) but she’s so hated for it? Why do people have so much hate for “badass” women who get married and have children as if those women can’t be badass? A woman can be a badass no matter if she’s married or not, has children or not, aka just always. Her character didn’t get “ruined” or “reduced to a housewife”. You’re just dumb
it’s SO disgusting that around 125 citizens in Iraq were killed this weekend while celebrating the end of their holy month of Ramadan and there was ZERO talk about it. Big news companies such as ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc. mentioned the devastating attacks like once? maybe twice? Hell, even celebrities didn’t even mention it. After the Paris attacks, numerous celebrities sent their condolences to Paris and some even changed their profile pics on social media to a pray for paris picture.
We all know why no one is mention the tragic events that occurred. Iraq being a Muslim country makes people see it in a negative light which is just soo ?????? People claim they’re not Islamophobic, yet when they are silent after something as horrific as this happens, their claims are hard to believe.
Don’t even say it’s not because Iraq is a Muslim that no ones expressing concern because I’m pretty sure if 125 Christians were killed on Easter weekend in a Western country, the news outlets would go crazy and people would be tweeting their condolences left and right. People would blame Muslims and call every single one of them terrorists (which isn’t true and here’s something: ISIS apparently claimed responsibility for the attacks in Iraq, so tell me again how ISIS only targets people who aren’t Muslim).
I am just so angry and disgusted at the media and at today’s society. My heart goes out to Iraq, the families, and anyone else who has been affected by this tragedy.
