Scottish regional carrier Loganair’s ATR 42 ‘Clan Calder’ arrives on short final for Runway 33 at Birmingham Airport, running a Sunday evening service from Aberdeen with LM67. Loganair operates a handful of ATR 42 turboprops alongside the stretched ATR 72 on it’s predominantly domestic network of destinations. Delivered to the airline in May 2020, G-LMRC is an ex- Air Littoral, Air Botswana and Hop! machine, flying as F-GPYB until it’s recent arrival on the UK register. Ruth and Leonard Horwich, longtime fixtures in Chicago society, were avid collectors of art—in particular, works by Alexander Calder. (Ruth was photographed in 1978 for T&C in her living room surrounded by the artist’s signature mobiles.) In 1967 the Horwiches helped found Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and after Leonard died Ruth donated 15 Calders to its collection.

Calder: You know what? Forget it, I’m not even shocked anymore.

Shallow: Oh that’s no fun.

Calder: This has become the norm for you two.

Deep: We’ll have to try harder next time.

Calder: Please don’t.

Shallow: I feel like we’ve been issued a challenge.

Dow: Calder, I’ve met a lot of pricks in my life.

Dow: But you are a fucking cactus.

Scale: My little brother figured out he can put sticky notes on people’s backs

Scale: He doesn’t know they’re supposed to say stuff like “kick me” so they only have animal facts on them

Calder: Don’t worry! Any enemy coming after you will have to go through me first!

Seff: I will treasure those three extra seconds.

Shivers: I know no one asked for my advice—

Calder: Yet you’re still talking.

Shivers: —but I agree with Calder.

Calder: Let’s hear him out!

Sneak-peek of Blue-Blooded upcoming demo part two! Thank you for following our development & we hope you enjoy this extract as well.

alt text under cut:

[alt: For the first time, Calder did not face you when he spoke. He simply looked on, gaze averted, as though the etched-out words on the statue of the temple would become legible to him if he stared long enough. You couldn’t help but notice that even from the side he could easily have been a statue himself, sculpted by the hands of another. Finally, he turned to look back at you and spoke, his eyes holding a somber glaze, “We’re firewood and dreams are a spark.”

A pause.

“They may appear beautiful and bright, bring us warmth and lend us light, but even a single spark can ignite an uncontrollable fire.” There was something— an emotion, a feeling— indecipherable to you behind his words. His eyes wander to Valens, who has their back turned to both of you.

“And it consumes you, without mercy.” ]

The third official extract of the Blue-Blooded demo, we’re looking at a release date sometime within these upcoming weeks; thank you, everyone, for your support.

alt text under cut:

[ “Why?”

That was the first time you’d heard Valens speak since arriving, and their airy voice sounded heavier than iron as it fell upon the palpable silence in the throne room. Sibyl took an audible gulp beside you, doe-like eyes set on Valens and teeming with concern as they tried to predict what misfortune could possibly befall you next. You glanced over to Calder, but he was avoiding your gaze. Valens dared to take a step towards the throne, their stormy gaze never once wavering from the Crown.

“If it is us you fear, why not rid yourself of all of us, why gather us here instead?”

Sibyl’s mouth fell agape at the implication of Valens’ words. Were they… Asking Eris to kill us?

Sibyl’s head swiveled to you, checking to see if you were in the same state of disbelief as them. A pause. Then, Eris’ cackle rang in your ears. Hand demurely over their mouth, they kept laughing whilst staring Valens down, finally rising to their feet and approaching your group, their shoes clicking against the cold marble floor every step of the way. They stopped an arms-length away from Valens. Their laughter faded into a hoarse chuckle until it completely ceased and they simply smiled crookedly.

“Why, you can shear the wool off a sheep many times, but you can only skin it once.”

Their finger reached under Valens’ chin, “And by the looks of it, I can hope to make any shepherds jealous.” ]
