Clara Peeters.
Belgium-The Netherlands.
16th-17th centuries.
One of the Flemish painters who started de still-life paintings in her hometown.
She was recognise for being incredibly meticulousand for her habit of hidding tiny self-portraits in the reflections of the metallic objects of her still-lifes. I consider this a proof of her masterful technique, and also of a great sense of humour.
She was the firsts woman to have an individual exhibition at the Museo del Prado.
