Aight well this small fic I’m busting out before the deadline for the Player Appreciation Week is more than a small thing and is now like 6k but hey it made me relive an event from my past that made me tear up so I guess that’s something.
I want to do something short for Player Appreciation Week, preferably regarding Chase, Julia or Team Red, or even them all combined (with Player as the focus ofc). But I’m lost on ideas. Just something simple, light hearted that isn’t too technical. But I’m just stumped. I keep rehashing the same thoughts over and over again and nothing is peaking my interest. Anyone got any ideas?
I hc that Zack filmed as much as he could during the 2 year time jump so that when they were to meet Carmen again, he would be able to catch her up with everything that went down. Most of it would include typical antics, resembling more of an assortment of chaotic funniest home video-esk clips with a few sweet moment tossed in for good measure.
He would enlist Player to turn it into an ‘ACME Family’ Highlight reel. Sending him snippets of good content, in his opinion, through the years. And without a doubt a whole section of it would be dedicated to pranks on Chase or just clips of Zack angering/disappointing Devineaux to the point of no return, over and over.
Essentially, Zack is a master of capturing every instance where he is being reprimanded or pissing of either Chase, Julia or even Ivy. He would find it hilarious. And sometimes, a nice family style moment to round it off, a lot of them being wildly invasive of others personal space.
Either that or just a heap of video selfies during the worst possible moment resulting in a montage of Zack’s face in different locations with the other team members disjointed in the background while he gives the camera a peace sign.
The most physically canon CS fact I can think of and manifest post s4ep 8 during the 2 year time jump that would have 100% occured is that during the very first time Zack went (or was allowed) into Julia’s apartment, he spilt an entire full jar of lime green glitter glue slime on her carpet and then tried to blame it on Chase and/or Ivy when the horrified Julia found the massive green and sparkly stain on her carpet after he failed to inconspicuously toss a throw pillow onto it to hide it. Do note, this all occured within the first 10 minutes of entering her place and subsuquently being left alone for 2 seconds.
What way Ipersonallythink certain Carmen Sandiego characters ‘’sway’’ and occasionally ill explain myself as to why:
Coach Brunt: She’s a, Raging, Cajun, Queer woman. You know, like that country song, yee yee. She can definitely operate heavy-duty farm equipment and works out in strictly matching sweatsuits, no straight explanation for that sorry. But I can’t nail anything down specifically, but she is fruity.
Shadowsan: Okay so I’m saying straight under the guide that he physically doesn’t have TIME FOR IT. He FINALLY got some time off after 60+ years?
Chief: exists somewhere out there. And has a cat. *raises brows with suspicion*
Julia: Pansexual because she’s naturally a very analytical and sensing person who likes to find out every piece of information she can before making a properly informed decision and I just feel like she’d need to see the person for who they are, completely, warts and all before she can or wants to FULLY go for it. Such being not a long process because she’s so observant. Also, she can get flustered easily by ANYONE with an ounce of charm. Bless xx.

Chase: Messy Bisexual or at the very least, 10000% queer in some way. If anyone came up to him, no matter their orientation/presenting and said ‘I think you’re handsome’ or even, ‘Hey, you did a really good job today, I’m proud.’ He’d bat his eyes, press his pointer fingers together while twisting his foot with blushed cheeks going: ‘hehe, reallyyyy???!!! ☞ ☜(◕‿◕✿)’ and you can’t say I’m wrong.
Neal: Has a New Zealander accent and that’s all that matters.
Gray: He an Australian tradie and therefore, by law, he is contractually obligated to be straight. And I know this because I’m Australian.
Mimebomb: Hasn’t told me anything because he doesn’t speak so I don’t know, sorry.
Carmen: Aro/Ace/Bixesual: Either or all. No matter what, she’s miles behind on all that considering her upbringing and her entire focus is really all about self-discovery and assurance, which is what I think is most important to her and would be a long while before she delves into that sort of thing. But she’s also a massive flirt so ;) who did she learn that from, I need answers.
Dash: Gay, but wants to be and be with Cleo simultaneously.
Sheena: An Aggressive Lesbian, as in, she’d throw you against a wall then bite her lip saying: ‘DAM baby that was kinda of hot how you nearly died by my hand and all’. And she uses a lot of puns and word play which is kinda…. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm….. If you get me.
Player: A child. I’ll let him figure all that stuff out for himself.

Zack: Too busy filling water balloons and playing real-life hot wheels. I’m kidding, but seriously. He is 100% a party animal with all that new ACME money so who knows tbh. I sure as hell don’t. Tony Stark without the crippling ego
Ivy: Lesbian.
Zari: Lesbian.
Bellum: They/Them Aro/Ace and is an Ipad kid. At the very least would worship someone like Cleo because they fascinate them completely.
What I think particular Carmen Sandiego characters favourite movie(s) are and I won’t be explaining why but I also will:
Julia: Pride & Prejudice + Sense & Sensibility exclusively watched one after the other and HATES the TV adaption of Pride & Prejudice with a PURE. BURNING. PASSION. And thinks Emma was a good try for that same vibe.
Player: Megamind and 9, claiming that they both shared the sad fate of poor timing and being for a more intelligent audience than they were marketed for.
Carmen: Nothing in particular because everything she watches never really takes her fancy and always finds a flaw in the production of the movie that ruins it for her. Due to this, she Is constantly watching new movies and never re watches the same one twice.
Gray:sigh marvel movies…
Chase: The Grand Budapest Hotel because Wes Anderson style movies are the only pure and constant mental stimulateion in his life that end with true satisfaction. And it’s a murder mystery. And it’s a great movie. And that one scene where Gustav runs away after being questioned if he was the murderer always gets him to laugh.
Ivy: The only person in history who liked Cars 2.
Zack: 2008’s Speed Racer because. Well. Saying something like Fast and Furious just doesn’t make sense for him somehow. And Spiderman 3. Only Spiderman 3.
Shadowsan: Doesn’t watch movies anymore ever since Zack showed him Barnyard :(.
Zari: Horror. And Fight Club. I feel like she’d scoff at you and say that if you don’t like it then you clearly don’t understand how it’s a ‘methphor for punching through the insulation that you put around yourself’ despite religiously eating chicken, broccoli and rice every night for dinner.
Sheena: ONLY watches Netflix movies. The idea of clicking out a DVD disc and putting it carefully into a DVD player and continuing to press 'play movie’ is disgusting to her.
Paper Star: Does not consume video media.
Brunt: Dodgeball or anything with Ryan Reynolds in it I dunno.
Cleo: Finds movies uncivilised and exclusively watches stage performances. But in a perfect world I’d say The Devil Wears Prada because Miranda Presley seems like someone she’d know in real life.
Bellum: Instagram reels.
Chief: Documentaries that you can only buy at the post office or via mail-in from the Readers Digest monthly magazine.
Gray is calm and friendly to everyone, so it would be easy to join them, unless they tease him.
Zack might pretend to be dignified at first, but Gray’ll agree that too. He’ll react well at every Zack’s interest. Soon, Zack’ll like him very much (with the twinkle eyes), and they’re gonna be boy-bffs.
Ivy must tease him. She’ll call him as a nickname, something like ‘Pretty’ or 'Previous V.I.L.E. member’ (saying loudly), etc. Then Gray’ll be confused, so he would talk to Carmen, “Maybe your friends… don’t like me.” Carmen won’t tell him the truth, just saying “Maybe or maybe not.” and enjoying the situation.
Shadowsan already knows Gray’s personality, so he’ll know Gray won’t try to hurt Carmen anymore. However, he’s gonna whisper to him, “I will silently bury you if you try to hurt her.”
Player may say “It’s Red’s decision, but… Know that I’m watching you.” And He ACTUALLY WATCHES Gray, with the GPS, cctv, hacked phone and so on. But soon, he’ll stop. Cause after Gray quit V.I.L.E. , his most evil behavior is just… such as listening to hard rock music or something.
At this point, Gray might feel little lonely, until they call him 'one of our family’.
