Chapter 3

S2Episode Three

SUMMARY: Y/N and Stiles keep getting cockblocked. The pack goes ice skating. Y/N can’t stop resisting the urge to use her powers.

WORD COUNT: 7000 (damn wtf i went OFF with this chapter. had so much fun writing this omg)

TW: Sexual language, cursing, blood. What else is new bitches

“A tail?” You furrowed your brow as you looked over at Stiles. “Like a dog tail? Did it wag?”

“What? Only you would ask if it wagged,” He stopped to look at you with sass. “No, it did not wag, and no, it was not like a dog tail! Scott said it was almost.. lizard-like.”

“Gross,” You mumbled.

“Anddangerous,” Stiles deadpanned, looking up at Scott and Allison. You both stood in silence for a moment before he spoke up again. “So about last night-”

“Oh my god,” You blushed, hiding behind your hands. “I’m so sorry about that. I seriously don’t know a bigger buzzkill than my mom.”

“I was gonna call her a cock block but that works too,” He smiled before taking your wrists into his hands and lowering them before looking into your eyes. “Hey, it’s alright! Don’t be embarrassed. I get it. She came home early and found you gone so you had to leave. I’m not in any rush. We can do this on your time.”

“You mean my mom’s time?” You groaned. “At least my dad’s coming home tonight. I don’t know if I could stand another day with her crazy ass.”

“Your dad’s coming home?” He perked up. “Oh, we are so going to his apartment tonight! He’s making dinner, right?”

“Yup, some sort of pasta I think,” You laughed. “You know you’re always welcome! He’s like in love with you.”

“Are you kidding? I’m the one who’s in love with him!” He smiled, making you giggle and roll your eyes. “Seriously! He’s the coolest person I know.”

“Hey!” You protested.

“I said what I said,” He shrugged, chuckling boyishly as you pushed him away.

“Alright, Y/L/N, Erica! You’re up!” Coach called as Allison climbed down.

“Saved by the bell, asshole!” You joked before walking up to the rock climbing wall. You strapped on the safety rope and looked over to see Erica nervously fumbling with it. “Here let me help. These things are so awkward.”

“Thanks,” She smiled, facing you so you could buckle her into the strap. You nodded once before making your ascent to the top. Though it was far from effortless, it was your favorite day in gym class so you had fun climbing. You hopped down again and raised your arms with pride.

“WOO!” Stiles shouted, making those around him jump as he looked over to Greenberg. “That’s my girlfriend!”

You laughed and blushed at the scene he was making before you look over to see Erica was still gripping at the middle of the wall, clenching for dear life as she hyperventilated. Your eyes widened as everyone approached.

“Erica!” Coach called, running up next to you. “Dizzy? Is it vertigo?”

“Vertigo’s a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear,” Lydia scoffed before looking up in annoyance. “She’s just freaking out.”

“Would it kill you to be a little nicer?” You returned her tone, making her eyebrows shoot up. She opened her mouth to speak before Coach spoke up again.

“Erica!”

“I’m fine,” Her voice trembled.

“Coach, maybe it’s not safe. You know she’s epileptic,” Allison informed.

“Wh-Why doesn’t anybody tell me this stuff?!” He huffed before looking at you. “Y/L/N, climb up there and tell her to kick from the wall! Just coax her down. Kick her off if you need to!”

You nodded before making your way up again, stopping right next to her.

“Hey, hey, you’re okay,” You smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder as you leaned against the rope. “Look, this thing’s pretty safe. I’ll climb down with you. Just tell me when you’re ready.”

She nodded and hesitantly let go of the rocks, quickly gripping the rope. You smiled. “There you go. Now just hop down like this.”

Her shaky breath relaxed a bit as she watched you descend slowly, following your lead. Once she landed, Coach began to speak to her softly and tried to soothe her before the crowd of students erupted in howls of laughter. Erica looked around before walking off in shame, making your heart drop at the sight.

“Thanks, Y/N,” Coach pat your back before dismissing the class. You all rushed to the locker rooms for a quick shower. Lydia gave you the cold shoulder for your comment so you stuck with Allison, waiting in the hallway for your boyfriends.

———

“What do mean tonight’s not a good idea?!” Stiles asked as he changed into another shirt.

“I don’t know. That thing that we saw last night, Isaac missing, Allison’s grandfather- All this stuff happening with Derek just doesn’t feel right. Y/N told me she had a bad feeling about something. I mean what are the odds?” Scott responded as he closed his locker.

“No, you’re not backing out! Do you wanna know why?” Stiles stood his ground. “Because you and Allison are obviously having quite a good time together. And you know who else wants to have a good time? Stiles! Stiles wants to have a good time. And for that matter, so does his girlfriend! Many, many times. Several times in a row. In several different positions!”

“Dude! Spare me the details, that’s basically my sister you’re talking about,” Scott cringed. “Besides, I thought you were gonna have a good time last night?”

“We were! We were on the fast track to having said good time. But I only got to like second base and a half before her mom called and told her to get her ass home!” Stiles sighed before realizing Scott’s aloof face. “Are you even listening to me?! This is serious!”

“Y/N,” He muttered before looking up with panic.

“Yes. I am talking about Y/N. Who the hell else would I be talking about?!” Stiles shouted before looking at Scott’s shaking hands and sighing. “What is that?”

“I think something’s wrong,” Scott said before the two took off, running back into the gymnasium to see you trying to pull the matt out under Erica who was halfway up the rock climbing wall again. “Oh shit!”

“Don’t help me! Go stand under her in case she falls,” You breathed as you continued to pull. Stiles quickly took the place beside you and began helping. “Thanks. I got this bad feeling in my stomach that led me back in here. I saw her on the wall and I think she’s about to have a seizure.”

“Put her on her side! On her side!” Allison shouted as she approached her boyfriend. You and Stiles let go of the mat and ran up to the girl Scott placed on the ground. “How’d you know?”

“I don’t know. I felt this pull. Like I needed to check on..” He whispered before the pack’s eyes landed on you. “You.”

Your lips parted, remembering something from an article you read recently. If a Delvoux connects with a supernatural being on a spiritual level, there’s an unbreakable bond between them. A twin flame. With time and trust, your blood no longer affects them, leaving you fully vulnerable to their attacks. In times of need, they feel drawn towards you. It takes a pure bond on both ends; something you shared with Scott since birth.

“The article,” Stiles whispered, pulling you aside. “It was true.”

“I hope not,” You scrunched your face.

“Why? Isn’t it a good thing?” Stiles furrowed his brows.

“Not if I go crazy,” You hesitated. “He’ll feel every emotion. All the chaos and the destruction, he’ll feel it on a spiritual level. It won’t look pretty for either of us.”

“It’s not going to happen,” He reassured, holding your shoulders. You sighed and looked back at Scott who held Erica’s head, trying to minimize any impact from her subconscious jerking.

“I fucking hope not,” You breathed.

———

“Ew, does being your twin flame mean we’re like gonna fall in love or something?” Scott cringed.

“Okay, first of all, ouch!” You laughed, throwing a green bean at his head. He, of course, caught it with a smile. “I don’t think you could sound any more grossed out at the thought of me if you tried! And second of all, ew! No, it just means we’re like platonically bonded. Think of it as siblings but with our souls instead of our blood.”

“So you can say ew but I can’t?” He took a bite from his apple. “And you call my ego fragile.”

“I’m saying ew because of the fact that we’re basically siblings. I didn’t call you gross!” You giggled, grabbing his apple out of his hands and taking a bite.

“Hey!” He reached for it as you pulled it away again. “Eat your own apple!”

“I ate mine already!” You shrugged before Stiles walked up and slammed a keychain on the table, making you jump.

“Got ‘em!” He smiled. “I’ll pick you guys up right after work tonight and we’ll meet at the rink, cool?”

“I’m not working tonight actually. I was planning on going to Allison’s after school to get ready together,” You said, looking up to see their eyes had drifted towards the doorway. You sighed and turned only to be greeted by a pair of long, tan legs. Your jaw dropped at the sight of Erica walking in, repping a new look. “Holy shit..”

She proceeded to walk up to a boy and take a bite from his apple, seductively wiping her bottom lip afterward. She looked good. Her hair fell into loose ringlets, her walk was powered with confidence, and her smile made everyone in the cafeteria stop what they were doing. It was like everyone was entranced by her beauty.

“What the holy hell is that?” Lydia slammed her hands on your table.

“It’s Erica,” Scott responded.

“She’s hot?” You mumbled, more as a statement, before feeling two dainty fingers slip under your jaw and push it closed. You looked up at Lydia who smirked down at you. Stiles’ eyes widened at the way she touched you, pinching himself to make sure this wasn’t a dream.

“I’m still hotter,” Lydia leaned down, only inches from your face.

“I was just thinking the same,” You smiled, grabbing her face and pretending like you were gonna kiss her. You both giggled and pulled away.

“I-Is this how girls joke around?” Stiles squeaked before Scott got up and walked after Erica. “Can I come with you to Allison’s after school? And every other day for that matter?”

“Come on,” You laughed, taking his hand and running behind Scott. He followed behind you but not without a smart remark.

“Wait, I wanted to see what the two of you were going to do!” He whined as you pulled him behind you.

“Keep dreaming,” You looked back before running into Scott, bumping back into Stiles. You looked past him to see Erica getting into Derek’s black Camaro and driving off with him.

“Well that’s not good,” Stiles muttered.

———

“What about this?” You asked, twirling to show your outfit off to your friends.

“Try the red dress!” Lydia smiled. “That one looks really good on you!”

“Okay,” You giggled. “Unzip me.”

She gladly abided before pausing to look at the door. You glanced over to see Mr. Argent knocking as he entered the room. He pulled Allison away for a few moments as you continued to play dress-up with Lydia. She added a few accessories on you and worked on your makeup as Allison entered the room again.

“So you have a date?” She grinned, looking at Lydia.

“Well, I did,” She grumbled. “He just texted saying he can’t tonight. Can I just tag along with you guys?”

“Uh,” You raised your brows and looked at Allison. “I mean-“

“If you don’t mind hanging out with a group of couples, then sure!” She laughed, almost positive Lydia would back down at her comment.

“Beats being alone,” Lydia shrugged. “This is gonna be so fun!”

“Yeah,” Allison looked over at you with wide eyes. “Sofun..”

———

“Lydia,” Stiles forced a smile as she walked past him. You walked up to him and pressed a kiss on his cheek. “You invited Lydia?!”

“Lydia invited Lydia,” You corrected, watching her walk into the rink. He groaned. “Don’t worry! My full attention is yours tonight.”

“I don’t think you even believe that,” He grumbled. You smiled and gently took his cheek into your hand. “Fine. But you owe me.”

“I texted my dad and asked him to make your favorite tonight,” You tilted your head sweetly. “He can’t join us for dinner though. He‘s going out with a few college buddies tonight.”

“Damn it, I was actually looking forward to seeing him,” He sighed. “But I’ll settle for lasagna.”

“Stiles.”

“Hm?”

“He’s leaving the apartment to ourselves for a few hours.”

His eyes shot wide open with excitement.

“Okay, you’re forgiven! For everything you’ve ever done ever and everything in the future,” He spoke quickly, making you throw your head back in laughter before you waltzed into the arena. He stayed behind to watch the way your hips swayed as you walked up and got a pair of ice skates before proceeding to do the same.

“You know,” Lydia started you took the seat next to her. “I know I’ve given you a lot of shit in the past for dating Stiles. But he’s actually really cute.”

You looked up at her only to see her eyes on your boyfriend as he chose a pair of black skates. As much as you hated to admit it, you felt a spark of jealousy ignite, a feeling you hadn’t gotten in a long time. Not because of her words, but the way she said them. It was a challenge.

“Thanks,” You smiled, lacing up your skates. “I think so too.”

“Likereally cute!” She giggled.

You knew bringing her was a bad idea. She wasn’t going to let your little comment from earlier slide as easily as you thought she would. You hated her psychological warfare but had no choice but to participate.

“What’re you guys talking about?” Stiles smiled as he took the seat next to yours.

“Nothing,” You smiled.

“You, silly,” Lydia corrected. “Well, you and Y/N, that is. God, it’s so cold in here! Do you have a jacket I could borrow?”

“Uh, yeah, I think I have something in my bag,” Stiles responded, completely oblivious to her attempt at flirting. You clenched your teeth, holding back any sort of smart remark. “Here.”

“Oh, she hates orange,” You commented. “She thinks it clashes with blue. What were the words you used, Lyd? The worst color combination ever?”

“But it’s the colors of the Mets,” Stiles pouted.

“I don’t remember saying that! I love the Mets!” She smiled, taking the jacket. You rolled your eyes and looked over at your boyfriend.

“Oh, before I forget- Look at what I brought you!” He grinned, reaching in his bag to grab a Reece’s peanut butter cup.

“I love Reece’s! Thank you!” You perked up, reaching for the orange package.

“I should’ve eaten before I came,” Lydia sighed. “My stomach is growling like crazy.

You looked over in annoyance, only to receive yet another smile.

“Oh, give it to Lydia. I don’t mind,” Stiles mindlessly spoke as he laced up his skates. You pressed your tongue against the inside of your lip before holding it out to her.

“Thanks, Stiles!” She smirked, taking the package from your hands and opening it.

You looked over at your boyfriend and watched as his hands fumbled with the laces, getting an idea. You leaned over and kissed the spot behind his ear that drove him crazy, making him look up at you with an amused smile.

“What are you doing?” He whispered. You shrugged before rubbing your hand on the base of his neck, using your thumb to stroke softly as his jaw.

“Nothing,” You responded innocently. “You’re just really attractive.”

“Oh?” He smiled as you leaned in. You placed your lips on his own, almost instantly deepening the kiss. He wrapped his hand in your hair, almost forgetting where he was for a moment. You pulled away with a grin before turning to face Lydia again.

“You two are so cute,” She forced a smile.

“Aren’t we just?” You scrunched your nose and smiled back. She bitterly hummed in response before walking onto the ice.

“What was that about?” Stiles chuckled.

“I’ll tell you later,” You shook your head before standing up. “Ready to skate?”

You spent the first few minutes holding on to each other, giggling every time one of you almost fell.

“Hey, I think I’m starting to get the hang of it!” Stiles called as he let go of your hand to skate ahead a little bit. “This isn’t so- Oh my god. Oh my god! I’m falling! Y/N! I need you! HELP!”

You laughed and reached out for him as he stumbled around, trying to stabilize him through your laughs. He finally stood still before his feet went out from under him. He yelped and subconsciously grabbed your waist as he fell, taking you down with him. You both lost it, wheezing as you laid on top of him.

“Ouch,” He chuckled. “You’re so mean!”

“Me? I tried helping!” You barely could get the words out. “You’re the one who took me down with you!”

“Yeah, but like the fantastic boyfriend I am, I cushioned your fall!” He argued, smiling as he pushed a few stray hairs behind your ear.

“That was so not on purpose!”

“Uh, it so was!” He shook his head, pretending to be baffled by your comment. “But don’t thank me. Thank my tailbone. He really took most of the blunt force.”

“Aww, are you okay?” You said, getting up and holding out your hand. He gladly took it.

“Yeah, I’m good. I’d be a lot better if you kissed me though,” He grinned before puckering up and tapping his lips with his pointer finger.

“Ah, okay, well just as long as it makes you feel better,” You smiled as he pulled you towards him and placed a sweet kiss on your lips.

“Y/N! Stiles! Watch this!” Lydia called before she performed a whole ass figure skating routine. You both looked over as she twirled away on the ice. You rolled your eyes for what seemed like the millionth time. “Y/N, can you do that?”

“Y/N,” Stiles warned. “Don’t do it. It’s not worth wasting your magic on-.. and she’s gone. I’m talking to myself now. Great.”

You channeled the familiar part of your brain that you used for school, using it to guide you elegantly on the ice. You began skating and twirling and jumping around, performing a perfect routine. Lydia watched, jaw agape, with utter shock. You skated towards her with a smirk.

“Canyou do that?” You asked innocently, making her give you a look of annoyance. Stiles reached out for you as you skated by, stopping you. “Sorry. I know, I know. That was reckless.”

“I think you mean awesome!” He shouted with glee. “Oh my god! That was seriously like something out of the winter Olympics! I wonder what else you can do!”

“Thanks! But I’m not trying to find out,” You grinned. “Wanna go take some pictures in the photo booth?”

“Uh, ch’yeah!” He laughed before you both skated off. Scott and Allison crawled out of the booth and smiled at you two. “Hey! Come take pictures with us!”

“Stiles, it’s only meant for two people,” Allison giggled.

“That’s what we’re for!” Scott offered, taking a seat and patting his lap.

Allison looked up at the two of you and shrugged before happily plopping down. Stiles sat down next to them and held out his arm for you. You laughed at how ridiculously small the space was but took a seat on his lap regardless.

You all posed, smiling for the first picture and growling like a wolf for the second. The third one was a shot of the four of you laughing at the previous pose and the fourth was one of each person kissing their significant other, still evidently laughing. Two photo prints came out, one of which you took for yourself.

“Scott, your eyes!” You laughed at the way they flashed back with the flash. He looked at the one in Allison’s hands before tearing off the top half and handing her the normal side.

“Keep this one,” He smiled. “I like this half better anyway.”

The moment was suddenly interrupted by screaming. You all looked at one another and stumbled out of the photo booth to run back to Lydia. You all saw her gripping the ice and sobbing, skating up to her to calm her down. It took a few minutes to snap her out of it, but when she finally came back to reality, she spent the rest of the night looking as if she saw a ghost.

Allison drove her home shortly after. The rest of you shuffled into Stiles’ Jeep and drove back to Scott’s to drop him off before driving back to your father’s new place.

You sighed as you entered the vast and empty space that was your new home. A note was laid neatly on the counter that read: Lasagna’s in the fridge. Pop a slice or two or five in the microwave. Love you!

“Hey, so you wanna tell me what was up tonight?” Stiles spoke up from behind you. “What happened to not wanting to use your powers? I thought you needed to reserve them.”

“I do,” You sighed. “Lydia was taunting me all night because of the small remark I made about her in gym class. She knows exactly how to piss me off enough to make me want to show her she isn’t superior or better than me.”

“Damn,” He raised his brows. “What’d she do?”

“She was messing with my head,” You opened the fridge and popped a plate in the microwave before turning back to him. “Okay, I know how stupid this is going to sound. But she was flirting with you and it was driving me crazy.

He laughed. “Lydia. Flirting with me? When?!”

“All night!”

“Look, I don’t want to sound like I don’t believe what you’re saying is true but I really don’t think she was,” He smiled.

“Oh, please! Stiles, can I borrow your jacket? I’m so hungry! Y/N, your boyfriend is soooo cute! I love the Mets! She doesn’t even like baseball!” You huffed, crossing your arms. “And she took my fucking Reece’s cup!”

“Not the Reece’s cup!” He gasped before laughing. You lowered your jaw and gave him an unamused look. “Aww, don’t get mad! I’m sorry! I believe you. I guess it just went right over my head. I was so focused on you that everything she said was like background noise. All I kept thinking about was how hot you look in that dress.”

“Whatever,” You giggled.

“No, I’m serious!” He responded. “She can flirt all she wants but it won’t get her anywhere. I mean I genuinely didn’t even realize she was doing it because I am so, utterly captivated by you. It’s actually really annoying, thinking about you all the time. Yeah, it’s like a million times as bad when around you too. Hence the flirting going right over my head. She really doesn’t stand a chance.”

“You’re so cute,” You smiled, walking over to wrap your arms around his neck. “How do you know exactly what to say all the time? It actually baffles me just how perfect you are sometimes.”

His eyes danced between your eyes paired with a smile that teased the corner of his lips. He shrugged as a response.

“You’re really cute when you’re jealous,” He said softly.

“Am I?” You let out a breathy chuckle. “Well, I definitely don’t feel cute when I’m jealous.”

“Your competitiveness really comes out. God, and that kiss was so hot. Please, for my sake, be jealous more often,” He begged.

The microwave went off, but with the way he was looking at you, your mind barely registered it. His hazel eyes were focused completely on your own before they made their way down to your lips. You simply smiled and leaned in.

The kiss that started so soft and sweet slowly deepened, as if you were mutually agreeing to take it further. The second you slid your tongue on his lower lip, asking for entrance, he walked you into the wall behind you and the night began.

You felt his hands slowly trace your figure from your hips, up to your shoulders, and down to your wrists, taking a hold of them and pinning them on top of your head. He took his time kissing your neck before he let you go and entangled his hands in your hair, tugging slightly with desire.

Your now free hands mindfully and seductively traced up and down his chest before pulling him in closer by his belt loops. He groaned into the kiss, sending vibrations through your skull and a shiver down your spine.

“Let’s go to my room,” You said in between kisses.

It was your turn to grab onto his own wrist, guiding him towards the first room on the left. As soon as you closed the door behind you, his lips were on yours again.

“Are you sure?” He pulled away breathlessly, making you smile. “We don’t have to if you aren’t absolutely-”

“Stiles.”

“Yeah?”

“Take off your shirt.”

“Yes ma’am,” He grinned, abiding your word before guiding you towards the bed, laying you down gently. He raised your dress up and left wet kissing on your stomach before you reached behind you to unzip it. “Wanna step out of that dress for me?”

“Mhm,” You hummed against his lips before you flipped positions, leaving you straddling his hips as you pulled off the red dress. You were left in nothing but the lacy black panties you’d bought for tonight.

“Woah,” He muttered, taking a moment to soak in your breathtaking figure. “Just.. wow. You’re stunning.”

You felt your everlasting smile widen before leaning down to kiss him once again. The pace slowed down; you both wanted to take your time and do this right, making sure to continue with enthusiastic consent.

Right as you began rubbing your hand up and down over his pants, you heard the front door open and close. You both paused before pulling away and looking at each other with wide eyes.

“Did you hear that?” You whispered.

“No,” He said a little too quickly. “I heard absolutely nothing.”

“Y/N? Honey, are you home?” You heard your father call out, making your boyfriend groan in frustration.

“Yeah, I’m changing into my PJs. I’ll be right out!” You called before lowering your voice. “Hide in my bathroom.”

He looked around, seeing it was the only place to hide, and nodded. He quickly collected his shirt and checked to make sure his shoes were still on; a rookie mistake he made in the past. You turned on the light as he rushed to your bathroom. You reached past in your bag to grab an oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts to throw on before quickly checking and fixing your appearance in the mirror.

“Hey, Dad!” You greeted with a smile as you walked bag into the living room. “How was your night?”

“I’m very drunk,” He slurred before giggling. “Man, oh man, those boys know how to make the best apple martinis. It tasted like juice so I downed them like water. Did you know we used to water down your apple juice when you were little so you wouldn’t get hyper?”

“You got drunk off of apple martinis?” You chuckled, taking the lasagna out of the microwave.

“Who knew they were so delicious? Here I was drinking beer, never knowing the delight that was mapple tinis,” He paused before thinking. “Mapple.. Apple martinis.. I meant apple martinis!”

“Yeah, I got that,” You smiled as he clumsily took off his shoes. “Did you have fun?”

“So much fun!” He grinned before stumbling over to the counter. “Can I have that lasagna?”

“Go for it. I’m not that hungry anyway,” You giggled, pushing the plate towards him as he took a seat at the island. “I was actually about to hit the hay.”

Boo!” He grumbled. “That’s boring!”

“It’s a school night! And from the looks of it, you should probably go to sleep too,” You reached in the fridge to grab him a bottle of water. “Drink this before bed. I don’t wanna nurse your hangover tomorrow.”

“I’ve got the liver of a 21-year-old athlete, foo,” He hiccuped before taking a bite. “Damn this is the best lasagna I’ve ever tasted in my life! Of course it is, I made it! Thanks, me.”

“Goodnight, Dad,” You laughed, walking over to kiss the top of his head.

“Goodnight, sweetheart. Sweet dreams,” He responded before drawing in a big breath. “GOODNIGHT STILES!”

You froze before hearing a small voice from your room.

“.. Goodnight, sir,” Your face fell into the palm of your hand.

“If you sleep with the door open, I won’t tell your mom that he’s over so late,” Your dad offered. “He can borrow my Star Wars PJ bottoms. They’re in the top drawer. Oh, and you can take the car to school tomorrow! I won’t need it.”

“Really?! Thank you!” You grinned.

“No problem, kiddo,” He said with a mouthful of lasagna. “I’m gonna watch movies and eat popcorn.”

“You do that!” You said as you walked into his room to grab the pajama bottoms before going back to your own bedroom and throwing them at Stiles who sat on your bed. “Rain check?”

“Raincheck,” He affirmed before shifting uncomfortably. “How does he always know I’m here?“

“Maybe it’s the Delvoux blood,” You shrugged before smirking. “Or the fact that you literally parked your car at the entrance of the building.”

“God damn it!” He huffed, recalling his obvious parking spot of choice. “The Jeep! Fuck, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” You giggled, placing a sweet kiss on his lips. “Now we know what not to do next time.”

“It sucks knowing what we could’ve gotten away with tonight if we’d thought it through beforehand,” He grumbled as he made his way to your bathroom.

———

“Y/N, we think Boyd is Derek’s next victim. Wanna go with Stiles to check to see if he’s home or with me to the rink?” Scott approached quickly as you shut your locker, Stiles right on his heels.

“I think you already know my answer,” You laughed.

“No, no, I need her to go with you,” Stiles argued.

“What? Why?” You both questioned.

“She needs to stop using her powers, dude. You can protect her better than I can,” He turned to Scott. “Plus, she brought her dad’s car so she can drive you there. It’ll be quicker.”

“But-“

“He’s right. I think it’s better this way. I’m almost positive he’s at the rink anyway so Stiles should be fine,” Scott grabbed your wrist and gently pulled you behind him. “Call if you need anything!”

“Will do!” Stiles shouted before running out to his Jeep. You and Scott made a beeline to your dad’s car, hopping in and speeding off.

“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” He mumbled. “Am I getting it from you?”

“Yeah, I think so,” You nodded, gripping the wheel.

“So why can’t you use your powers?” He asked as you made a sharp turn to the left.

“I don’t know if it’s true, but there are some articles that say the more you use it, the more likely it is to like.. make you go crazy in a sense,” You spoke up, looking over at his stunned face.

“So that’s the secret you’ve been hiding from us,” He mumbled. “Have you felt any different?”

“I honestly can’t tell. I mean, normally when Lydia tries to get under my skin, I can just laugh it off. Last night though.. It’s like I had this overwhelming urge to outdo her and I kind of channeled the magic or whatever to compete with her,” You sighed. “But I’m also just competitive. So who knows?”

“Maybe it’s triggered by anger the same way it is for me,” Scott pondered for a moment before speaking up. “You might be able to ask Allison if she knows something. Her family’s gotta have some sort of book. And it’s not like she’ll tell anyone or anything.”

“You mean my worrywart of a friend? I don’t know, Scott. She’s got a lot on her plate right now, I’d hate to worsen her anxiety,” You breathed.

“She’d hate to see you not ask for help. She’d rather see you reach out than go crazy,” He shrugged. “But it’s up to you.”

“Yeah, I’ll think about it. It’s not a bad idea,” You nodded as you pulled into the rink. “Now, come on. Let’s go get Boyd.”

Scott rushed into the building before you, scanning the vast space for any presence besides for the boy who sat on top of a Zamboni.

“Boyd!” Scott called as you walked in behind him. “I just wanna talk.”

He continued to drive the ice resurfacing machine, ignoring the two of you.

“Hey, come on, Boyd. Please,” You spoke.

“Did Derek tell you everything?” Scott asked. “And I don’t just mean going out of control on the full moon, I mean everything.”

“He told me about the hunters,” The boy broke his silence, grinding the machine to a stop.

“And that’s not enough for you to say no?“ You questioned, without judgment but with genuine concern. He fell silent once again.

“Whatever you want, there’s other ways to get it.”

“I just want to not eat lunch alone every day.”

“If you’re looking for friends, you can do a lot better than Derek,” Scott shook his head.

“That really hurt, Scott,” The familiar voice boomed behind the two of you. You turned to see Derek standing with his newly formed pack behind him. “I mean if you’re going to review me, at least take a consensus. Erica, how’s life been for you since we met?”

“Hmm. In a word, transformative,” She said before showing her teeth and growling. You rolled your eyes.

“Isaac?” Well, I’m a little bummed about being a fugitive, but other than that, I’m great,” He smiled at you, looking at you up and down.

“Okay, hold on. This isn’t exactly a fair fight,” You scoffed.

“Then go home, kid,” Derek smirked.

“She meant fair for them,” Scott slammed his fist into the ice below him before growling. You took your stance, hoping your magic wouldn’t fail you now. The two betas approached, Isaac going for Scott and Erica towards you.

“Didn’t he tell you, sweetheart?” You smiled. “You can’t hurt me.”

No, I just can’t make you bleed,” She scoffed before running and throwing you back. You landed on the ice with a thud, groaning a bit as you slid before standing up again. “Doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun.”

“You shouldn’t have done that,” You chuckled before feeling the power run through your veins in a way that it never has before. It made you feel unstoppable. You could see how this could be addicting; it was euphoric.

She launched at you again but you jumped up, managing to kick her on the side of her head and knocking her down. “Woah..” You smiled.

“Youbitch!” She growled, coming at you again. You waited for her to approach before manipulating her force against her to flip her into the ground below you. “That’s it!”

She whipped out her claws and stood up.

“Make me bleed. I dare you,” You taunted. She paused, realizing who she was up against. In the moment, she let her anger take over her judgment before she continued to march towards you with her claws fully retracted.

The power in your nerves surged excitedly through you. With it, came a feeling you’d never had before; you wanted to hurt her. You wanted to show her your power and frighten her to the point of pissing herself. You didn’t care at the moment if it killed her; you wanted retaliation to the extreme.

You saw a black flame-like aura appear on your hands as she continued towards you, you held them out as the black aura grew, bursting a black flame towards her chest. It sent her flying into the Zamboni headfirst, knocking her unconscious. You turned in time to dodge Isaac as Scott launched him back next to Erica.

“Don’t you get it?!” Scott shouted. “He’s not doing this for you! He’s just adding to his own power, okay? It’s all about him. He makes you feel like he’s giving you some type of gift when all he’s done is turn you into a bunch of guard dogs!”

“It’s true. It is about power,” Derek spoke. You looked at him breathlessly as you wiped your nose. Your eyes widened at the black blood that now decorated the back of your hand. “You look tired, Y/N. Let the big boys take care of this.”

He approached Scott, eyes now glowing red as he slowly transformed into his werewolf form. You saw as Derek head-butted him before slashing his claws through his stomach.

“Scott!” You yelled, feeling something drip out of your nose.

“Stay out of this, Y/N! You’re bleeding!” He shouted before receiving more blows to his chest and jaw, returning them back to Derek and sending him stumbling backward.

You wiped at your nose and saw black blood smeared on the back of your hand. Maybe the whole black aura thing wasn’t such a good idea. You couldn’t help but wonder if your body was warning you against the type of magic you’d summoned. You’re thought were interrupted by Derek’s growl.

The alpha smiled before beating Scott senseless, sending him into the ice. He stepped up to him, pressing his heel into his throat. You looked up a Boyd, taking the keys from his hands and clenching your eyes as you sliced through the palm of your hand.

“Goddamn,” Boyd cringed as you approached Derek from behind. You grabbed his face with your bloodied hand before he turned around with shock.

“Oh shit,” You muttered before he flipped you over his shoulder, sending you flying forcefully into the ice next to Scott and knocking the breath out of you. He quickly took a small, silky fabric out from his jacket and wiped the blood off of his face, seeming to be just fine before walking back to his pack.

“Don’t,” Scott breathed as Boyd approached the two of you. “You don’t wanna be like them.”

“You’re right,” He lifted his shirt to reveal a bite, making you sigh and drop your head back in disappointment. “I wanna be like you.”

The four werewolves gathered before making their exit. Scott rolled over to look at you.

“Are you okay?” He asked, wiping the blood from under your nose and looking back at you. He took your wrist in his hand, seeing that the blood from your hand was still red. You nodded and sat up. “You have to be more careful. But I’ll admit- that last stunt you pulled? That was a killer move.”

“Literally and figuratively,” You smiled, looking down at the cut. “I wonder why it didn’t work though.”

“If you ask me, it probably has to do with that rag he wiped his face with,” Scott looked back as the door swung closed behind the last of them. “We need to find Stiles.”

“We need to take you to the clinic,” You argued, looking at the nasty bash in his stomach making him wince and hiss in pain as you lifted his shirt to take a closer look.

“It’ll heal,” He shook his head.

“Wouldn’t the healing process have started by now? He slashed it at the beginning of the fight,” You furrowed your brows, seeing it bleed a significant amount compared to his more recent wounds. You got up, helping him up before you both made your way back to the car. “Try to keep the blood off of my Dad’s seats.”

The drive to the clinic was quick but it was enough time to call Stiles to check his location. You drove with your left hand as Scott pressed your old hoodie against the wound on your right palm, keeping it from bleeding more. You swung by an alleyway and watched Stiles crawl into the backseat of the car, reeking of garbage.

Jesus. What happened to you? You smell like shit,” Scott gagged.

“Erica happened! That bitch is ruthless,” He huffed, leaning forward to see his gaping cuts. He looked over at you to see your upper lip covered in dry blood and your hand covered by a blood-soaked cloth. “Oh my god! What happened in there?! Are you okay?”

“Derek happened. He happens to also be a ruthless bitch,” You smiled before driving towards the clinic. “Look, I know I need to stop but I had no choice but to use my powers this time. It was Derek’s pack versus us.”

“It’s okay! But you just have to be careful. We don’t know how to control it yet,” Stiles reassured.

“I get what the articles mean by magic controlling my bloodline,” You breathed, remembering the feeling it gave you. “It came so naturally. And it felt like a drug. It was like utter power and euphoria pumping through my veins. I think it could be addicting. I really need to stop using it.”

“Bro, you should’ve seen her though! Her hands were like covered in this black mist, dude. She beat the living hell out of Erica,” Scott looked back smiling. “She was like a jujitsu master before her hands started smoking. Then she just knocked Erica into the ice smoothing machine and knocked her out without even touching her!”

“Damn,” Stiles’ brows raised, he was impressed. “What happened to her hand?”

“Derek knocked Scott to the ground and held him by the throat with his foot,” You began to explain before Scott chimed in with excitement.

“Y/N sliced her hand open with Boyd’s keys, dude. Then she came up behind Derek and grabbed his face, smearing her blood all over him!” He all but shouted. “It was awesome!”

“Yeah, except for the part where it didn’t phase him and he flipped me over his shoulder,” You mumbled. “My back feels like it got snapped in half now that the adrenaline is going away.”

“Wait, it didn’t phase him?!” Stiles’ jaw dropped. “How?! That shit knocked Scott on his ass with just the fumes or whatever!”

“He wiped his face with this like silk cloth. Scott thinks it has to do with that. I feel like it was because I over-exerted my powers fighting. Who knows,” You shrugged, pulling into the vet clinic’s parking lot. You all got out and proceeded to walk in. “It’s not like we can test it. Scott’s basically immune to my blood now.”

“God, why isn’t this thing healing..” Scott winced as he walked beside you.

“Because it came from an alpha. And that’s not true, Y/N,” Deaton’s voice echoed as he saw the three of you walk in. You froze, how did he know? “The blood of a Delvoux can help cure those she’s bonded with. The women in your family were well known to join werewolf packs as an alliance. They protected your ancestors and your ancestors healed them in return. All it took was love and trust. Mixing the blood of a bonded werewolf with your own can heal you too. Physically and mentally.”

“You know?” You muttered, making him smile. “How?”

“I know everything about this town,” Deaton shrugged. “We have a lot to talk about. I wanna show you something. But before I do, unwrap your hand and rub it on Scott’s wounds. I have to warn you, it’ll burn.”

You nodded, hesitantly taking the hoodie off of your hand as Scott lifted his shirt. You looked up at him as if to ask for permission; he nodded. You placed your bloody hand on the beginning of the top gash. You removed your hand across every gash, feeling a warm sensation in your hand.

“Oh, that’s not too bad!” You smiled as you pulled away.

The second your hand left his final scratch, you felt it. Both you and Scott screamed in pain, feeling as if you were being branded. You held your wrist and fell to your knees, clenching your eyes in midst of the blistering pain. And just as quick as it appeared, it went away. “Fuck, remind me never to do that again.”

“Agreed,” Scott said, trying to catch his breath.

“How do you feel?” Deaton chuckled.

“Like I just placed my hand on a stove,” You looked down at your hand. All that was left from the wound was the dried blood where the hash previously laid.

Mentally. How do you feel?”

You took a moment to realize that your head suddenly felt light. The anxiety, the anger that boiled deep within you, the darkness that loomed in your mind- it was gone. Your eyes widened at the silence in your head. You didn’t realize just how bad it had gotten until it was gone. It snuck up on you, eating at your mind silently and subtly. The gravity of the situation finally sank in; you were well on your way to insanity before that moment.

“Holy shit,” You whispered. “It’s gone.”

“Come with me,” Deaton’s tone darkened before he led you to the back room. Before you laid a corpse, slashed through like he’d been through a human cheese grinder. “I think we better have that talk now.”

Request: can you do a Derek imagine where y/n gets hurt at school and gets taken to the nursing bay

Request: can you do a Derek imagine where y/n gets hurt at school and gets taken to the nursing bay and Derek hears and rushes into see if she’s alright and she’s with all her friends and they ask lots of awkward questions like if he’s her boyfriend (she secretly likes him). sorry it’s so detailed aha

Announcement: I am so, so, sorry that it took so long to get this out!  I had a little bit of writers block and school and work and life got in the way.  I hope that you like it!  I’m working on everyone else’s requests later today and hope to have something posted tomorrow.  Keep your requests coming you guys!

~*~*~*~*~*

Today had started off as a crappy day, so when you got tripped in the hallway and basically bashed your face into the floor you weren’t that surprised. The textbooks you had been carrying in your hands scattered across the hallway, along with loose pages of notes you had stacked together.  Scott and Stiles, being nearby and seeing you fall, jumped up to help you.  While you held your hand up to your nose, trying to stunt the bleeding the two of them raced around to collect every scrap of paper you had dropped.

“Come on, we should get you to the nurse.” Scott said, moving to squat down next to you.  Keeping your hand pressed up against your nose you nodded in agreement, slowly raising to your feet.

“Ouch!” You muttered when putting weight down on your right ankle.  The few people who hadn’t been watching your struggle turned to look, creating a small circle of onlookers as you shifted your weight onto your left ankle.

“What?” Stiles asked, scrambling to his feet and managing to successfully balance the majority of your dropped books and papers in his arms.

“I guess I twisted my ankle when I fell.” You replied, groaning in frustration.

“You’re just a walking mess today.” Scott teased you, wrapping your arm over his shoulders and taking hold of your waist to help you walk.  With his help and Stiles trailing behind you, you hobbled your way down the hallway and into the nurse’s office.  Scott set you down on the bed in the corner of the room and Stiles dropped your books and papers onto a chair nearby, shuffling them around until they were in a neat pile.

“What happened here?”  The nurse asked you, wheeling over in her rolling chair.  She snatched a box of tissues up off of a nearby end table and handed it out to you.  You snatched up the tissues and pressed them to your nose, tilting your head forward slightly in an attempt to stop your bleeding nose.

“She fell in the hallway.”  Scott replied, fiddling with the strap on his backpack.

“I think I sprained my ankle or something, too.”  You piped up, lifting your leg up in the air.  The nurse wheeled her chair closer to you and gently took hold of the heel of your foot to inspect it.

“Well thank you boys for bringing her in.  You should both head off to class now.”  The nurse said almost like it was an afterthought.  You smiled gratefully at Scott and Stiles as they both waved and ducked out of the nurse’s room.

~*~*~*~*~*

After the class period ended your group of girl friends came crowding into the nurses office.  They heard about you tripping in the hallway and wanted to make sure that you okay.  However, they weren’t the only ones who heard about your little trip.  The one and only Derek Hale was quick to show up and check on you as well.  A few minutes after your group of friends had successfully encircled you to ask if you were okay that there was a knock on the doorframe.

“Stiles told me you were at the nurses office.  I just came to make sure if you okay.”  Derek’s gruff voice broke through the high pitched chatter of your friends.  The room fell into an awkward silence as your friends took stalk of Derek.

“Thanks, Derek.”  You smiled at him, holding up your leg to show him how it was wrapped up in an ace bandage.  “It’s just a twisted ankle, I’m supposed to be heading back to class in a few minutes.”  You rolled your eyes, laughing lightly.  Derek apprised the bandage before nodding his head curtly.

“Good, I’m glad you’re okay.”  He replied, noticing how your friends were still gawking at him.  “I guess I’ll let you head to class.  If you need a ride home though I can come back and pick you up.”  He offered.  He gave you the closest thing to a smile before disappearing from the doorway once more.  He wasn’t gone for more than ten seconds when your friends all turned to you, instantly asking questions.

“Who was that?”

“Was that Derek Hale?”

“How do you know him?”

“It’s kind of weird that he came running down here to see you…”

“Are you two dating?”

With an eye roll you held your hand up to silence them all so you could get the chance to say something.  “He’s a friend of mine.  I met him through Scott and Stiles.  No, we aren’t dating.”  You answered.

“But you want to be.  I can tell.”  One of your friends piped up, wiggling her eyebrows at you.  You and the whole group of friends around you started laughing and giggling.

“You should wait a little while and then call him.  Tell him to come pick you up and drive you home.”  Another one of your friend replied.  The rest of your friends started to chime in, agreeing with that idea immediately.

“If I call him will you all leave me alone?”  You said, pretending to be irritated.  Your friends nodded excitedly, each one grinning widely as you pulled out your phone and pulled up Derek’s number.  You hit the ‘call’ button and held the phone up to your ear, shushing your friends as they started to giggle.

“Wasn’t expecting a call this soon.”  He answered.  You rolled your eyes and laughed lightly.

“I decided that participating in school today didn’t sound like such a good idea.  Do you mind coming back and picking me up?”  You asked, shifting uncomfortably in your seat as your friends congratulated each other with laughs.

“Lucky for you, I haven’t even left the parking lot yet.  I’ll pull up to the front door and wait for you.”  He replied.

“Thanks.”  You hung up, standing up from your seat and put a little bit of weight on your foot to test it.  “Are you guys happy now?  He’s waiting outside for me.”  You laughed lightly, collecting your backpack and books in your ar

“Don’t keep him waiting, go!”  Your friends ushered, waving you out the door of the nursing station with laughs.  You rolled your eyes and made your way down the hall and to the front door as quickly as you could.  When you finally stepped out into the daylight Derek’s Camaro was pulled up at the sidewalk, and he had the windows rolled down.

“Thanks for doing this.”  You said, stuffing your backpack through the open windows into the back seat.  You climbed into the passenger seat and sighed heavily, closing the door behind you.

“It’s not like I had anything else to do.  Now, what really changed you mind?”  He asked with a raised eyebrow.

“My friends.”  You answered truthfully as he pulled away from the curb and started driving you home.

“Gave into the peer pressure, huh?”  He chuckled.

“They just wanted me to hang out with you because they think that you’re hot.”  You replied with a shrug and a laugh.  This time he looked over at you, raising an eyebrow.

“And what do you think?”  He asked after a few moments of silence.  You chewed on the inside of your cheek, your heart suddenly beating faster.  Derek slowed the car to a stop at a red light, turning to face you while he waited for your answer.

“I think you’re hot too.”  You replied quietly, fiddling with your thumbs in your lap.  Finally you found the courage to look back up at Derek.  A wide grin had spread across his face.  “What?”  You asked, frowning slightly.  Without replying he leaned across the seats and pressed a kiss to your lips.  After getting over the initial shock, you eagerly kissed him back.  The two of you didn’t break apart until the traffic behind you started beeping because the light had turned green.

“Let’s get you home.”  He chuckled, pulling back and starting to drive once more.  You smiled, leaning against the center console of the car and taking hold of his hand.

“You’re sure you wanna do this?” Stiles looked at him. He was hesitating to let him go.

“There’s no way out for them”, Derek said, calmly. “I have to make one.”

“But it’s dangerous. And you might not get out if he controlls them already.”

“I can save them. It’s all that matters.”

Stiles sighed, rushing his fingers through his hair. “For you.”

Derek gave him a look. “They’re your friends. You want to save them. And you know I’m their only hope.”

“No you’re not. Take me with you, I can help, I can-”

ENOUGH!” Derek’s voice was loud, as he loses his temper. “I know what I’m risking. My life for theirs. I don’t want to get you involved, so don’t you dare to follow me there.”

Stiles gave up on the conversation as the big wolf turned his back on him. But the plan was still on.

Derek: Can I rip his head off?

Stiles: no.

Derek: Tear him apart?

Stiles: definitely not.

Previously on Baddest Bitch…

“But yes I would love to go on a date though I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty smitten with you don’t you think? I don’t exactly let anyone knock me up.” You chuckled before reaching over your shoulder and placing a kiss on his cheek.

“Yes well ditto.” Derek grumbled shyly before you both finally let sleep take you.

You slipped out of bed with a smile as you looked over at Derek who was still passed out after your brunch sexy time. You thought you would’ve been doubting yourself for allowing Derek to knot you, let alone even screw you without a condom, it was reckless and so irresponsible but instead you felt content like everything made sense.

You weren’t sure whether it was Derek or the fact that you might’ve made a child but you felt lighter than you had in years. However, you were still sticky so a shower was definitely on the cards. You began walking through the open space but you suddenly overheard the pack enter downstairs and you realised it was 7pm on Friday which meant pack night.

Shit.

You ran back to Dereks bed and slapped him against the bare chest shocking him so much he actually growled at you until he realised it was you. You pulled on your earlobe telling him to listen and his eyes widened immediately, shooting out of bed as he began routing through his draws to grabs jeans and a henley before slipping into them.

You shook your head at his lack of underwear as you ran over to your separate room taking Derek’s sheet with you as you went. You grabbed a paired of black high waist leggings, a red crop top and a pair of thongs. You grabbed your feminine wipes and started wiping any dried cum off of you so it wouldn’t be as noticeable to the other wolves.

You put on the clothes and took a deep breathe, readying yourself incase there was questions. You were usually so confident but for some reason you were worried what the pack would think. God how were you going tell the pack if you did get pregnant? You shook your head and started down the stairs, knowing Derek had gone down already.

You spot the whole pack rumbling through take away containers and realised they must’ve picked food up on the way so you put on a big smile and grabbed a plate. Liam noticed you first and gave you a big smile in return, suddenly he started sniffing the air and you tried not to look guilty because there’s no way a puppy wouldn’t be able to figure out where the smell was coming from with the whole pack in the house, right?

“Why do you smell like sex?” Liam asked stopping the whole pack in their spots as every wolf sniffed of air their eyes widening, while Derek suddenly looked a little too proud and Scott started laughing.

“I told her and Derek to fuck it out… ‘guess they took my advice.” Scott smirked like he’d won a medal.

You shot him a glare before serving yourself food and walking to the dining table without a word. Lydia sat next to you with Stiles following, who sat on the other side and you almost ran then and there. The brainy couple…you were doomed and you knew it.

“So… Derek?” Lydia started and Stiles hummed in thought, thinking about the question he wanted to ask but there were so many he had on his mind he decided to leave the questioning to his girlfriend.

“Interesting development, if you ask me.” Stiles added casually instead, causing you to look at Derek for help but he just looked amused.

“Oh you think this is funny, sweetheart?” You asked Derek, your tone sickly sweet, wiping the smirk from his face.

“You know what I think, Derek here would be to happy answer all your questions. Right, Der?” You asked, feigned innocence dripping from your words.

“I’m taking her out tomorrow that’s all you guy need to know.” Derek grumbled before everyone exploded as you shot him a smirk that let him know you’d won.

The pack continued their questioning throughout dinner - even the sheriff had asked one, which had made you laugh because he had asked ‘where will Derek be taking you?’ and Derek went redder than tomato as he clearly hadn’t thought of that yet. You saved him from the unexpected question by saying you wouldn’t mind trying the new Italian place downtown and he sent you an affectionate smile that somehow made everyone stop questioning the pair of you.

You poured yourself and Melissa a glass of red wine before you made your way to the living room. You were about to sit down with you glass when it was taken straight out your hand by Derek who shot you a raised brow and you scoffed at him making Melissa laugh.

“You’re brave going between her and wine.” Chris snorted as Melissa nodded against his shoulder trying to contain her laugh.

Derek raised both brow daring you to argue with him but you just stared him down like the enemy. You looked at the glass weighing your chances at getting your hands on it and not spilling at least half, but you just sighed angrily.

“Get me a juice.” You snapped viciously and Derek nodded before walking back to the kitchen.

“What the fuck just happened…” Stiles muttered in confusion.

“Language, but yeah what my idiot son said.” The sheriff scolded but looked at you confused, with a raised brow.

“I think it’s best we come some aspects of our relationship a secret.” You answered respectfully making the sheriff nod in acceptance, but Stiles just gaped at you, his mind racing a mile a minute.

“Is it a kinky thing?” Stiles gasped, as if the revelation of Derek doing anything kinky was the most hilarious concept to him and you almost keeled over laughing.

“No, but that made my day.” You wheezed as you tried to calm your breathing through the laughter.

“Excuse you.” Derek growled as he came into the room with your juice.

“Shut up, wine stealer.” You snarled as you took your juice resentfully.

Derek rolled his eyes but sat down next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders before pressing a gentle kiss to your temple making you instantly relaxed against him. Despite the pout on your face, you cuddled into him causing Lydia to chuckle at the sight from across the room.

******

You eventually drifted into your own thoughts as everyone chatted the night away. You must’ve fallen asleep at some point because the next thing knew you woke up to Derek carrying you upstairs. You stared up at him with a sleepy smile on your face and he looked down at you returning it with the brightest smile you’d seen all night.

He laid you on his bed and you raised a brow at him but didn’t move to get up as he stripped his top and jean leaving him naked but as he started to slide on a pair of boxers you let your pout show. He looked up innocently, like he didn’t know the effect he had on you, only to see your pout making him smirk.

“You can’t still want more, baby?” He chuckled as he remembered the second and third time you went after the first time.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of you.” You purred as you ripped your top off over your head letting him take in your lack of bra. You crooked your index finger in a come hither way and he was on you, his fingers finding the waistband of your leggings before pulling them down off your body leaving you in your dusky pink thong.

“You’re so beautiful.” Derek whispered against your lips and your eyes widened in shock. You had only ever really done one-night stands so you were never used to being called beautiful. Drunken men weren’t exactly there for the intimacy they were here for one thing only, your body.

“Did I say something wrong?” Derek asked softly and you looked up at him with a frown wondering why he was asking, but then you realised he must’ve sensed your change in mood.

“No. Not at all…no one’s ever called me beautiful in the bedroom just shocked me, Der, that’s all.” You answered softly and his frown was back as he pressed a kiss to your forehead before kissing down your temple to your cheek lovingly.

“Well you are…so beautiful.” Derek whispered into your ear sending a shiver straight down your spine as you clutched the bedding.

His lips left little kisses over every inch of skin from your cheek to your nipples, taking the left one in his mouth, sucking softly making you gently bite your lower lip as you watched him switch to your other nipple to pay it the same attention.

“Don’t get comfortable, baby. I’m about to show you how beautiful you are.” Derek whispered darkly; his voice full of filthy promises.

He wrapped your legs around his waist before picking you up using your ass to support you. He walked to the bathroom across the loft and you gave him a sceptic look but he just shot you a dirty smirk that made your heart race in anticipation.

He stopped in front of the bathroom mirror, signalling for you to get down so you jumped down and looked around the room with a shrug. He spun you around, pulling your bare back against his just as bare chest, one hand on you hip as the other grabbed your cheeks forcing you took look at him through the mirror.

“Watch close.” Derek whispered in your ear his wolf eyes flashing in dimly lit bathroom. You flushed under his gaze feeling a little embarrassed but you nodded gently letting him know you heard him.

Every nerve in your body felt like it was buzzing in anticipation, waiting for his next move but when his hand slowly slid from you cheeks to your throat your eyes flashed as you leaned into his touch. The hand on your hip suddenly tore your underwear straight off your body making you gasp in shock as Derek just gave you a sadistic smirk in return.

His hand slid between your legs, his finger immediately delving into your wet folds making you whimper against him, shamelessly grinding into his fingers. You felt Derek’s chest rumble in satisfaction against your back as teased you massaging your clit at an agonisingly slow pace.

“Look.” Derek growled as his eyes flashed in warning and you finally looked at yourself in the mirror.

Your face was flushed, glowing under the low lighting, your hair was half sticking to your face but the thing you noticed the most, was your expression. You looked so…beautiful…in pure trust and ecstasy in this moment with this man and you smiled at him.

“I only look like this because its you…because I trust you…even enough to take control of me in my most vulnerable position.” You whispered into the quiet room and his expression changed to something you’d never seen on him but you decided it was your favourite look.

“Make love to me.” You knew it wasn’t a question and that didn’t seem to bother Derek because he picked you up like a princess and took you back to his bed.

He laid you down on the bed carefully, pushing his lips onto yours passionately, as he brushed your hair out of your face affectionately while he took himself out of his boxer briefs. You slipped your tongue into his mouth, exploring every inch of him as you went; He tasted like the whiskey he drank earlier, making you smile into the kiss.

He brushed his tip through your wet folds, making you moan against his lips as you clutched onto his biceps in a plea that you needed him, and he clearly heard it because he slowly pushed into you, earning one drawn-out desperate moan as you clung to him like a koala bear. Everything felt more intense, and maybe it was because you were sure this was the first person to ever make love to you, or perhaps it was just Derek. Still, you looked into his eyes as he took one of your hands, intertwining it with his while he started thrusting into you slowly but deeply.

He looked at you with the same look from earlier and you cupped the back of his neck as he nudged against your special spot with every deep thrust and you felt yourself building faster than normal but he nodded letting you know he was close too. Your eyes were blurred with pure pleasure as his hand came down to massage your clit.

“Ahh…Der, m’close.” You moaned softly as you hid your head in his neck, and he pulled back to look into your eyes once more.

His thrusts got a little harder as he got closer to his end, his fingers never stopped moving gently and you couldn’t hold it anymore, the coil in your stomach unravelling as you looked into Derek’s blue wolf eyes through your hooded lids. Your legs wouldn’t stop shaking as Derek came with you, emptying himself inside of you once again.

“F-Fuck…” You whispered as you went lifeless against the bed, Derek resting on top of you but not putting his full weight on you, which you found endearing.

“Maybe I should get that diamond ring after all.” Derek chuckled and you let out a breathless laugh pulling him down for a kiss.

********

It had been about a month or so since you and Derek had started dating while making a baby… A weird concept, you were both aware, which is why no one from the pack is any the wiser. Obviously, you were well aware that you’d have to tell them soon, but for right now you guys didn’t want to deal with judgmental looks from your pack.

You were currently a week late but you couldn’t be sure if that was the stress of wanting to know or if it was, in fact, pregnancy so you bought tests… A lot of them. Derek looked at you like you were crazy when you dumped all 25 packets of different brands on his lap.

“I really don’t think this many is necessary.” Derek stated as you dipped one at a time into the cup of pee, specifically the morning pee you had been holding since you woke up at 7am this morning. The internet said it was better to take it with your first pee of the day something about HCG hormones or something… You didn’t understand most of it.

“And I really don’t think you should be judging me right now since I might be carrying your wolf spawn.” You sassed, making him roll his eyes but dutifully pass you another test to dip in the pee.

“Okay, now we wait!” You cheered happily as you lined the last one on rows and rows of toilet roll you had set out on the coffee table; you were aware it was gross but you planned on cleaning it afterwards, but you needed a large surface for the test, and the dining table didn’t seem like a good idea.

You sat there, your leg bouncing up and down as you watched the tests from the couch anxiously. Derek was pacing at the other side of the coffee table making you look at him with the deadliest glare, before you could tell him to sit down the loft door burst open and you stood up panicking.

You looked up to see Peter, who looked shocked by you and Derek staring at him like he was a trespasser. Your eyes widened as you pointed to Derek signalling for him to get rid of him, but Peter scrunched his face n distaste as he got closer.

“Why does it smell like someone marked there territory in here?” Peter gagged and your eyes widened.

“Don’t come any closer, Hale!” You screamed as you pointed at Derek’s uncle.

“Okay, did I walk in on some weird kinky thing?” Peter asked in distaste.

“Why does everyone think we’re always doing something kinky?!” You screeched, your arms flopping to your side in exasperation.

“Baby…” Derek tried by you immediately cut him off.

“Not now, Derek! I need to know why the pac-”

“Babe! Look!” He shouted, effectively shutting you up you looked at him with a glare before he pointed at the tests.

Every single one was positive. Holy shit, you were pregnant with Derek Hales baby. You looked at him with wide eyes when he stared at you as if trying to see how you felt about it. When your grin broke out, so did his, his arms immediately on your hips to lift you up happily, burying his head in your neck.

Suddenly you were very aware Peter was still stood there, as he hadn’t said anything you glanced over and found him staring directly at all the tests with wide eyes. You looked back at Derek in worry but he stayed silent like he was waiting for Peter to get his bearings.

“Congratulations, dear nephew… Talia would be proud.” Peter stated uncharacteristically gentle and you started sobbing shocking both men.

“Good luck with that. Bye.” Peter added with an arrogant smile on his face as he left Derek to deal with you.

“Peter’s not so bad! People should be nicer to him.” You sobbed making Derek snort humourlessly.

“Oh dear… Isn’t it a little early for the hormones to start?” Derek laughed and you just started sobbing more.

“Why am I crying?!” You cried into his chest, sniffling into his top, his scent instantly calming you.

“When do you want to tell the pack?” Derek asked softly as he kissed the top of your head.

“Tonight.” You sniffled as you pulled away to look at him. You could barely believe you were pregnant despite seeing the 25 tests with your own eyes. You were so happy, and Derek seemed even more excited, which made you proud that you could be the one to give him a family.

You were falling for Derek Hale, and for once, there wasn’t a reason to worry because you felt completely safe doing it.

********

When the pack all wandered in for the usual Friday pack night, you were in the kitchen making mocktails for the whole pack before making a few alcoholic ones for the adults that weren’t pregnant. The pack looked confused as they crowded around the dinner table with the take out bags.

You strolled over to the table as Derek and Peter carried the drink trays out behind you, looking unusually happy, and nobody dared speak like they were concerned for your mental stability. Malia glared at her father as if he was just as insane, while he helped you into your chair.

You made aimless chatter with Lydia, and the pack quickly relaxed so you started serving out the take away food that Scott had brought. You ate more than usual, making Stiles tease you, but you just stuck your tongue out at him causing him to scoff in disbelief.

After everyone had finished the food, the pack started to make their way to the couches and you gave Derek a nod as he stood in front of the pack with a small awkward smile. Everyone looked at him curiously but waited for him to speak, knowing it wasn’t Derek’s forte.

“We have some news, and I’d like everyone to remember mouth filters…” He stated as he directed his gaze to Stiles, who scoffed again, making everyone laugh.

“I’m pregnant.” You stated casually, and the pack just stared for what felt like forever, but then everyone went insane.

“Congratulations, Y/N. You’re gonna make a great mother.” Melissa stated, as she got up from her seat to hug you.

“You’re gonna be a great dad too, Derek. I’m so proud of how far you’ve come.” She added and she pulled Derek into a hug much to his shock.

“Thank you.” He mumbled, a blush taking over his ears and cheeks as he pulled away from Melissa.

“Congrats, man. Honestly, if anyone deserves this it’s you.” Stiles said as he approached Derek and the wolf’s eyes widened in surprise before softening and bringing Stiles into a firm hug, clearly shocking the younger boy, but he laughed and gave into the wolfs hug before pulling away and looking at you.

“You are the only girlfriend he’s had that I actually like.” Stiles whispered playfully and you let out a laugh before bringing him into a hug.

“You’re gonna be great parents.” He added seriously making your smile soften.

“Thank you.” You replied honestly as you pulled away.

“For everything… Like Derek, I have no family left and you guys have given me that. Through everything we’ve been through, that fact has only gotten stronger and for that I will be eternally grateful. I know a lot of you didn’t trust me when I first showed up, but after fighting together and surviving together for so long we’re stronger than any blood related family out there. So, thank you for being my family and I can’t wait to add to it.” You expressed slowly, Melissa and Lydia were crying into their significant others shoulder as you raised your glass in cheers

Everyone raised theirs in return with happy and satisfied smiles on their faces and for once everything felt complete, like finally having a baby on the way made this family more real and suddenly you couldn’t wait until the little one arrived.

**********

You sat next to Lydia, your hand in hers as Scott stared at the floor with a look of deep thought. Everyone else in the room was silent as they wrapped there head around everything you had just said. You knew it was a lot for someone to take in but they needed to know from you…not from Melissa once you couldn’t walk and she had to get you a carer.

“Why didn’t you tell us from the start…Y/N the things you’ve been doing and getting involved in…you could’ve died…” Scott looked up sadly and you let your eyes fall to the floor in shame.

“I found out last year…after the dread doctors…I thought it was because…Theo threw me into that pipe…but it wasn’t.” Stiles shot a furious glare at Theo who was staring at the floor with guilt.

“Stop it Stiles. If he hadn’t done that I wouldn’t of found out for years or until I couldn’t walk one day. I’m actually grateful for that injury but I don’t want to be on medication for the rest of my life…I want you to turn me while I’m strong enough to survive.” You asked with determination all over your face making sure he knew you had thought about it.

“I don-Are you sure?” Scott asked seriously but before you could say anything Derek let out a huff before speaking up.

“Why the hell are you hesitating? She’s ill Scott! With all due respect if she didn’t want it she wouldn’t of asked.” Derek snapped and your eyes shot up to his face in surprise. You and Derek only met shortly after the Anuk-ite attack due to joining Scott shortly after the dread doctors when they saved you from Theo and his band of merry chimera’s.

Derek was quiet but polite enough despite that Stiles calls him sourwolf, however you found him calming to be around. He didn’t speak to you much but he was always looking out for the pack since he’d been back even the members that were new. It helped that he wasn’t too bad to look at with his black stubble, piercing pale green eyes and god like body.

“Woah there sourwolf! Calm your shit. Scott is obviously going to do it if she wants the bite.” Stiles huffed sassily as he stood to get all up Derek’s face.

“Stiles sit your cute little ass down!” Lydia snorted as she grabbed Stiles’ top dragging him back down to his seat at the other side of her.

“Aww you think my ass is cute.” Stiles preened happily as she rolled her eyes affectionately at him.

“When would you like to do it?” Scott asked with a sad smile.

“It’s not like we need to arrange it Scott. You have fangs and I have my body wherever we are.” You snorted with a teary laugh earning a laugh from everyone including the parents of the pack which had been pretty quiet until now.

“Where would you feel most comfortable?” Scott asked with a little more humour this time.

“We can do it at the loft?” Derek suggested absently making you smile at him brightly.

“Why would she want to do it at your grubby loft Derek…seriously are you feeling okay today? She needs to be somewhere more sterile.” Stiles grumbled sarcastically and his dad let out a sigh before smacking Stiles round the back of his head.

“Hey that child abuse!” Stiles screeched and his dad raised his brows.

“You’re over 18…technically its just plain old abuse. Though I’m sure the Sheriff will let me off with a warning.” He informed him with a smirk as Stiles just gaped at him.

“I would actually like to do it at the loft it’s the most secluded place so if I lose control we’re far enough from people that one of your can stop me.” You commented reasonably.

“Good point. Since its winter break we have time to help you learn control before your back at Yale.” Scott replied causally and you suddenly went silent, frozen in place.

“I’m not going back to Yale I’m transferring to the same school as you Scott.” Suddenly Melissa’s voice was booming.

“Like hell you’re giving up Yale! Why would you want to transfer!? You got into a blue collar school on full scholarship honey…” Melissa looked like she was about to have a heart attack.

“Because I’m not happy there! I’m too far away…everyone at that school is either a genius or an asshole! I hate it I miss my pack…I was an orphan before this and now I have a whole family…I don’t want to be away from you guys.” You muttered sadly as you stared up at the closest person you had to a mother these days.

“Are you that miserable there?” She asked, guilt written all over her face.

“Yes…” You muttered slowly and she just nodded before walking over to you and dragging you up to wrap her arms around you.

“Okay honey.” Melissa whispered soothingly into your hair as you clung to her like a life line.

“I would like to do it tomorrow…my health isn’t too bad right now but that could change on any given day and I don’t wanna risk it.” You stated calmly as Melissa pulled away from you and everyone nodded quietly.

The rest of the night was perfect, you all had dinner while talking about classes and how relationships were going. Malia and Scott were still together, Lydia and Stiles were going strong, Mason and Corey are enjoying their first year at college together. Melissa was still seeing Chris surprisingly, Noah was still single but you’d told him about the new owner of the diner that found the Sheriff attractive earning a groan from Stiles and a laugh from everyone else.

********

You stared at the loft doors with serious determination, your heart racing a mile a minute as your fingers twitched against the cold hard metal handle. You nod to yourself as you yanked the door open to see Derek and Scott stood around the table in the lofts entrance.

You gave Scott a small smile before sending a nod to Derek in thanks for letting you use the loft. Scott gave you a sad smile in return like he was giving you some sort of death sentence but for you it was going to be a better life.

“Are you sure?” Scott asked on last time as you lifted your top so Scott could bite your abdomen.

“Yes I’m sure.” You huffed with a humoured smile as Derek let out a growl.

“Okay I got it Derek. Jeez you’re really demanding for a beta.” Scott snorted playfully before he bent down and bit your waist gently. You heard yourself let out a scream but after that everything went black.

*********

“-she’ll wake up soon just stop pacing.” You heard a voice say at the side of you but you couldn’t open your eyes.

“I know but it’s been 24 hours Scott this isn’t normal…They either get stronger or get weaker…I’ve never seen someon—her heart rate changed…Y/N?” It was Scott and Derek.

You sniffed the air and suddenly the scent of something hit your nose and you eyes shot open. You sat up and looked at Scott with a frown. You stood up cautiously and began sniffing Scott which made his eyes widen. You frown as you realised as much as you could tell he was your Alpha that wasn’t what smelt so good.

You head spun round instantly and you eyes locked with Derek. It was him…why did he smell so good? You thought absently as you turned around completely and walked over to him. His eyes flashed blue at you making your flash in return.

“You smell so good…” You whispered as you started circling him as you smelt his body.

“Derek what the hell is happening?” Scott muttered with wide eyes from across the room.

“I may have failed to mention I was 98% certain she’s my mate…but only when your wolves can you detect it from both sides…” Derek chuckled awkwardly as he blushed under your constant attentions but never moved away.

“Mate?” You perked up at the word and nuzzled against Derek’s neck as he allowed you to hang off his neck like a monkey as you practically climbed him like a tree.

“Okay this is because she’s a new wolf…she’ll learn to control it eventually…maybe I should go until she can control it?” Derek whispered and you instantly started growling.

“Mine.” You snapped as Scott tried to approach.

“I have zero intention of stealing Derek, Y/N you can keep him.” Scott muttered as he got closer but the second he took one step you launched, so before you could make contact, Scott let out an almighty roar than made even Derek’s knee’s wobble as you cowered low to the ground.

You blinked and suddenly felt a little more yourself thought you could still smell how good Derek smelt but now you knew better than to climb a man you barely knew like he was Mount Everest. You looked at Derek in horror and then at Scott with an exasperated look to why he let you climb Derek before doing his alpha roar.

“S-Sorry Derek I d-didn’t mean to do that…” You stuttered until you remembered what he’d said.

“It’s okay…I get the urges but I’m a born wolf so…I can control it. I’m sorry I should’ve told you before you took the bite but…your health…” Derek looked so guilty so when you started laughing he looked…shocked wasn’t a word that could do his face justice.

“You don’t have to apologise…you being my mate would’ve just been another reason for me to turn. What girl in the world doesn’t fantasies about having one man or in this case werewolf made to be her perfect match? It helps that you’re easy on the eyes and have a six pack.” You joked and Scott looked horrified by what you had said like you said the wrong thing but suddenly Derek started laughing and Scott looked even more worried and you suddenly remembered this was the first time you’d seen the older man laugh and it was the most beautiful thing you think you’d ever seen.

“You broke Derek.” Scott snorted as Derek finally stopped laughing.

“Shut up Scott.” Derek grumbled and suddenly he was back to his usual stoic self.

“Yeah Scott shut up.” You teased as Scott’s phone started ringing. The second he answered you heard Melissa’s voice over the phone asking his a million questions.

“She’s awake mom. Yes you can come over.” Scott huffed as his mother hung up so she could make her way over.

********

Within twenty minutes the whole pack was in the loft with smiles but all the new smells made you uneasy so you involuntarily moved closer to Derek and you almost thought you’d gotten away with it too but Lydia’s voice echoed through the loft and everyone was looking.

“What was that?” She sassed as she pointed between you and Derek.

“What was what?” You muttered innocently as you fought the urge to creep closer to Derek again.

“You know what. You moved closer to Derek. Scott’s your alpha and we’ve known you longer…yet you moved closer to the one wolf you know less than anyone in this pack.” Lydia stated like she had you pegged.

“No I did not.” You scoffed as your eyes flickered to Derek who looked strangely amused.

“You just gonna stand there and let this interrogation ensue? I will take you down with me.” You hissed softly and he just smirked, his arms crossing defiantly.

“I’m Derek’s mate. He hid it from us.” You threw him straight under the metaphorical bus and he looked terrified.

“I can’t believe you just did that.” Derek grumbled as everyone stared at them in shock.

“I can’t believe you weren’t gonna help me. Some mate you are.” You huffed with a childish glare and suddenly Derek let out a whine and your eyes shot open fully.

“Aww I didn’t mean that I’m sorry.” You sighed sadly and he nodded with a blush on his face.

“Sourwolf has been tamed…It’s a miracle.” Stiles cheered sarcastically and Lydia slapped his arm scoldingly.

“Why does everyone think its okay to slap me?” Stiles whined with an exasperated sigh.

“Because you never learn to keep your mouth closed.” Lydia sasses back making Stile shrink instantly.

“Congratulations if anyone deserves a mate in this world its you dear nephew.” Peter stated with a sad smile.

“I don’t know much about wolves but I’d say we should probably leave them to talk about it together…alone. Let’s go you supernatural young adults and fellow pack parents.” Melissa shouted sassily as she round everyone up but not before pulling you into a motherly hug.

“I’m happy this went better than anyone had expected. I like Hale, he’s loyal and in this world that all I can ask for you. I know I didn’t give birth to you but I have loved being a mother figure for the short year you were still a kid…” Melissa whispered softly, tears in her eyes as she wiped the already fallen ones from your face.

“I could be 30 and you’d still be the only person I’d ever consider a mother. Thank you for everything you have done for me.” You sobbed happily as she pulled you into another hug.

“I’m kind of glad you’re coming home. I’ve missed you…Scott wont let me paint his nails.” Melissa chuckled humorously before pulling away.

“Me too…I love you.” You muttered through a laugh.

“I love you too kiddo. Also Chris got back from France while you were sleeping. He brought you a present.” Melissa called over her shoulder as she turned to leave.

“Someone’s trying to earn brownie points?” You giggled and she shot you a wink before leaving out the loft door, Scott pulling it shut as he turned green with disgust as he tried to ignore what he’d just heard.

The second everyone had driven off you turned to Derek with shy smile. You had no idea how you supposed to act now everyone was gone. He was your mate but you barely knew one another and that was evident by how still Derek was.

“Was it hard not acting on your impulses?” You whispered as you resisted the urge to reach for him.

“Very…It doesn’t help that you’re so sweet to everyone…” Derek grumbled and you frowned softly as if asking what he meant but he shook his head.

“If we’re going to be mates…maybe should be more open with each other?” You suggested gently and Derek let out a sigh but nodded in agreement.

“When other wolves or supernaturals come near you…my wolf see’s them as competition…since we’re not completely mated.” He admitted awkwardly.

“S-So if I hugged Liam?” You asked nervously and Derek let out a growl in reply earning a smile from you.

“Okay…got it. How do we mate completely?” You asked curiously making Derek’s eyes widen.

“Exchanging bites…during a full moon…usually done during…ya know.” Derek flung his hands around like you knew what he meant and you caught on pretty quick but you didn’t let him know you just turned your head to the side looking at him innocently.

“I’m going to hell.” Derek groaned and you couldn’t hold back your laughter anymore.

His eyes shot up at the sound when he finally realised you knew what he meant. He shot you a glare, his arms crossing angrily as he stared you down. You gave a sweet smile in return, as you approached him slowly. He froze as you got closer as if he was trying to stop himself from touching you.

“I’m not that innocent Derek. You mean we need to bite one another whilst in the midst of some passionate full moon sex?” You snickered and Derek flushed but nodded in reply.

“Sounds kinky.” You giggled as you chest your chest against at Derek’s arms that were still folded.

“Once we mate…we’re together forever… you understand that right? If one of us dies then other will likely have to be put down…” Derek spoke seriously and your eyes widened at his words.

“W-Why?” You whispered fearfully.

“Because its documented that the few mates that have lost their other half go feral…but most mates die at the same time of old age usually.” Derek stated sadly as he reached for you only to pull back at the last second.

“Oh…well don’t die on me then.” You whispered with mild humour but mostly seriousness.

“C-Can I…never mind.” Derek huffed under his breath.

“Kiss me? Hug me?” You asked as he blushed.

“I’m so down for either.” You added and his eyes widened momentarily before softening.

Instead of words Derek’s arms circled your waist as his lips pushed against yours with a firm yet loving pressure that made your wolf howl. You gripped his t-shirt as his right hand cupped your cheek so gently you hardly believed it was the same, full shifting vicious black wolf that you’d seen in battle, yet it was. As he pulled away you let out a little whine before sending him a pout which made him smile happily.

“Yeah…nope…you’re gonna have to bring that right back on in here wolf man.” You stated as you pulled him down, Derek smiled into the kiss but happily obliged with you commanding request.

“Yep you’ve ruined me. Never letting you out my paws now.” You chuckled sweetly and Derek shook his head at your confidence before placing a kiss on your cheek.

“Come on its only 8 how about I take you out for dinner?” Derek asked, a smirk slipping onto his face as his eyebrow raised in a playful way.

“Are you asking me on a date Derek Hale?” You giggled equally as playful.

“If you call the local Italian place a date.” Derek muttered with a slight blush on his face.

“Let’s go DerBear.” You giggled as you skipped towards you door.

“Yeah that’s not gonna be a thing.” Derek grumbled as he grabbed his keys.

“Mhmm yeah it is my lovely mate.” You argued as you ran off ahead of him.

You knew this was just the beginning for you and Derek but you couldn’t help the amount of affection you could already feel for the older man. He was sweet with you which probably helped since you knew he wasn’t one to be over affectionate even with Scott who he loves like a brother but you couldn’t help but be happy it was only you who could have him like this.

You couldn’t wait to find out what your lives had in store for you and your mate.

Imagine coming home for Thanksgiving break and letting your family know you’re moving back home. Life in Beacon Hills ends up being a rollercoaster, but what a fun ride it is.

Words: 9.3K
Author’s Note: Um, excuse me.. but how the hell have y'all let me go so long without writing anything for Derek Hale?! I wrote three books, each book having 77 chapters, and not a single imagine for my favorite werewolf.
Warning for this..? Some violence though it’s not detailed. And Scott’s pack only consists of his inner circle (Stiles, Derek, Lydia and Malia). I wasn’t a fan of the baby beta or his friends.

Waking up only after a few hours from when you’ve finally fallen asleep is not your most favorite thing to do, but given that you never really caught the name of your bed partner you’re grateful to have woken up. You don’t have a problem with one night stands, but for a moment after you woke up your shyness always seeped back in after the deed had been done. Especially if your partner was attractive as hell and way out of your league.

So after collecting your clothes from around the random motel room, you hurriedly get dressed in hopes of escaping before the handsome stranger wakes up. However, as you’re reaching for the door handle, you spot his phone sitting there on a small table. You glance at it, then glance at your bed partner, and decide to be bold one last time.

Picking up the phone, you quietly scoff when you realize it’s not password protected. You enter your phone number into his contacts, wondering if he’ll ever see it, and then open up his Notes app to leave behind a message- Tonight was fun. If I’m ever passing through again I wouldn’t mind a repeat performance. Goodbye for now. YN.

Nose wrinkling at the note, you lock his phone without closing out the app so the next time he opens his phone the note is the first thing he’ll see. Leaving behind a message and hoping to bump into someone again is quite ballsy for you, so you quickly make your escape before you have second thoughts and erase all traces of you being there.

Safely outside the room then, you stumble over to your vehicle and already have plans in mind to find the nearest early morning café so you can get your caffeine fix and a drink for your mother before she leaves for her shift at the hospital. After all, you were only a couple miles outside of Beacon Hills when you had stopped to blow off some steam at a bar and had met your latest fling.

By the time you’re pulling up to your childhood home, your mother is exiting the front door. She walks halfway towards the driveway and a beaming smile breaks out when she sees you exiting your own car. And with two cups of coffee in hand, you shut the door with your hip and start towards her. “Hey, mom.”

“YN!” Melissa McCall says. “I didn’t know you were coming in today.” You hand her the full cup of coffee before kissing her cheek and hugging her. “Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I wanted to surprise you and Scott. And speaking of, where is the little miscreant?”

“Oh well Dr. Deaton had an emergency at the Vet Clinic so Scott went in to help.” Melissa frowns. “He’ll be back later, but if you need someone here I can call in-”

“No,” you immediately cut her off. “I’m okay, mom. Really. You go to work and I’ll just- I’ll head in to shower and then catch some Z’s before Scotty comes home.”

“Okay.” She smiles at you. “We’ve kept your room nice and tidy so you should be fine.”

“Are you kidding me? The mattress is probably stiff,” you tell her, grinning. “I’m totally crashing in your bed.”

Melissa chuckles. “If you say so. I’ll see you after work and hopefully Scott will see you sooner.”

“Mhm. Bye, mom.” You kiss her cheek one last time, watching her get in her vehicle and take off for work.

Once your mother’s vehicle is out of sight, you finish off the last of your coffee and head towards the trashcan by the curb to toss the empty cup. With your hands free, you open up the back door to your car and reach for your duffel bag of clean clothes. Then after the bag’s strap is draped across your body, you grab the two trash bags filled with dirty clothes so you can start your laundry as soon as possible.

Inside the home is just as you remember, with the exception of a few improvements here and there. You leave the duffel bag of clean clothes on the couch before making your way to the laundry room and starting your first load of laundry. Then when you’re back in the living room, you dig around for a clean set of clothes before setting out to take a shower and grabbing a few more hours of sleep.

                    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

You’re not sure how long you’ve been asleep when you’re suddenly disturbed, someone or something landing on the mattress next to you and bouncing you awake. Your heart pounds furiously as you try to get your bearings and you exhale a huge sigh of relief when you see your idiotic brother beaming at you.

“Scotty,” you sleepily smile at him. “What time is it?”

“Just after three. I came in earlier, but you were truly out of it. I thought I’d let you sleep a little longer.”

“So considerate of you.” You yawn and stretch, and then sit up while trying to tame your hair. “Are you busy for the rest of the day?”

“Nope. What do you have in mind?”

“Food. I want a cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake.”

“Alright, but you’re driving. All I have is my bike.”

“Done. Let me just put my clothes in the dryer and the other into the wash. Give me about fifteen minutes so I can change as well.”

Scott gives you enough time to tend to your laundry and change into appropriate clothing for being out in public, and then the two of you are in your car and driving towards a diner you used to frequent when you were younger.

When you get to the diner, Scott settles into a booth and you sit across from him. The waitress is surprised that both of you already have your food order when she stops by to take your drink orders and then you’re left staring at your brother.

“So how’s New York?” He asks.

“New York is fine,” you tell him, grinning, “but it’s not home.”

“Beacon Hills is hard to duplicate.”

You snort. “You’re telling me.” He chuckles along with you. “And speaking of, how is Beacon Hills faring this time of year? No.. issues as of late?”

You had known all about Scott’s little secret, but you’d only found out after you had left for schooling all the way in New York. He had wanted to keep you in the dark, but since you visited every now and then your mother had him tell you. It was a bit hard to believe, but everything you knew about the world changed the moment your brother’s features shifted into something animalistic one night. Since then you knew all about the shenanigans he and his friends got up to.

“Beacon Hills is good,” he tells you. “It’s quiet for once and we can actually focus on our studies and prepping for college.”

“Well that’s good. Are you going to be staying close to Beacon Hills?”

“I am. I’m going to be able to keep my part-time job at the vet clinic and then go full time alongside Doctor Deaton after I’m done with college.”

“That’s great, Scotty! I’m happy for you.”

“Thanks.”

Your food comes out quicker than expected and the next few minutes are spent savoring the first few bites. Scott wrinkles his nose when you dip some of your fries into the milkshake, but then ends up enjoying the combination himself when you make him try it. You end up talking a bit more between bites of food, he wanting to know all that you were up to in New York and he telling you all the drama that Stiles still dragged him into.

After you’re done eating, he takes you to surprise Stiles and his father Noah, and then you’re reintroduced to Lydia and introduced for the first time to Malia.

By the time you get home, your mother is off from her early morning shift and already scouring the pantry for something to make for dinner later that evening. Leaning against the kitchen island, you smile at your mom and brother. “Hey, so before I forget, I have a huge favor to ask.” Your mom and Scott come to a stop, staring at you. “What do you guys think of me moving back in? I can cover a portion of the bills and throw in some cash for groceries. I can pull my own weight around here.”

Scott blinks and then slowly grins. “You wanna come back?”

“Well I mean, yeah,” you muse. “I already have a job lined up and I’ll be starting around the middle of December.”

“Oh? Where at?” Your mother asks.

“Beacon Hills Memorial.”

“You applied at the hospital?”

“I did.” The two of you start to smile at the same time. “And I got the job. I just need a place to live now.”

“Of course,” she says. “You’re more than welcome to move back in.”

You chuckle in relief. “Thanks, mom.”

Over the next few days, you’re in planning mode with your mother and Lydia about what’s going to be done about Thanksgiving. Stiles and his dad are going to be joining your family, as well as Lydia and Malia. Your mother had also invited someone by the name of Chris. No one had a big enough dining room and it was Scott who suggested his friend Derek’s place since Derek’s loft was big enough for everyone. And after getting Derek on board, a list was made about who was going to take what.

On Thanksgiving day, you’re riding with your mother and Scott to the building Derek apparently owned, two dishes of green bean casserole sitting next to you. “So who is this Derek again?”

“Derek Hale,” your brother says.

“The werewolf, right? The one who was trying to help you, but going about it all wrong?”

“The one and the same.”

A moment passes and then your mother glances at you in the rearview mirror and asks, “Didn’t you used to have a crush on Derek Hale?”

Scott whips around in his seat, a look of betrayal passing over his features as you blink innocently at him. “Is he still as cute as I remember?”

“Oh gross!”

Your mother laughs in the driver’s seat as you tease your brother. “What about Peter? He was super cute if I remember correctly.”

“Absolutely not!” Scott practically shouts. “He’s a psycho! He took mom on a date after he bit me so I’d join his pack.”

“You went on a date with Peter Hale?!” You glance at your mother then. “How come I didn’t know about this?”

“Because it wasn’t really a date.” She laughs. “Your brother and Stiles ruined it before it even started. And there was only ever that one because Scott’s right, Peter’s a psycho.”

“Well damn. I missed all the fun stuff.”

You and your mother spend the rest of the ride laughing at Scott’s disgruntled mood, and when you get to your destination Lydia and Malia are just pulling up as well. Lydia gets off her car with two dishes of macaroni in her arms and Malia is holding boxes upon boxes of pies.

“Stiles and Noah are inside with the second turkey already,” Lydia informs you and your family when you exit the car. “Stiles is getting started on the mashed potatoes and I still have to make the yams.”

“Well these casseroles need to go in the oven for about half an hour or so, so that’s perfect timing.”

“Then let’s go because I’m starving,” Malia says.

The five of you head into a building that’s seen better days, but you’re surprised at the cleanliness on the inside. The cage-like elevator is one of the sketchiest you’ve ever seen, but Scott assures you it’s more than safe. The seconds that it takes to rise all the way to the top floor seems like a lifetime and you breathe a sigh of relief when you finally step off.

The door to the loft where dinner is to be held is wide open and immediately you’re taking in your surroundings. The loft is an open floor plan, so right away you can see the living room portion of it, the dining room, the kitchen, and even a bedroom. There’s a metal spiral staircase that leads up somewhere and a hallway that leads to God knows where. The walls and pillars are all brick, but your favorite part of this place is where the bed sits beneath a large wall of windows.

There are two tables set up- one with numerous chairs surrounding it and decorated for a Thanksgiving feast while the other is filled with all that fancy paper and plastic dinnerware so it’ll be an easier cleanup afterwards. You continue on to the kitchen, kissing Noah Stilinski’s cheek in passing and hip checking Stiles as he stands by the oven.

“Where do you want these casseroles?” You ask.

“Go ahead and slide them into the oven,” he says. “It’s already all warmed up.”

Settling the dishes on the countertop next to the oven, you take off their coverings before opening the oven and sliding in the dishes so they’re side by side. When you close the oven door and turn around, your mom surprises you with half a glass of wine.

“Oh. Thanks.” She smiles at you as you take a sip, leaning against the counter and letting yourself breathe now that all the prepping for dinner is just about done.

“YN! Come here for a sec,” Scott calls out.

You glance over at your brother to see a new individual with him and figure it must be Derek Hale. His back is towards you as he carries on a conversation with Malia and you can’t help but appreciate his shoulder to waist ratio in the tight shirt he’s got on. As you near, you go to take a sip of your wine just as Derek turns around and.. you inhale sharply and promptly choke.

You haven’t seen Derek Hale in years.

Scratch that.

You haven’t seen Derek Hale since you left him in bed the other morning.

A hand comes down on your back a few times until your airway clears, and when you can finally breathe again you glance to your left where Stiles is standing. “You good?”

“F-Fine! I’m fine,” you say. “Wine just went down the wrong pipe.”

“If you say so.” Stiles pats your back one last time before he leaves and when you finally brave a look at Derek’s face, dread fills you at his amused expression.

“So you’re Derek Hale, huh?” You nervously ask. “Gotta admit, I would not have recognized you had Scott not mentioned we were coming to your place.”

Derek huffs a brief laugh. “And you’re YN McCall. I didn’t know Scott had a sister.”

“That’s because I kept my nose out of everyone’s business and left Beacon Hills as soon as I graduated.”

“But now that YN has landed a job at the hospital, she’s moving back,” Scott proudly states while wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Isn’t that right, sis?”

“Yep.” You gulp under Derek’s gaze and then quickly chug the rest of the wine in your glass. “Oh would you look at that,” you say. “I need a refill.”

You quickly turn around and make your way back to the kitchen, taking the wine bottle from your mother and pouring yourself another glass.

Lydia glances at you, eyebrow raised. “You okay?”

You shrug. “Sure.”

Feeling your phone buzz, you take it out from your back pocket and see a text message from a number you don’t have saved. When you open it up, your heart starts to beat double.

You didn’t tell me you were from Beacon Hills or related to Scott.

Eyes narrowing, you set down your glass of wine to text back.

Yeah? Well you didn’t tell me you were from Beacon Hills either! Or that you were Derek Hale. I don’t remember you looking like this.

When you meet Derek’s gaze from across the room after he reads his text, he slowly smirks and it makes you feel all sorts of things. Quickly you squash down those fluttery feelings because you’re in a room with two wolves and a coyote, and you know they can hear and smell all sorts of things. His nostrils flare before his smirk widens even more and you pick up your glass of wine once more before chugging its contents.

Stalking towards Lydia after setting your glass down, you grab the banshee by the wrist. “Come on. Show me where the bathroom is in this place.”

As Lydia leads you through the room, you watch as Malia narrows her eyes on you as you pass. You gesture for her to follow and she’s quick to abandon Scott in favor of following you and Lydia. Then when you get into the bathroom, you shut and lock the door behind the three of you and immediately turn on the water faucet.

“Alright,” Lydia sighs, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against the sink, “what’s going on with you?”

You open your mouth to answer, only to snap it shut and pull out your phone instead. Opening up your Notes app, you type out your response instead. When you turn your phone around so they can read it, Lydia and Malia put their heads together as they read:  I slept with Derek the morning I showed up here in Beacon Hills!

Lydia’s eyes widen, but it’s Malia who snorts in amusement. “Oh hell. This Thanksgiving just got a hundred times more interesting.”

“Malia,” you whine, stomping your foot when she starts to giggle, “this isn’t funny!”

“Why are you freaking out?” Lydia muses quietly.

“Because I didn’t know it was him at the time!” You squeak, voice equally as quiet. “The Derek I remember didn’t look like that!” You gesture wildly towards the door as if he were just outside.

“His name didn’t ring a bell when you were hooking up?” Malia asks.

“Well, uh, I was a little too preoccupied with what his tongue and fingers were doing to remember whether he said his name or not.

"This is both disgusting and entertaining as hell,” Malia says. “Leave it to my cousin to bang Scott’s older sister.”

A moment of silence passes before both girls erupt with laughter. Your eyes widen and you quickly swat at their arms. “Shut up, shut up, shut up!”

“Don’t be so worried,” Malia murmurs. “If it makes you feel any better, he didn’t seem disgusted or disappointed when Scott introduced you. He seemed surprised.”

“I..” Your mouth shuts and you take a brief moment to think about it. “Yeah okay. That does make me feel better because I might have left him a note on his phone saying I wouldn’t mind a repeat performance if I ever passed through again.”

Malia bites her lip to keep from laughing and you can’t help the blush that erupts. Lydia sighs, amused, and wraps her arm around your shoulders. “What are we going to do with you?” She muses. “Now come on. Pull up your panties and get back out there. You and Derek are both adults.”

“Yeah, but.. Scott. And Stiles,” you frown. “I remember vividly everything they ever said about Derek Hale after Scott had been bitten.”

Lydia waves you off. “Derek wasn’t as bad as they made him out to be. He was just trying to make the best of whatever situation he found himself in. Your brother and Stiles can just get over it.”

“And if they don’t,” Malia’s eyes flare blue, “we’ll take care of them.”

With the two girls in your corner, it’s easier to leave the bathroom. Scott immediately looks at you, expression curious, but you paste on a smile and assure him everything is fine. You just needed a bit of girl talk. Your mother pulls you aside for a quick conversation to make sure you’re okay as well, but you promise you’ll tell her when you get home later. Then when you catch Derek’s gaze, he raises his eyebrow at you and you smile, biting the corner of your lip to keep from laughing when he starts to smile back. The last thing you need to do is nervously giggle and draw even more attention to yourself.

Chris Argent is the last to show up and you’re surprised to find out he’s actually your mother’s boyfriend. You politely greet him and then glance at Lydia, mouthing what the fuck? before subtly high fiving your mother for a job well done. Scott was not impressed.

When all the food is done and laid out along the countertops, Noah and Chris carve up both turkeys. Everyone grabs themselves a plate and forms a line to serve themselves before taking their plate to the table. As Derek and Noah each sit at opposite ends of the table, Stiles, Lydia, Scott and Malia take one side of the table with Stiles closest to his dad and Malia closest to her cousin. On the other side sits, Chris, your mother and then finally yourself with Chris closest to Noah and you closest to Derek. Malia can’t help but wiggle her eyebrows at you and you quickly kick at her shin under the table.

Dinner goes surprisingly well, especially when the wine starts flowing between all the adults, yourself included. Chris and Noah are interested in knowing all that you’ve been doing in New York, and congratulate you on getting a job in Beacon Hills when your mother gushes about it again. You poke fun at Scott and Stiles about their younger years, and it’s Chris who brings up the question about you knowing Derek while he was in school. Your eyes had subtly widened at being mentioned in the same sentence as Derek, but Scott still caught it and started to choke on his own tongue. You stammered through the excuse that you knew of Derek, but the two of you had never spoken. Derek had backed you up on that statement, admitting to knowing of you in school but he had never connected the dots to you being Scott’s sister.

The conversation moves on to what everyone else’s plans are for after high school, then all too soon everyone starts grumbling about getting back to their respective houses before they go into a food coma. You quickly help your mom clean up a bit so Derek doesn’t have to while several others pack themselves some to-go trays. Everyone thanks Derek for hosting before leaving one after the other. You manage to catch his eye, tapping your phone when it seems like he wants to talk with you and you mentally sigh with relief when he nods.

Outside, Scott leaves with Lydia and Malia so he can spend a bit of time with Malia and her adoptive dad. Stiles plans to drop off his dad before heading to Lydia’s and even your mom makes plans with Chris after she drops you off at home. You had offered to take the car so she could leave with Chris, but she had mentioned wanting to have a quick conversation with you.

Inside the car, you’ve barely gotten out of the parking lot before your mother says, “Spill.”

You nervously shift in your seat, pasting on a smile you’re sure she sees right through. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Mhmm,” she muses, lips twitching. “So you didn’t nearly asphyxiate yourself when you laid eyes on Derek Hale? Not to mention that he couldn’t keep his gaze from darting to you every other minute. And the fact that you dragged Lydia and Malia to the bathroom wasn’t suspicious at all,” she drawls.

“Okay. I get it. I wasn’t exactly subtle.” You frown as she laughs and it takes you a moment to think about what you want to say. When you have it all figured out, you sigh. “So remember how you encouraged sex positivity so long as everything was consensual and everyone was safe?”

“..yes?”

“Well as you know.. everyone has their needs. I’ve never been a relationship type of gal because I knew New York was never going to be permanent, so I had flings here and there.” You pause, nose wrinkling when you hear your mother gasp as she immediately pieces the rest of the story together. “I needed to blow off some steam right before I entered Beacon Hills, so I stopped at a bar. The pickings were very slim and I thought I was just going to come straight home before this guy started chatting me up. Immediately he gave off frat boy vibes so I wasn’t interested, but he wouldn’t take a hint. Enter Derek Hale.”

“Oh my god.”

“Only I didn’t know it was Derek Hale at the time because he grew up so goddamn fine and I wasn’t paying attention to whether or not he said his name.”

“This is my Christmas present, just so you know. Nothing you tell me ever again is going to top this.”

“You’re a horrible mother,” you deadpan and Melissa absolutely loses it. “Anyway, Derek stuck around because the frat boy was keeping watch, and then before we knew it hours had passed. We got a room, we hooked up, and then a few hours later I was sneaking out of the motel room after leaving a note on his phone that I wouldn’t mind a repeat performance if we ever ran into each other again.”

“YN!”

“What?! I didn’t think I actually would run into him again or that he was Derek freakin’ Hale who lived in the same town as I did. I was just feeling bold and running off of very little sleep when I left that note.”

Your mother starts to laugh and you slump in your seat as her laughter just seems to go on and on. And before you can say anything else, your phone chimes in your lap and your heart beats triple as you see Derek’s number sitting there. Opening it, you quietly read it to yourself.

Are you free tomorrow? I think we should talk.

Quickly typing back, you tell him you’re free and ask where he wants to meet up.

A few moments later, his reply comes in.

I’ll pick you up around six. We can grab a bite to eat too.

You text back that that’s fine with you and then save his number.

As you set your phone down you can feel your mother glancing at you, but you don’t say anything. “Was that Derek?” She asks after she realizes you aren’t going to say anything.

“Yeah,” you admit. After all, there was no use in hiding it. “He wants to meet up tomorrow and grab a bite to eat.”

“Ooohh. Is this a date?”

You shrug. “Doubt it. He probably just wants to clear the air between us since he and Scotty have their whole werewolf pack thing going on for them. Better to make peace with your one night stand than part on iffy terms and have her werewolf brother pissed off with you.”

Melissa snorts. “Derek Hale is many things, but being scared of Scott is not one of them.” You chuckle. “He definitely wants to clear the air, but I doubt it’s just so you can part ways. You didn’t see the way he was looking at you, sweetheart. That boy is definitely interested.”

“Well I guess we’ll see tomorrow,” you say with a soft sigh.

The rest of the ride is silent and then you’re being dropped off at home. With your mind running a mile a minute and your anxiety trickling in about your imminent talk with Derek, you keep yourself busy by picking up around the house before showering. Then once you’ve gotten yourself under control, you pull up Netflix on your TV and put on a baking show you binge every now and then while attempting to paint your toenails before climbing under the covers and drifting off to sleep.

The next day you’re so fidgety that Scott can’t help but wonder what’s going on. You try to feed him excuse after excuse, but his damn wolfy senses know you’re not being truthful with him. Eventually you figure you should tell him, but not before dragging your mother into the room with you so your brother doesn’t blow a gasket. And surprisingly, Scott finds amusement in your hook-up story with Derek. The way he sees it, you’re both adults and he doesn’t care who you spend time with so long as it doesn’t interfere with pack dynamics. It also kind of helped that you were the older sibling and a threat here and there curbed his more negative thoughts.

Your mother eventually has some errands to run and Scott gets called into the vet clinic. He promises to not breathe a word to Stiles about you and Derek until the two of you come to an understanding about whether you want to keep seeing each other or not, and then you’re left all alone with your thoughts once more.

It’s a lot harder to keep your mind off Derek Hale now that you know what you know, but you manage to hold yourself together long enough to take a shower and find a decent outfit for the evening.

When 6:05 rolls around, your heart practically leaps from your chest when your phone chimes with a text from Derek. I’m outside is all it says and you quickly grab your jacket from the hook by the front door before exiting the house. You’re expecting Derek to be waiting for you while sitting inside his car, so you’re not expecting to see him casually leaning against the hood of his black Chevy Camaro.

When he sees your startled expression, Derek slowly smiles. “YN McCall.”

“Derek Hale,” you muse, slipping your arms into your jacket. “Don’t you dare make this weird.”

He huffs a laugh as he pushes off the hood of his car when you approach, walking to the passenger door and opening it for you. “I think if anyone is going to make this weird, it’d be your brother and Stiles.” You roll your eyes, lips twitching as you fall into the passenger seat. Derek shuts the door after you as you buckle up, walking around to his side of the car and dropping into the driver’s seat after he opens the door. “Does your brother even know who you’re with right now?”

“First off, how rude of you to assume that my brother needs to know who I’m spending my time with.”

“That wasn’t a denial.”

“Because I wasn’t denying it. I just said it was rude to assume.” He chuckles as he starts his car, reversing out of the driveway and readily heading down the street. You sigh softly, grinning as you stare out the windshield. “Scott knows exactly who I’m with. I ended up having to tell him about how we had already met before Thanksgiving and he.. he took it surprisingly well.”

“So I don’t have to be looking over my shoulder anytime soon?”

“I mean you’ll probably have to deal with Stiles’ remarks when he eventually finds out, but Scott’s made it clear that I’m an adult and I can handle my own business.”

“You threatened him, didn’t you?”

“Just a little.” When you briefly meet Derek’s gaze, the two of you laugh out loud. Then once your laughter calms, you ask, “So where are we going?”

“There’s a diner I found a few miles out of town. Figured I couldn’t go wrong with a place that offered a variety of food.”

You groan in happiness. “I love diners. And if you’re taking me there then that means it’s passed the test with your wolfy taste buds and is actually good food.”

Derek shakes his head in fond amusement, the rest of the drive mostly silent with the exception of the radio playing softly so it’s not totally silent. The drive is fairly quick and you can’t help but give a little happy dance in your seat when you see the diner lit up in all its glory.

You and Derek don’t waste any time climbing out of his car, and he walks a little ahead of you to open the diner door. You grin up at him, stepping into the diner and then letting him choose where he wants to sit. An older waitress brings over two menus and takes your drink orders, she beaming the entire time at you and Derek. You place your drink orders and quickly scour the menu before opting for chicken and waffles.

Your drinks are quickly brought out and your food orders placed, and the two of you make small talk about your experiences in New York and the favorite places you visited while waiting for your food to arrive. In a brief lull in the conversation, he sips his Cola before staring right at you and getting straight down to business. His hands clasp together in front of him atop the table as he asks, “So.. about us? Now that we’re aware of each other, what do you want to do about it?”

You splutter a little seeing as he asked while you were sipping your own drink, and weakly glare at him when he smirks. “Why.. why are you leaving this up to me? What do you want to do?” You ask him instead.

“Well you did say you’d be up for a repeat performance.”

Your words being thrown back into your face makes your nose wrinkle and you kick at his ankle under the table when he laughs. “To be fair, I just thought it would be another hook-up with a stranger. I didn’t actually think I’d personally know or get to know the guy I was sleeping with.”

“Does that change anything?”

“Honestly?” Your eyebrow raises at him and you shrug. “It’s a little weird considering I’d been hearing Scott and Stiles complaining about you for years, but other than that.. not really. Does me being Scott’s sister change anything for you?”

Derek mimics your shrug. “Not really. You’re a consenting adult, but it does make things a little easier knowing that Scott won’t interfere.”

“Nor will my mom, Lydia or Malia.” Derek’s eyes narrow and you laugh at his expression. “What? I panicked on Thanksgiving and needed to get it off my chest in your bathroom.”

“Which explains Lydia and Malia knowing,” he says. “Why did you tell your mom?”

“That’s actually your fault,” you tell him. “Mom noticed you kept staring at me throughout dinner and knew something was up. She thought it was absolutely hilarious when I told her my predicament.”

“So what I’m hearing is that there’s nothing holding us back should we want to continue this thing between us.”

“The only thing that would be holding us back is ourselves,” you muse. “So what do you say, Derek? Wanna see if anything truly blossoms between us or just leave it at the one night stand?”

Before Derek can answer, the waitress is dropping off your food and asking if there’s anything else you need. When all you ask for are refills for your drinks, she quickly gets those for you before you dig into your food. “I’d like to continue talking.”

You slowly smile. “Awesome. Me too.” You unwrap your utensils from it’s napkin, reaching for the bottle of syrup to pour over your waffles and bite-sized pieces of chicken. “And fair warning, if you eat off my plate before I’ve finished what I’m capable of, I will stab you with my fork. Food stealing is a deal breaker.”

Derek chuckles. “No food stealing. Got it.”

As you take your first bite, you groan in complete satisfaction and immediately cut yourself off another portion. “So are we taking things slow or not? Because bringing me here for this deliciousness has definitely earned at least two sexual favors.”

Derek chokes his bite of food and you quickly cover your mouth with a napkin as you cackle at his reddening ears.

With the couple of weeks you have off before you start your daytime shifts at the hospital, you find yourself seeking out Derek’s company when he’s not busy with the pack. Sometimes you join your brother and his friends, learning about pack dynamics since you were going to be spending a lot of your time with them and would eventually pick up their scent. The last thing any of them wanted was you being approached by a visiting werewolf and you being out of your depth because you knew nothing about werewolf politics.

Things between you and Derek are surprisingly easy and fun, and not even Stiles can put a damper on things. Not when he sees Derek actually smile for the first time when you had tackled Scott for daring to grab one of your egg rolls from your plate, sitting on his back and pressing his face into the floor while making him promise to never steal your food again.

Then when you start work and things between you and Derek are a little more solid, it starts getting harder and harder to leave his loft at night. And when Derek finally asks you to stay the night, you promise that the nights where you’re off the following morning are all his. Other than that, you’ll be staying at your own house since you’d be tempted to not get out of bed for work if he was lying next to you.

Life back in Beacon Hills is easy. It’s even fun!

Until one day it isn’t.

You’d stayed the night at Derek’s, sleeping in the upstairs room because Derek had mentioned an early meeting with a visiting pack from the northern part of California. You were to stay in bed upstairs while they had their meeting downstairs, so you’re surprised to get a sudden message from Lydia telling you otherwise.

Put on one of Derek’s shirts and pretend you’d forgotten about the meeting going on. Just play along. Don’t ask questions.

Sighing softly, you quickly and quietly get out of bed to do as you’re told. You strip off your shirt in favor of the dark gray henley Derek had dropped on the floor on his way to bed the previous night and strip off your shorts since the shirt was long enough to have you covered. Then pulling the tie out of your hair, you ruffle it to give yourself the bedhead look and then grab your phone.

Phone in hand, you pull up social media and randomly scroll through the newsfeed as you carefully take the stairs one at a time. The talking ceases, but you don’t raise your gaze from your phone until you’re on the last step. “Oh.” You owlishly blink at every gaze directed at you, biting the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing at the amusement dancing in Lydia’s eyes. “Today was that meeting, wasn’t it?” You wince. “I’m sorry for interrupting. I just needed a glass of water.”

Three newcomers are sitting on the couch, one male in the middle with another male and a female sitting on either side of him- the female looking rather put out about something. Scott sits opposite them with Derek and Stiles on either side of him, and Malia and Lydia perched on the back of their couch, but Derek looks tense and annoyed. You can see it in his eyes that he’s over this meeting already.

You only make it a few steps toward the kitchen before Scott stands and you freeze. He gestures you over as he clears his throat, only introducing you when you’re close enough. “Alpha Lewis, this is YN McCall. My sister. YN, this is alpha Lewis, his daughter Denise and his beta Travis.”

You smile politely as the alpha stands, reaching forward to shake hands with him. “Hello.”

Alpha Lewis finally smiles and you have a very unsettling feeling about the way he’s looking at you. “Sister? I didn’t know you had a sister.”

You pull your hand back and step just behind Scott’s shoulder as your brother shrugs. “I didn’t think I had to announce every family member I had.”

“I’ve been away since I graduated,” you say. “Just recently came home for a job opportunity.”

“That’s wonderful,” Alpha Lewis says, eyes glinting. Then he meets Scott’s gaze. “Well if Mr. Hale is no longer available for the alliance we had in mind, I’m sure the sister of the alpha will do just as nicely.”

His words confuse you, but you know they mean nothing good when Derek suddenly snarls and you’re being pulled down onto his lap, his arms wrapping protectively around your waist. The visiting pack’s eyes widen, you tense, and Scott pinches the bridge of his nose.

As you glance around for someone to explain what the hell is going on, you find Stiles smirking. “We weren’t lying when we told you Derek was no longer an option for the proposed alliance. Neither is YN, as you can see.”

The alpha holds himself a little taller just as his daughter Denise scoffs, eyes narrowing. “And how long has this been going on? It’s quite the coincidence Derek’s dating the sister of the alpha all of a sudden.”

You raise an eyebrow at her, grinning as you settle back against Derek and cross one leg over the other as you run your hands along his arms. “I’m sorry, but I don’t see why me banging Derek is important here.”

“It’s important because Derek was promised to me!” Denise’s eyes flare yellow in her annoyance.

Scott growls in response, eyes flaring red in warning. Denise glares at Scott until her dad- her own alpha- snarls at her to back down. “Derek was not promised to anyone.” Your brother glances between you and Denise before settling his gaze on the other alpha. “When you came to me with the proposal of an alliance with my pack, we said we’d think about it. No promises were made. Now as you can see, the alliance through marriage is off the table. There are other ways to broker an alliance.”

Alpha Lewis’ lips purse. “Hmm. But the marriage proposal was more iron clad.”

“I’m sorry, but you’re just going to have to take my word,” Scott says. “Alpha to alpha, whatever we come up with, my pack and I will abide by it so long as your pack does the same.”

“We’ll see.”

The two alphas continue to stare each other down before alpha Lewis tells his daughter and beta that they’re leaving. He tells Scott that they’ll be in touch to hammer out an alliance pact and then Malia is quick to escort them out to the elevator. The loft is left in a tense silence and you shift around on Derek’s lap until you’re sitting sideways, one hand resting on the back of his neck since he still seems more than a little agitated.

No one says anything, though Stiles looks like he’s about to verbally burst, but your brother has this look of concentration on his face that’s keeping everyone quiet. Then finally Scott’s whole demeanor relaxes, however you beat Stiles to the punch. “What the hell just happened?”

“You totally just pissed off a werewolf,” Stiles blurts.

You huff a laugh. “Why? Because she wanted Derek?”

“They’re a new pack.” Derek’s chest rumbles as he speaks. “Our pack is apparently the strongest on the West coast and everyone wants an alliance with us.”

“Denise set her eyes on Derek the moment she saw him,” Lydia says. “We spoke to them a couple months back and she willingly offered herself up for Derek and Derek only. It’s why I told you to get your butt down here drenched in his scent.”

“So I basically just put a target on my back.”

Your nails lightly dig into the back of Derek’s neck and he exhales softly, resting his forehead against your temple. “If she or anyone from her pack comes after you, I will personally rip her apart piece by piece.”

“Me too,” Malia volunteers, looking a little too giddy at the prospect of a fight.

Scott shakes his head, amused. “Just.. keep your eyes open. If anyone disobeys Alpha Lewis, it’ll be his daughter.”

“Well that’s comforting,” you muse.

“You don’t worry,” Derek says. “Just continue on as you have been and we’ll-”

“Keep your noses to the ground?” Stiles snorts and leans across the sofa for a high five that you happily oblige him with. Derek nips your shoulder in retaliation and you laugh as you settle back against him. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist. But okay. I will keep my eyes and ears open, and report back to you guys with any suspicious activity.”

Over the next few days when you can’t shake the feeling of being watched, you and Derek come up with a specific set of text messages to be traded when you got to work, before and after your lunch break, and when you got home from work. Surprisingly you took being kidnapped very seriously and you wanted the pack to know something was off if you missed a check in or a non pre-arranged text had been sent to make it seem like the pack was speaking with you when they weren’t.

Stiles was all for the covert texting, even if the others thought it was just a little much.

Fortunately for everyone, especially yourself, your paranoia pays off one day when you get home from work and are immediately slammed up against the door when you turn to lock it. “Ow.” Thankfully you had turned your head at the last second so the side of your face hit the door, but the intruder has a really good grip on your ponytail as they press you harder into the door’s surface. “What.. the hell.”

“You thought you could take away my only chance at making my father proud? Huh?!” You try to glance out of the corner of your eye.. and oh. It’s the she-wolf Denise and she does not look happy. Now this sudden attack makes sense. “All I had was one job- marry the last of the Hale line and unite my father’s pack with the McCall pack.” She pulls you back slightly, only to forcefully slam you against the door again. “But then you come waltzing in-” Pull back. Slam! “-and take the Hale wolf right from under my nose!” She slams you once more, growling for good measure.

You groan. “And you’re attacking me because..?” You brace your hands on the door. “Breaking into Alpha McCall’s home is a no-no, Denise. You can kiss any alliance with my brother’s pack goodbye.” Then pushing with all your might, you manage to shove both yourself and Denise away from the door so you can turn around, but she’s quick to backhand you. Your head whips to the side and blood slowly trickles into your mouth. You spit. “And that calls for retaliation.”

When you meet Denise’s yellow gaze, she flashes you a fangy grin. “And that’s where you’re wrong. We’ve travelled all over the states, learning from werewolf pack after werewolf pack. And you wanna know what I learned?” She lunges at you, pulling back at the last second and laughing cruelly when you flinch. “I learned how to mask my scent. No one’s going to know that I was even here.”

Your phone chimes from your back pocket and there’s a split second where the two of you freeze. You make a run for the living room in the next moment, but she’s quick to push her leg out and sends you sprawling along the floor when you trip over her foot. You attempt to crawl away from her, only for her to scramble atop the back of your legs and grab your phone instead.

“No. Don’t!”

“What’s this? Hmm?” She releases you and you scramble away, getting your hands and knees under you so you can turn over. “It seems the other human wants to go out to a movie tonight.” She sneers at the screen as she reads the message. “How cute.”

“S-Stiles knows I’m off from work,” you say. “If I don’t reply, he’ll come looking.”

“Then we need to make sure no one comes to find you until that mother of yours gets off of work.” Her fingers work fast as they type out a reply and you breathe a little easier. With Denise not knowing the correct phrase to reply with, the pack will be notified of something being wrong. All you have to do is stall now. “There.” She locks your phone and tosses it onto the couch. “Now that you’ve asked for a rain check because you’re feeling quite exhausted from a shift at the hospital, we’ve got about an hour or so to play.”

You scoff. “Even if you take me out of the equation, Derek Hale will never marry you. He didn’t want you then and he sure as hell doesn’t want you now.”

“We’ll just see about that.”

You try to hurry and stand up, but Denise kicks the coffee table into you. You fall back down and try to crawl away, but she swiftly kicks you in the abdomen. You shout out in pain, tears immediately stinging your eyes. You continue to crawl, whimpering each time her boot sends you sprawling.

For the next few minutes, you endure taunt after taunt and hit after hit. You’re slammed into walls and onto the coffee table, even pushed into cabinets. A lot of stuff is breaking during her mission to make the crime scene the most brutal she can and you know you’re in deep trouble when you feel something in your arm snap.

You scream, to the point your throat aches, and seconds later the front door is thrown open. You’re huddled in the corner of the living room, so you’re able to see Denise whirl around and have to face the wrath of Derek who had slid into your home, catching himself on the wall before leaping to his feet and taking a threatening step in Denise’s direction.

Malia and Scott aren’t that far behind Derek, and all three of them paint a terrifying picture with their eyes glaring red and blue.

“Huh. Well would you look at that,” you deliriously mumble, your vision swimming and slowly darkening around the edges. “Your little scent trick no longer matters. You’re fucked.”

“You stupid little-”

A deafening roar erupts, making you wince and your teeth chatter. You hear a yelp and a scuffle takes place, but you can’t seem to focus any longer and welcome the darkness that soon greets you.

The next time your eyes open up, you’re staring at the all too familiar patterned ceiling of the hospital. There’s a consistent beeping coming somewhere from your left and the telltale itching of tape’s adhesive from where they’ve inserted an IV line into the back of your hand. Your right arm feels a little heavier than usual and when you glance at it you see it’s been wrapped in a black cast.

The door to your room- a private room, you quickly realize- opens and a nurse walks in. She’s one of your co-workers and she seems startled, yet relieved, to see you awake. She quickly explains that she just needs to check your vitals before alerting your family and you nod, knowing the routine like the back of your hand given you do exactly what she does when working.

When she’s done and out the door, it’s not long before your mom, Scott and Derek are entering the room. Your mom and Scott take up one side of your bed while Derek takes the other, immediately reaching for your hand and carefully holding it between both of his. “So I missed the ass kicking then?” Your mom chuckles softly as Scott weakly grins at you. “What did I miss?”

“Alpha Lewis and his pack are no longer welcome in the state of California,” Scott says. “They’ve been exiled.”

“And if I ever see any of them anywhere near Beacon Hills, I will personally rip them apart. With my teeth,” Derek warns.

“Ooohhhh. Scary,” you tease, lightly poking at Derek’s cheek with your free hand. A small jolt of pain rushes up your arm from the tip of your finger and you grimace. “Ow. I think the pain meds are wearing off.”

“Oh. Do you need more?” Melissa is quick to glance around for the remote that administers more medication, but you’re quick to wave her off.

“No, mom, I’m good. It’s not that painful.” She immediately stops fussing. “What’s the damage then?”

“Your most major injury is the broken arm,” your mom tells you. “You were very fortunate to just have bruises and cuts.”

“Mhm. And what’s the story?”

“Home invasion gone wrong,” Scott admits. “The Sheriff and deputy Parrish know the real reason though, so they have pictures of all known pack members from the Lewis pack in case any of them come back.”

“Good.”

You yawn and shift around in bed, and you catch your mom glancing between you and Derek. You gesture towards the door before glancing at Scott and she seems to get the message. She’s quick to make an excuse for Scott to leave the room with her and he does so, even as he looks at you so it’s acknowledged he knows exactly why your mom is making him leave. You huff a quiet laugh and blow him a kiss, and then you’re left alone with Derek.

“Will you stop looking so glum,” you tell him. “I’m fine.”

“You weren’t fine when I nearly had to break down your mom’s door.”

“I bet you no one will mock my coded text messages now, huh? I knew that would come in handy someday.”

Derek finally chuckles and you pull your hand from between his own to lightly cup his cheek. “And to think we were concerned about either of us causing drama. Nope. The drama came from an outside source who wanted the D.”

He grimaces. “Can you not joke about this? I’m still a little shaken at how far she was willing to go all for an alliance through marriage.”

“People do stupid things to make their parents proud. Bagging the last of the Hale line was just what her dad wanted and well.. I kind of threw a wrench into their plans by dating you.”

“Still doesn’t make it right.”

“It doesn’t, but what’s done is done. Scott’s exiled them from California so now we can all just move on from this.”

You sleepily smile at Derek and he shakes his head in disbelief at you. “I don’t understand how you’re so okay with this. I’d be livid if I were in your place.”

“Oh I will be,” you say. “Eventually. Most likely when all these damn drugs are out of my system.”

“Still flying high?”

“Like a kite.”

Derek snorts. “Go back to sleep. You’re being discharged later.”

“Mmm. Okay.”

As your eyes slip close, you smile as you feel Derek press a kiss to your forehead. This was your first taste of what being part of Scott’s pack consists of.. and you wouldn’t have it any other way. Especially if Derek, in all his wolfy glory, came to your rescue.

You definitely wouldn’t mind seeing that again.
