It has been a few months since you passed, but it has only been a week - maybe two - since I stopped

It has been a few months since you passed, but it has only been a week - maybe two - since I stopped seeing you out of the corner of my eye, since your shining face has ceased gracing my first glance around corners, since I last hallucinated your shape reclining in the morning sun. I understand that means that my brain has finally habituated to your absence, that to me, even in the deep-scatter - in fractious nebulae of my reality - you are truly gone. Silence triumphs over the echo, as it always must. But I know too that the souls of cats are special, that their destinies are mysterious, and that the paths they walk are inscrutable and ever-branching. I will look for you, Macy, my familiar, where the lensing of the light reveals what is obscured, where the Eldritch Things roam, when the Moon shakes and bellows and bares her teeth. ❤️❤️❤️.

lovingdevotedobedient:

Corner-time or time-outs serve some wonderful purposes…..but the next time your wife has completed all of the chores, have her spend her free time simply kneeling and thinking. Not as a punishment, but instead as a way for her to simply spend her time.

Having her spend her free time like this can do so very much for reaffirming her place in the marriage, and also illustrates to her where her leisure activities fall in regards to priorities.

Ask her to think about a specific topic, or just have her kneel there. Just as long as she’s there instead of doing what she would otherwise desire to be doing.

When she spends her free time like this even though she absolutely hates it……you have a loving and devoted wife. When and if she begins to enjoy spending her free time like this because she knows it pleases you…..you have a loving and devoted wife. So, it doesn’t really matter how she feels about it….it’s just important that she does it.

You know you’ve succeeded when……she finishes up with all she has to do, and she goes and kneels in her quite place without even being told. She is sacrificing her free time to simply exist for the man she loves. THIS IS LOVE!

this is a list of small devotional acts to honour and bond with athena, greek goddess of wisdom, war, battle strategy, and the arts

image

» read

» take up sewing, weaving, or knitting

» research something! this is actually a hobby of mine, i’ll randomly research something of interest to me. you can do podcasts (i love the killing of marilyn monroe), youtube videos, books, online articles, through anything.

» stick up for yourself and those you care about

» voice your beliefs

» …learn proper grammar if you haven’t already lmao

» study, if you’re in school, or even if you’re not, learning is a lifelong journey

» exercise! not necessarily for appearance reasons but for your overall physical and mental health

» take a self defense class (especially if you’re female)

» can’t take a self defense class? utilize the internet and research pressure points and other overall safety tips (again, especially if you’re female)

» wake up early

» do chores, even just making your bed can make a huge difference (…i say white writing this from an unmade bed)

» pay attention in class

» pay attention to the arts, too. athena is a matron of the arts too

» write or read poetry

» use olive oil products

» incorporate cinnamon, geranium, cedar wood,  and patchouli into your life

» offer her coffee, she really likes it

» journal

» study up on history (even if it’s just listening to hamilton, i get the feeling she really likes it)

» spend time in bookstores and libraries, even if you’re not reading

» work on your self confidence

» take care of your mental health (i.e. taking pills, resting when needed, etc)

» to add on to the previous point, focus on self care! try to focus on the inside more than the outside, but let’s face it: who doesn’t love a good face mask and bubble bath

» volunteer for leadership positions (if you’re in school, student council, MUN, etc and if you’re at work, offer to supervise or organise an event)

» use crystals like amazonite, sodalite, tourmaline, tiger’s eye, and blue howlite

»  play strategy games

»  watch movies/tv with her! (i associate les mis, sherlock, brooklyn 99, and law and order as things she may like)

I didn’t attend church today, because I’ve got a cold and didn’t want to get anyon

I didn’t attend church today, because I’ve got a cold and didn’t want to get anyone else sick, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have worship. Around 2 o'clock took a bicycle and hit the New River Trail. I biked the first two miles like a madman, quickly tiring myself, so I turned to go back. On the way back, I put on some Christian music I haven’t listened to in forever, such as TobyMac and Disciple, and just sat down and took it easy, looking around and relaxing. It was such a beautiful day, and for the first time in months, I felt God’s presence in full force. Don’t get me wrong, I know He’s been there the whole time. I just haven’t stepped away from this world’s madness long enough to notice. Here I was, in the middle of nature, away from the Internet, away from Facebook, texting no one, no distractions, and now I could focus on God. Everything suddenly seemed so beautiful, or rather I finally noticed it’s beauty. I turned into a 7 year old girl with my phone’s camera, pulling to the side of the trail, taking pictures of everything, wanting to share this with everyone. I got back to my vehicle, and turned back around to ride those two miles again. Now, I could give you several different devotions from this, but I think I’ll just sum up two things I want you to take away from this.1. Only when I stopped riding so quickly and heavily, deciding rather to relax and take it slow was I really able to enjoy the ride. When I was going slow, I was able to take the time to enjoy the beauty God has put in this world. Only when I took time to notice this beauty, did I feel Him, showing me that He is ALWAYS there, I just have to step away from everything and make time for Him.2. When I was on that trail, I was texting no one. I was not on Facebook. I had no Internet access. All I had was a beautiful day, a bicycle, and some uplifting Christian music. That’s when I felt God. To be close to God, to really feel Him, you have to put your phone down, step away from your computer, turn off the TV, and find somewhere that you can enjoy the beauty God has put in this world. I felt closer to God alone on that trail than I have in a long time, and that’s because I had no distractions. I love God very much. Even after rebelling against Him as I did, even after doing the awful things I’ve done, even after ignoring Him as I did, He still does this for me. He is indeed merciful and loving. I’m very thankful for my zillionth 2nd chance. I encourage you guys to go out and meet God today. Put your phone away, turn off your TV and computer, and just step outside your house into God’s beauty. It will overwhelm you. “Today is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.”

Valuing The Human

An innocent little six year old was mercilessly gunned down by someone in a fit of road rage recently.

I wondered how was this possible?

The Lord led me to the story of Cain and Abel in the book of Genesis.

Cain and Abel were two brothers, the children of Eve, “the mother of all the living.”

When her first son was born, Eve called him “Cain,” a name related to a word for “lament” or “wail.”…

Nevertheless, Said Jesus

Prayer Poem~Nevertheless, Said Jesus

Encouraging Scriptures

Jesus Christ said, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming…

where there is pain in the world, may we be generous with our actions with each other listenlearn

where there is pain in the world,
may we be generous
with our actions
with each other
listen
learn
unlearn
help
stand for truth
dismantle systems
that continue to cause harm
let not ourselves go bitter,
instead do better
through love, understanding
faith and trust
that we’ve got each other
we leave this world with
nothing but our good deeds

as caroline myss would say, sitting on our meditation cushions is not enough. we must be willing to be a fiercely loving force in this world, acting our good deeds.

Devotion Candles

a big part of my craft is my altar which is dedicated to the sun, moon, & the 4 elements.

2 things on my altar are candles for the sun & moon. this past week i charged the two candles with different intentions that remind me of the sun & moon, respectively.

now without further a do, here’s the “recipe” for both candles:

Protection Sun Candle

Ingredients:

  • gold candle
  • black candle
  • spiritual protection water (includes basil)
  • lavender essential oil (for my anxiety)
  • juniper
  • something to carve with

Directions:

take your gold candle & the protection water & lavender oil. rub both of these on your candle thinking & having the intention of “every time this candle burns, i am protected by the suns light & energy”

now take your juniper & either put it on the candle or around the candle wherever you choose to put it.

carve protection & anxiety relieving sigils, words, runes, &/or etc.

light your black candle & drip it around/on your gold candle.

speak/think about your intention through the making of this candle.

Self Love & Healing Moon Candle

Ingredients:

  • blue salt
  • pink candle
  • white candle
  • tea tree oil
  • rose water
  • something to carve with

Directions:

take your white candle & the tea tree oil & rose water. rub these on the white candle while thinking of your intention, “while this candle is lit i am healing & loving myself.”

now take your blue salt & put it on/around your candle.

& carve your healing & self love sigils, words, &/or runes.

light your pink candle & drip it around/on the white candle.

speak/think about your intention throughout the making of this candle.
