I’m sure there’s a large section of our society which would rather I didn’t feel this way, but:
I am rather proud when my hands look like this. Dirty, bruised, scratched, calloused and blunt-nailed. Working hands, skilled hands, tough hands. I love working with these hands, rather than a computer. Both kinds of work can be exhausting, but I find the physical kind so satisfying. Now, if only they paid the same….
