claudiarya:

I’ve written this Wesper fanfic. in which our two clowns are trying to navigate around their feelings and an awkward marriage proposal.

If you feel like it come check it out! It’s a 3 chaptered story, and chapter 1 is out now.

Red it here! Paper Rings

From the Story:

“I messed up,” he found himself dumbly repeating, and as if weighed down by this realization, he plopped unceremoniously in the chair on the opposite side of Kaz’s desk. His shoulders hunched in defection. “And what do you want me to do about that?” Kaz rasped, throwing him a quick glance before returning his attention on the damn ledger he was consulting. Yeah, Wylan should have thought about this through.“

Kaz Brekker from the Shadow and Bone series by @lbardugo

I drew this as a birthday gift for a friend and I’m pretty proud of the end result!

“No mourners,”Jesper said as he tossed his rifle to Rotty.
“No funerals,”the rest of the Dregs murmured in reply. Among them, it passed for “good luck.”

Leigh Bardugo,Six of Crows

Currently reading this book and it’s incredibly great! I am enjoying every page and I wonder how The Dregs will pull off this dangerous heist.

“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”

Wylan: It’s a package from my dad.

Jesper: It’s heavy, what is it?

Wylan: Must be his disappointment in me.

Guys it’s my BIRTHDAY And that they dropped this still on my birthday is just so special to me idk

This is completely factually accurate I assure you…

The Crows Favourite Musicals:

I don’t know why I’m doing this but it absolutely makes sense.

Nina: Something like Chicago or Heathers. Shows that make you feel like a bad b*tch who’s ready to murder.

Matthias: His favourite show is definitely Frozen but he would never admit it.

Inej: Okay so Inej would go for a really fun show on the surface that has really sinister undertones. Like Into the Woods! Also she sings the Sound of Music as she’s Wraithing because it reminds her of her parents.

Kaz: I don’t think Kaz is a musicals fan but I bet he’d secretly quite like Sweeney Todd. He’s also a secret romantic who likes death so West Side Story would be his fav.

Wylan: 100% Wylans favourite hobby is belting and crying to sad musical songs, no one can tell me otherwise. Les Mis and Waitress and Miss Saigon. And I bet he sounds good as well.

Jesper: He gives me major Beetlejuice vibes. Even his fashion sense is represented in this show. ‘The whole being dead thing’ is probably his favourite. And Avenue Q is another one he loves.

Just thought I’d make a quick little appreciation post for:

“I need to see Jakob Hertzoon.“

"Who?”

Kaz felt like he was about to climb out of his skin. He pointed through the window. “Jakob fucking Hertzoon. I want to talk to him.”

Because that for me was the most cathartic thing I’ve ever read ever. I could hear the frustration in my head. It’s also amplified by the fact it’s the only time (I think. Correct me if I’m wrong) that the F word is said in the books. And any swearing at all really. It’s beautiful. 10/10. Like the reading equivalent of a chesty scream or a sigh of relief.

Six of Crows, told through Horrible Histories:

No one asked for this but Horrible Histories is elite. You’re welcome.

Kaz: I wouldn’t let an idiot join the dregs, ever.

Everyone who’s part of the dregs: What about me?

Nina Zenik Aesthetic

Nina Zenik is a Corporalnik Grisha soldier from Ravka who joined the Dregs, and one of the protagonists of the Six of Crows duology. She worked at the House of the White Rose and used her Heartrender powers in her services there until Kaz Brekker recruited her for his crew to break into the Ice Court. She is the only known Corpsewitch.

Wylan Van Eck Aesthetic

Wylan Van Eck is the son of Jan Van Eck and is one of the protagonists of the Six of Crows duology. He joins the team rescuing Bo Yul-Bayur from the Ice Court because of his knowledge of demolitions and his use as a hostage in negotiating the reward.

@sixofcrowsnetheist | fairytales ➸ the monster under the bed

“that’s good to know, hanna.”

her mouth opened into a little O. “how do you know my name?”

“i know all children’s names.”

“you do?”

“oh, yes. albert who lives next door and gertrude on ammberstraat. i live under their beds and in the backs of their closets.

“i knew it,” the girl breathed, fear and triumph in her voice. “mama said there was nothing there, but i knew it.” she cocked her head to one side. “you don’t look like a monster.”

“i’ll tell you a secret, hanna. the really bad monsters never look like monsters.”

It’s DOOOOONE!

It’s finally finished! Oh my gosh, what a journey this has been! I started concept on this last July (2020) and have been working in chunks via Instagram Lives to complete this sequel papercraft of the Six of Crows for over a year!

I’m so excited to present Hook And Crook, inspired by a specific scene that happens in Crooked Kingdom. I’ve been stating this over and over again during the lives, but there were specific mirrors happening here between the two papercrafts that wholly define the dynamics of the characters and the two books.

We talked about how the symbols in the facade of the Slat in Featherdark (Six of Crows papercraft) represented the strengths of each character (cane, knife, guns, bombs etc). The crow is standing proud and upright, above the city, to symbolize the upper-hand that the dregs had during SOC.

Now, the tables have turned in Hook And Crook. The symbols on the facade of the hotel show the character’s weaknesses (gloves, a red bird, gambling wheel, Dunyasha’s stars, paintbrush & laurels etc). The crow is defensively crouching with its hackles raised, the city above and oppressing - all representing the dregs having to turn and fight under dire circumstances.

And bonus! When you put the two side-by-side, a little nod to a certain Ravkan symbol takes form!

What a stupidly fun project this was! I’m so happy it’s finally finished and I thank you all for those who joined me in the lives to watch the process!

(so sorry for the low quality on this; Featherdark is my most pilfered artwork for unsanctioned merch )
