Tectonic Platelet – Tiny elemental, chaotic neutral
Known as Project Living Assault Vanguard Armor, or LAVA for short, this tiny elemental is another invention by the Institute of Microzoological Alchemy. Legend has it that only the highest ranking members of the institute’s military order received a tectonic platelet as an award for their services. While this gesture was considered a great achievement already, the true power of this elemental lies in its ability to evolve into an astonishingly magical armor. Whether this effect is triggered by exposing the tectonic platelet to a certain magical substance or some other kind of energy remains one of the many unresolved mysteries surrounding the institute.

Mininimbus – Small elemental, neutral
Like dust in the wind, this little elemental drifts wherever the current takes it. Although not dangerous or aggressive per se, caution is still advised: A mininimbus is highly charged and can potentially cause severe damage – especially when moved by strong winds. Rumor has it that this peculiar trait led to the invention of a wonderous device, enabling its wielder to turn the mininimbus into a staticky projectile and yeet it at unlucky enemies.

Prancing Patty Crab – Tiny fey, neutral
Despite its fey origin, the prancing patty crab is often mistaken for a common crustacean and widely appreciated as savory delicacy. One of the main reasons for this misconception might be its exceptional way of communicating. Instead of speaking, the prancing patty crab draws upon a vast repertoire of complex dancing routines. Looking like display behaviour to fend of predators to the untrained eye, only highly attentive experts are able to read the subtle messages conveyed through the feisty movements of this peculiar fey.

Vinefang Faerie – Tiny fey, neutral evil
Known as an eccentric collector of rare plants, the vinefang faerie is typically encountered in luxuriously equipped glasshouses or well maintained groves. As friendly and charming this curious fey may seem, there is no denying that it is still surrounded by an aura of wickedness. This is not surprising considering the large numbers of carnivorous plants the vinefang faerie lovingly cares for. After all, they need to be fed regularly…

Findal – Tiny fey, unaligned
Possessing features of an animal and a plant alike, the findal is in fact a thoroughly curious critter. As tiny and harmless as it may seem, its leaflike tail is coated with a highly poisonous substance. The most peculiar trait, however, is the findal’s ability to make a creature literally shine in accordance to its life force. Legend has it that some wood-dwelling elves found ways to channel this magical energy either by taming or capturing this quirky, froglike fey.

Filigreetle – Tiny fey, unaligned
Beautiful on the outside, tainted by dark magic on the inside. While it isn’t evil per se, the filigreetle is still driven by an insatiable hunger for flesh and able to release highly destructive pheromones. Despite this hazardous trait, this peculiar carrion beetle is sometimes used as fake currency due to its deceptive resemblance to a golden, beetle-shaped trinket – if it holds still long enough for the transaction to be finished…

Rot Root – Tiny plant, unaligned
Legend has it that this remarkable plant is in fact the result of a malicious experiment. Since damaging the rot root causes it to quickly sprout shoots, the plant eventually overgrew vast parts of the laboratory, callously devouring its unfortunate creators in the process. Even though the rot root can easily turn into a plague, it is still highly sought after by fanciers of extraordinary plants
and owners of magnificent glasshouses.

Dream Genie – Small elemental, chaotic neutral
Adventurers in search of soothsaying often seek out enigmatic dream genies. These bulbous elementals are supposedly masters of divination; in truth, their innate fortune telling abilities are limited at best. Most dream genies are far more interested in what may come to pass than what will. They’re intensely curious and often behave in manners many would consider bizarre. Are they performing some sort of ritual? Attempting to peer into the beyond? Perhaps busy manipulating some poor soul’s nightmares? More likely, when a traveler espies a dream genie engaging in some inexplicable undertaking, there may simply be no reason for their idiosyncrasies. Dream genies tend to get lost in their own thoughts, oblivious to the equally strange reality in front of them.

Wild Genie – Medium elemental, neutral good
If you’ve ever stumbled on a garden in the middle of a desert, a massive sequoia in a prairie, or a luscious fern on a snow capped mountain, you may have accidentally discovered the work of a wild genie. These gregarious elementals are master cultivators, able to summon any manner of plant life out of thin air. Particularly extroverted wild genies may choose to act as generous benefactors to mortal friends in need of a green thumb. Though other genies may look down on those fraternizing with non-magical riffraff, wild genies are free thinkers, unbounded by the conventions of their peers.

Spark Genie – Tiny elemental, chaotic neutral
Those who befriend these smallest of elementals initially feel as though they’ve hit the jackpot. Spark genies dazzle mortals with their marvelous displays of both artistic prowess and magical electromagnetism. Virtuosic musicians and endlessly useful multitools all in one. What’s not to love? Of course, spark genies are as prone to bursts of inspiration as they are to rapid mood swings. One moment they’ll be serenading you while starting a campfire, and the next they’ll be shocking you with blasts of electricity. A spark genie can never be truly tamed – that would be like catching lightning in a bottle.

Hydroplankton – Small swarm of Tiny elementals, neutral
Usually taken from darkest depths of the elemental plane of water, these tiny critters rarely find their way into the material ocean on their own. Nevertheless, hydroplankton is highly sought after by spellcasters of any kind. Appreciated for its soothing effects, the tricky part is to convince these peculiar creatures to release their primordial essence. Keeping a swarm of hydroplankton, however, bears a risk as well since they can quickly alter said essence to inflict a considerable amount of acid damage.

Mother’s Hand – Medium undead, lawful evil
For a long time the lifeless “Mother” was widely believed to be nothing more than a figment of the skely-tons twisted imagination – an archaic idol carved from stone and erected eons ago by a forgotten civilization. The mother’s hand emerges from the depths of the earth to guide the heedless hordes of skely-tons on their unstoppable march through the underground. Crushing this undead creation won’t yield lasting results, as it seems to be conjured over and over again. The reason for this never-ending circle of death and decay, however, is still to be unveiled…
