I just bought these vintage copies of Anchor books with covers illustrated by Edward Gorey.
They. Are. Gorgeous.

Celebrated by doing more or less the same stuff I do every week:
- slept in on a Sunday thanks to blackout curtains

- wore last night’s Killstar t-shirt until I bathed behind a Gashycrumb Tinies shower curtain
- queued a list of male goth characters (check out the female one)
- listened to dark wave
- read a murder mystery (A Room Full of Bones)
- currently watching classic horror (The Pit and the Pendulum) with fam
The Shuar people live in the rainforests and savanna of Ecuador and Peru. One of their religious practices was to preserve the severed heads of their enemies in order to prevent hauntings and control agricultural magic. Shortly after European colonists arrived in the 16th century, Shuar head-harvesting increased to meet Europeans’ demand for grotesque souvenirs.
