Femslash February 2022, day 17: Feathers

just thought i’d clear the air on that

Brief Summary: Monika combs your hair after school.

Word Count: 375

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!! (3 spots left)

You lay in your chair, tail loosely flopping out to the side as Monika brushes your hair. It always felt so good when she did that, the comb working out all of the knots you’d accumulated by swimming. When you release a happy little sigh, Monika smiles at you in the mirror.

“Does that feel good?” she bubbles, and you nod eagerly.

“So good.” You couldn’t remember the last time you’d been so relaxed.

Monika pulls the comb back, stroking your hair lovingly. “It’s hard work, everything you’re doing. You have all of your clubs, and my literature club. You must be so busy.”

“So busy,” you mumble, distracted from her words by the peace you were feeling. “If you could just get right there,” you point to a spot on your scalp, “ahh, perfect.”

“And balancing school on top of all that.” Monika gives your head a special scratch. “You’re very talented.”

“Not as much as you,” you mumble. “You have to be the leader of the club… that’s a lot of work.”

“Oh no.” Monika says, laying the comb down. “It’s work that I enjoy, so it’s no trouble.” When you reach out for her to continue combing, she shakes her finger with a smile. “Uh uh. You have fish ball practice, remember?”

“Oh carp!” That wakes you right up. “Monika, why didn’t you tell me? I’m going to be late!”

“Well,” Monika winks at you. “Maybe I wanted the five extra minutes. Is that such a crime?”

You swim around your room, picking up supplies. There’s your mitt… your ball… your stick… and wrist and knee guards, of course. You swim over to give Monika a quick kiss on the cheek. “I’ll see you after practice. I love you!” You drop the word so casually, as if it’s nothing now.

“I love you too,” Monika says, and you can tell how much it still means to her. When you swim out the door, she’s floating in the middle of your room, looking at peace as if she’d been the one to have her hair combed. You don’t know what she does when you’re away, but she’s always waiting for you when you get back. That’s just the kind of girlfriend she is.

i realized that this prompt is roses

and the last time i wrote them the prompt was lilies

so i have reimagined my last story with the help of my sister’s characterizations

and i think its WAY better

also think that the change in flowers is really fitting

Brief Summary: Mikura picks Juraku a rose with a single thorn.

Word Count: 391

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!! (3 spots left)

Juraku was dangerous, like a rose with thorns. Mikura liked that side of her. The part that was sly, and secretly cruel. Any breaks in her cool and collected facade.

On her way to school that morning, she’d plucked a rose out of someone’s private garden. It was a pretty little thing, nice and red and full. But on the stem was a single thorn. Mikura held onto it, treating it gently, until she arrived and sat on the steps of Hyakkaou Private Academy, waiting for Juraku. When she got to school early, she would sit and wait. People treated her like part of the scenery, their eyes glazing right over her. She would sit with her feet tucked under her, collar securely on, waiting for her owner.

Eventually she saw Juraku’s white hair appearing, Mikura straightened up, holding the rose on her lap. Juraku stopped in front of her, leaning down to clip her leash on. When the girl’s face was on the same level as hers she could see Juraku’s eyes dart downwards towards the rose.

“What’s this?” Juraku said softly, her face inches from Mikura’s.

Mikura held the rose up to her in response. Juraku leaned back and took it between her fingers. She expressed no discomfort, but they both saw a tiny pinprick of blood emerge on her hand. She’d been pricked by the thorn. Juraku stood up fully now, tossing the rose to the side. The blood on her hand was stark red against her pale skin. “Come on now,” she played with Mikura’s leash, guiding her to stand up and follow. “Time to get going.”

Only someone well versed in Juraku’s movements would be able to see the slight tensing in her face, or the way that her fingers gripped the leash tightly. It was an unspoken sign between the two of them. You’re in trouble now. As Mikura followed Juraku into the building, she felt excitement building in her. She would just have to wait until the two were alone. That was the only time she saw Juraku be herself. Spiky and thorny and raw. Just for a moment. But enough of those small moments made up the relationship between the two of them, rich and deep and more than most people could comprehend. Mikura couldn’t wait to see that side come out again.

ya’ll everytime i write these two its just… SHEEESH

like idk. something about them.

Brief Summary: Sayori and Monika go thrift store shopping.

Word Count:391

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!! (3 spots left)

“I like this,” Sayori expressed, holding up a tiny porcelain pony with a pink and purple mane. When she noticed Monika’s curled lip, she put it carefully back down.

“Stay focused, Sayori. Stay sharp. Remember what we’re looking for?” Monika coaxed. Sometimes, being with Sayori felt like being with a child.

“A picture frame,” Sayori said quietly, as if she didn’t fully know.

“A picture frame for…?”

“Our photo. Your photo.” When Monika looked over at the other girl, she could see that she was blushing. It was so easy to get her flustered.

“That’s right, sweetie.” Monika grabbed Sayori by the waist, making her squeak. “Now be a good girl and focus.”

“Yes, Monika.” When she was released, Sayori scampered to the task like a little puppy. All that Monika had to do was trail behind her and watch as she picked up frame after frame. When she hovered over other trinkets, Monika would make a little cough, and that would set her right.

After a few minutes, she approached with a silver frame in her hands. “What about this one?” she asked cautiously, holding out the frame. It had a sweet design with cut out hearts. It would be perfect. But Monika could never let her have it easy.

“Mmm,” she tisked, pushing it away. “Maybe another one?”

“Oh. Okay.” Sayori turned around and put the frame down, resuming her task but seeming a bit deflated. It was easy to make her discouraged. All you had to do was deny her the simple pleasures in life.

After letting Sayori rummage around for a moment more, Monika grabbed the first frame off the shelf that she saw. “We’ll use this one,” she stated, and Sayori startled, turning around.

“That’s really nice. But the… umm…” Sayori trailed off, and Monika grabbed her wrist pulling her close. She knew that had to hurt.

“What is it?” Monika said, looking the other girl up and down.

“Oh no.” Sayori looked away, clearly flustered. “It’s nothing.”

“Good. It’s settled then.” Monika released her and started heading to the front, letting Sayori fumble along behind her. She knew what the problem was. The frame was too small for the photo. But Sayori would work it out. Maybe cut herself out of the photo, and leave the focus on Monika. That was just what she deserved

Brief Summary: Kirari has just completed work on the Tower of Doors, but her mind is on someone else.

Word Count: 302

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!! (3 spots left)

The sky truly was beautiful tonight, Kirari thought, staring out through an opening in the Tower of Doors. It had just been completed and she was inspecting it, making sure that everything worked as planned. It all needed to be perfect for her big game. But if the sky was so perfect, and she had such carefully orchestrated plans, why couldn’t she stop thinking about her

She had such plans for Sayaka and Yumeko. She’d orchestrated this game perfectly. But someone else has been tickling her mind, and that person was Saotome Mary.

Something was up with that girl. She’d been moving up the ranks. Kirari knew it was because of Ririka. There was something special in Mary, and her sister saw it too. She couldn’t deny that seeing them attached at the hip inflamed something inside of her. It was too soon to call it jealousy… but the feeling like she was missing out on something. This closeness with someone who was so captivating. Closeness that her sister didn’t deserve.

Of course, Sayaka and Yumeko were captivating too, each in their own way. At the end of the game, one of them could lose everything. But that thought didn’t enthrall Kirari as much as she’d thought it would. She already knew, in a way, what made them tick. What made them special. But Mary was a simple girl. A girl who should have been poor, who shouldn’t have been noticed. She’d even been a housepet, and not of her own volition. Yet here she was, poised to take the student council down.

It was useless to think too much about Mary. What could she be hoping to gain, really? There was no clarity to be found in it. Kirari looked up to the sky again. The constellations up there were beautiful.

Brief Summary: Luz gets lost in the forearm forest.

Word Count: 532

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!! (3 spots left)

“Amity? …Amity?” Luz called, voice quivering. Her light spell provided a weak defense against the darkness of the Forearm Forest. Amity had told her exactly where they were meeting that day, for some special secret event that Luz didn’t know about, but now she’d gotten totally lost. She must have taken a wrong turn somewhere, because it was dark and creepy and… Ah! Was that something running over her foot??

“A-amity?” Luz called again. “You can tell me where you are now… anytime…” Oh why couldn’t they do this special secret event at school? That was one of the best places to be, and full of all sorts of fun and surprising things. Or they could do secret things at the Owl House! Luz did that all the time. Like the time she surprised Amity with pudding! Boy that had been a culture shock.

A loud crack erupted through the air, and Luz shrieked again. When she stopped to look down though, it was just a twig that she’d stepped on. Wiping her brow with a forearm, Luz was totally caught off guard when something reached out to her from behind.

“GAH!” she yelled, curling up instinctively. “Don’t eat me! Eda says I would be boney!”

“Luz,” a voice sounded, and the girl perked up immediately. She knew just who that was!

“Amity?” she asked, turning around. There she was! That beautiful purple haired weirdo. Luz couldn’t control herself and wrapped her in a huge bearhug.

Amity laughed, a cute light little thing. In the dim light of the spell, Luz could tell that she was definitely blushing. “What are you doing here? I told you to come to Mole Meadow.”

“Oh. I… got lost.” Luz kicked her feet. “How’d you find me?”

“You were shouting up a storm,” Amity said, rolling her eyes. “I don’t know how I could have not found you. Now come on.” Taking Luz by the hand, an action that was still strange and exciting to both of them, Amity led them back onto a more clearly defined path.

“So, what’s the special surprise?” Luz bounced a little as she walked. Now that she felt safe again, she was excited to see what Amity had cooked up.

“You’ll see when we get there,” Amity responded, giving her a little cuff to the shoulder. They took a right, then a left, and then they were in a beautiful (well, as beautiful as the Boiling Isles could get) little meadow. On the ground was a picnic blanket, covered in plates and bowls.

“A picnic!” Luz exclaimed, darting over and examining the food. She picked up a bowl. “And you even brought pudding!”

“Yeah,” Amity chuckled. “I thought you might like it. Gus said it’s one of those human things.”

“It’s perfect!” Luz beamed up at her girlfriend (gosh, it was strange to even think the word). “Come on, Amity, come sit with me.” She patted the ground next to her, and the other girl stepped over.

“Okay. But I’m not having any pudding.” The two laughed, then ate their fill. As the sun set on the Boiling Isles, Luz couldn’t think of anyone she’d rather spend the day with.

Keeping up with these longer fics!!

go me!

Brief Summary: Kitty and Cerise get caught in the rain.

Word Count: 349

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!!

“Reowr! Cerise! The umbrella, the umbrella! Hurry up!!” Kitty Cheshire was dancing from foot to foot. They’d barely stepped outside of the Wonderland Haberdashery & Tea Shoppe, but it was raining cats and dogs out there. Thankfully, Cerise had thought to bring an umbrella when she saw it clouding up. She knew how Kitty hated the rain.

“I’m trying,” Cerise expressed with some frustration. The umbrella was fighting with her for some reason, completely refusing to open. “Just have to-” she started, giving it a big tug. Then, with a pop, the umbrella’s mechanical parts dropped to the ground and began bouncing away on the sidewalk. All she was left with was a useless bit of material. The umbrella flopped limply in her hands.

“No, no, no!” Kitty hopped back and forth, staying under the awning as much as possible. “What do we do now? You know I have class in a few minutes, reowr!”

Cerise puzzled over their options. Then, she took a step away from Kitty, into the pouring rain. “We do… this!” she exclaimed, laughing and shaking like a dog.

“Oh no. Not doing that, nope.” Kitty glanced back towards the door of the shop. “I’m staying right here, where it’s warm and dr-YEOWR!!!” A started screech erupted from her as Cerise grabbed her hands and pulled her out onto the sidewalk. Kitty looked like,,, well, a wet cat. Her hackles were raised, and she had daggers in her eyes.

“See?” Cerise began, a bit nervously. “It’s not that bad… out here… right?” She trailed off, smiling at Kitty. She was sure she was in for a clawing after this.

Kitty shook the water off of her, then looked up to the sky. Then, she got a devious smile on her face. “Race you back to Ever After High!” she called, ripping her hands out of Cerise’s and taking off down the sidewalk, disappearing and reappearing as she ran until she was so far ahead that there was no way that Cerise could catch her. The other girl shook her head and smiled. She’d settle for a nice walk instead.

Brief Summary: Ramona makes a fairy confession to Faybelle.

Word Count: 308

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!!

“You wanna know something?”

Faybelle groaned. “From you, Ramona, I’m not so sure I do.” Every time Ramona wanted to tell her something, it was something she didn’t want to know. Like that time she attacked a feral cat in the Village of Book End. Ramona had claimed it was self defense.

Ramona rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Well,” she began, starting into it anyway, “when I was younger, I thought that fairies were all really teeny tiny.”

Faybelle blinked at her. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”

“No, no. It’s just, until I came to Ever After High and met you. I thought fairies were all really small. Like Thumbelina or Tinkerbell.”

“Are you going to tell me you’d like me more if I was petite?” Faybelle smirked. When Ramona’s hand darted over to wrap around her shoulders, she batted it away and stood up, keeping out of reach. “Anyway, you know that’s kid’s stories, right? All fairies are normal sized.”

“Nope.” Ramona shook her head, standing up and clawing out for Faybelle’s hand. “One time they brought a fairy to my class in Nursery Rhyme school and she was tiny.”

Faybelle scoffed, but let Ramona grab her hand anyway. She leaned in close to her ear, whispering. “I’ll let you in on a little secret,” she said seductively. “Most fairies… have shrinking magic.”

Ramona gasped. “Shrinking magi-?!” she blurted out, before Faybelle clapped a hand over her mouth.

“Secret. Remember? This is fairy stuff.”

Ramona nodded, taking Faybelle’s hand away and holding it in her own. “But I wasn’t wrong,” she mused, leaning in close to Faybelle’s mouth.

Faybelle leaned back. “Well, you weren’t right either,” she said, chuckling, before letting Ramona lean in and kiss her. Maybe Ramona could be a few eggs short of a basket sometimes. But she loved her anyway.

I am keeping UP with these longer stories

who knows how long it will last though

anyways. i love these two!! they are some of my very favorites.

Brief Summary: Ramona takes Justine on an unexpected vacation to a familiar place.

Word Count:396

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!!

“Three… two… one… you can open your eyes!” Ramona stepped back from Justine, looking as excited as a young pup. In front of the girl was the Red Shoes Dance Club, music blaring from the inside. It was a place that Justine was very, very familiar with.

“Oh. This is great!” Justine said, a bit through her teeth. When Ramona had suggested the two go on a little vacation date together, she hadn’t imagined that this would be the destination. Her first clue should have been that they didn’t even get into a carriage.

“You’re disappointed.” If she had a tail, Ramona’s would have been downturned.

“No, no,” Justine hurriedly reassured her. “It’s just that I packed for a few days, not for… a night on the town.”

“Well, come in first. You’ll want to see this.” Ramona grabbed Justine’s hand and dragged her into the dance studio. The club was still bustling at this hour, but the studio was quiet. The inside was warm and dark.

“Are you sure we’re allowed to be in here?” Justine whispered, feeling a bit apprehensive. “Madame said we’re only allowed to practice while the studio is open.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Ramona assured her with her characteristic wolfish charm, leading Justine down into the dressing area. “And… now we’re here!”

Flipping on the lights revealed a bundle of pillows, blankets, snacks, and a projector playing old reruns of fairy tale cartoons. It was not at all what Justine had been expecting. “You did this for me?” she asked, stepping into the room and sinking her feet into a cushion.

Ramona, still looking a bit nervous, nodded. “I got permission from the Madames. We’re allowed to stay here over the weekend. Just you and me.”

Justine turned around and smiled at Ramona, leaning over and giving her a big bear (or rather, wolf) hug. “I love it,” she expressed. “Although I did pack for the beach.”

“The beach? Whatever gave you that idea?” From Ramona’s cheeky smirk, Justine knew that the open magazines with pictures of the ocean had been on purpose.

“Oh, you’re a bad bad wolf!” Justine exclaimed, batting Ramona on the shoulder.

“Well, if it means that I get to see you in a bikini…” Ramona chuckled, and Justine rolled her eyes. Still, she couldn’t deny that if Ramona was a wolf, she was a sweet one.
