“You wanna know something?”

Faybelle groaned. “From you, Ramona, I’m not so sure I do.” Every time Ramona wanted to tell her something, it was something she didn’t want to know. Like that time she attacked a feral cat in the Village of Book End. Ramona had claimed it was self defense.

Ramona rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Well,” she began, starting into it anyway, “when I was younger, I thought that fairies were all really teeny tiny.”

Faybelle blinked at her. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”

“No, no. It’s just, until I came to Ever After High and met you. I thought fairies were all really small. Like Thumbelina or Tinkerbell.”

“Are you going to tell me you’d like me more if I was petite?” Faybelle smirked. When Ramona’s hand darted over to wrap around her shoulders, she batted it away and stood up, keeping out of reach. “Anyway, you know that’s kid’s stories, right? All fairies are normal sized.”

“Nope.” Ramona shook her head, standing up and clawing out for Faybelle’s hand. “One time they brought a fairy to my class in Nursery Rhyme school and she was tiny.”

Faybelle scoffed, but let Ramona grab her hand anyway. She leaned in close to her ear, whispering. “I’ll let you in on a little secret,” she said seductively. “Most fairies… have shrinking magic.”

Ramona gasped. “Shrinking magi-?!” she blurted out, before Faybelle clapped a hand over her mouth.

“Secret. Remember? This is fairy stuff.”

Ramona nodded, taking Faybelle’s hand away and holding it in her own. “But I wasn’t wrong,” she mused, leaning in close to Faybelle’s mouth.

Faybelle leaned back. “Well, you weren’t right either,” she said, chuckling, before letting Ramona lean in and kiss her. Maybe Ramona could be a few eggs short of a basket sometimes. But she loved her anyway.

slipping back into a more narrative piece

maybe thats the wrong word

basically a piece with no dialogue hahaha

Brief Summary: Briar and Faybelle’s love is haunted by thorns.

Word Count: 207

I’m still accepting ships for femslash feb!!! Send me your fave fem pairs and I’ll write you a fic sometime this month!!

Briar and Faybelle’s love was wrapped up in thorns. Roses… the sharp point of a spindle… it seemed like no matter how beautiful something appeared, it was destined to hurt them.

Briar’s first gift to Faybelle had been a rose, plucked from the gardens at Ever After High on one of their secret dates. When Faybelle had taken it from Briar’s hand, a thorn had plucked her in the finger and made her bleed. One of the first, more ironic signs that their love was fated to end badly.

The truth was that no matter what she did, Faybelle couldn’t keep herself from hurting Briar. Her loud mouth, her jeers when they were in public. Briar always took it like a champ, but it was like Faybelle couldn’t keep herself from self-sabotaging their relationship. Maybe because she didn’t think she deserved it. Maybe because she didn’t even understand it.

The rose, which lasted for a few months, had wilted now. No amount of fairy magic could keep it alive forever. Still, Faybelle couldn’t bring herself to throw it away. She grabbed it from the vase, aiming right for the spot that she knew would make her bleed. Maybe pricking her own finger was just what she deserved.

Okay ever after high community

I want a fan-fiction- I am willing to write it if this doesn’t exist.

But a fan-fiction where it’s like once upon a time in the enchanted forest section and like similar vibes of into the woods where their stories Inter-lap. It wouldn’t be modernized fairytale. It would be full fairytale like corset and forests and being too poor and having to go to market.

Does this exist? Or should I open my laptop and start writing a first draft??

so Faybelle definitely has mommy issues right

In fairy’s got talent she claims to have a very healthy relationship with her mom and thats how it seems on the surface level, but then again you take into account that like many other villain parents, she purposely raised Faybelle to be bad, which likely meant a lot of toxic lessons were engraved into her psyche, which obviously cant be good. Theres also the mention in her diary that her mom threatened to take her out of cheerhexing if it got in the way of her destiny, and that’s obviously not healthy. So if anything it seems to be one of those situations where the child doesn’t realize that their parent is toxic/abusive so they just suck it up and go on thinking that that sort of parenting is normal.

that’s really interesting! wish i could read it myself.

i feel like there’s definitely a vibe with the way she chastises Raven for how lucky she should feel to have such a cool mom, and just her general adoration for the Queen going way beyond “I just think she’s neat”. her crying when she revealed she only cared about her actual daughter really sets off my alarm bells.

then there’s her general disdain for being left behind. always “inviting herself” to things, wanting to go to the Blue Moon Forest Fest despite it being explicitly thrown by the Fairy Queen (she seems to dislike good fairies, and from the wiki summary i read this seems to come up in that book too? not sure.). ofc that could just be her wanting to barge in on every exclusive event, no matter if it’s her scene - but even that speaks volumes for her psychology. does she just have a need to be the center of attention? does she see esteem as being equal to value, and she wants to feel valued? could be a little bit of both.

i assumed that she might suffer from abandonment/lack of attention issues in her formative years, specifically from her mother. so i def get your reading. she could’ve claimed to have had a healthy relationship with her mom because she WANTS to believe she does, even though deep down she really doesn’t. but i don’t know the context of the quote so i can’t say for certain!

tysm for sharing that though ahaha, projecting onto analyzing my blorbos is what i live for,,,

Its actually a bit complicated. Like I said, villains tend to hammer down toxic lessons onto their children so whatever attention she might’ve given her could’ve been lacking in emotional support. Her mom directly says in the book that she’d drop everything should Faybelle need her. So atleast we know she cares about her. But even so, we get a few flashbacks to Faybelle’s childhood and it seems like the ones who were mostly in charge of taking care of Faybelle were her mother’s servants over anyone. Theres also this paragraph from a flashback in her childhood:

Idk bout you but to me this almost outright tells me that in general, Faybelle rarely even gets to hang out with her mother at all, atleast from back when she was a kid. So even if the neglect may not be intended, it certainly hints at it being there.

Then theres her disdain towards being excluded. Now on the surface level, you could just look at her story and be like “oh yeah, that makes total sense”. But fairy’s got talent suggests that not being invited and being excluded from events is more like a family curse that has ran through the Thorn family for generations, meaning that this whole “not getting invited and lashing out over it” situation with the Dark Fairy is a repetitive thing and not not just a one time thing with Sleeping Beauty.

I mean just from that, you can tell that in classic “villain of the sleeping beauty story” fashion, the dark fairy doesn’t take very well to being excluded. The text suggests that she lashes out each time in a similar way to how she does in her story, likely punishing the first person she can think to shift the blame on. But for the most part this is the only thing that ever sets her off. Other than that, her mom seems to be very proper and calm in any other situation. Given this, and how she taught Faybelle to never hide in the shadows, it’s likely Faybelle’s sourness to never getting invited, as well as her habit of casually inviting herself, stems from her mothers behavior at such a situation.

Faybelle probably had a vocaloid phase at some point…..idk why it makes sense to me

Nah cause my ideal bribelle fanfic would basically be the plot of malice but with them as the leads….

Oh yeah btw go read Malice by Heather Walter. Its a sapphic retelling of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the Villains. Screw Prince Charming, the Villain gets with the Princess in this one! Its a duology and the second book just came out a couple of days ago!

I’m convinced that whoever was in charge of the production of ever after high dolls hated Faybelle. My girl had the best outfits, and she got ONE DOLL. I’m not even gonna lie up until a few years ago, I swore they had a made a fairest on ice doll for her, but then turns out that was just the mandala effect of the century!!

Like its one thing to introduce a character and never show them in any outfit aside from the basic look in the show…its a hate crime to give her THESE ICONIC LOOKS, only to not make a doll out of them:

Faybelle and Ramona would be that one duo that would go into a hospital and tell all the covid patients to “stay positive ” and just walk out like “slayyyy”. I’m not taking criticism.
