Sunshine and Moonlight were simple bots in a 80’s mall daycare that Afton stole because he wanted to make sun and moon animatronics as well to catch more kids (Yes i hc that Williams created them as well)
They got abandoned for years and with a bit of remnant got back to life! They play with the kids and act as security bots at night!
I have never played a Five Nights at Freddy’s game in my life, and what little I know about it is from watching lets-plays and Game Theory videos when I was in early high school.
Recently, though, I’ve been watching a few other people play through the new Security Breach game. It looks very cool, and I decided to draw my favourite animatronic (animatronics?). I drew them as animatronics and also designed human forms because I like drawing people.
Moony went through quite the arc in my own personal headcanons. Started off as a sweetheart, became very jaded toward and wary of staff after he was able to recover from Vanny. He’s a playful dork at heart; it’s just difficult for adults to bring out that side of him unless they’re patient & respectful to him. (And perhaps if they humor him in his terrifying games of tag or hide-and-seek.)

My personal interpretation of them is a post-Corruption AU. The guy is an OC of mine, Nate. He loves robots & machines, and loves scary stuff, so I thought it’d be amusing to put him in a position where he’d have Tom-and-Jerry antics with these two.
Sunny is, naturally, a ball of sunshine. He’s also very manic and somewhat neurotic, but well-intentioned. All he wants to do is play all night with the night staff - and gets super clingy because he never wants them to shut down the Daycare again.
My version of Moon is, for the most part, back to the way he was before the events of Security Breach; but he still keeps his eyes red at night and tries to chase security guards away from the Daycare. He dreads another Vanessa/Vanny situation happening ((and still has trauma from it)). But if one can get past his feral, defensive outer shell, they’ll get to know a much softer, highly insightful side to him.
