an unlikely pear
It takes a TON of money to launch a new venture. I had originally wanted to create an entire art exhibition based on these culinary influenced pieces, then use the sales as a fundraiser for @stageculinary. Unfortunately the original gallery situation turned out to be incompetent as most business in the “art world” tends to be, so I’ll take the old faithful route of just relying on myself to get the job done.
Here’s where we’re at… we have had an amazing attorney who Pro Bono set up all of our non profit status for Stage Culinary/DoRadThings. (@doradthingsco). Once this paperwork is finalized and our accounts are set up we can begin creating our events and fundraisers, then partnering with local restaurants and chefs on our student projects. All of it costs significant seed $$$. I will be selling all of the paintings I did for this show independently and putting those proceeds towards the launch of our new non profit DoRadThings/Stage Culinary. By purchasing any of these pieces you will be a founding donor and put on a very select list of partners and VIPs to our next Stage Culinary dinner.
I try to teach kids in a way that shows them how to take their talents and put them to work. Not just for their own wallets, but taking your talents and making them larger than even your own life. My entire career has been built off the mediocre ability to make art. To me I’ve never dreamt of painting the next Mona Lisa, I’ve dreamt of how much impact my paintings can have on the world around me.
This painting is a play on the classic still life style. I tried to incorporate some urban elements, along with classic technique, and a bit of graffuturism. It’s 48x30 on gallery depth canvas (1.5inch deep), painted with oils, acrylic, @montanacans, @sharpie, and charcoal. It’s a pretty big piece, good painting above a couch or in a large kitchen. $1,500.00 with proceeds going toward @stageculinary.
