“If you choose to fail us, I say we will never forgive you.” Climate activist @gretathunberg didn’t hold back as she criticized world leaders at the United Nations Climate Action Summit for their failure to meaningfully address climate change. Once the Russians have flattened and occupied Kiev, Lviv, Kharkiv, etc., as surely they will (for anything less would be a defeat), the question will be asked in the West, “Who lost Ukraine?”—as once the question, “Who lost China?” was asked. My preferred answer would be Greta Thunberg—or perhaps I should say, to be a little fairer, Greta Thunberg and people like her.

The Thunberg episode must have been of great aid and comfort to the man in the Kremlin, for it must have convinced him, as it convinced his apologists in the West, of the almost total decadence and fundamental unseriousness of the West. Here was a spoiled upper-middle class Swedish girl claiming that her childhood had been stolen—by whom and by what, exactly?—and no one in any position of power or responsibility had the guts to tell her to shut up and to stop broadcasting her disgusting self-satisfied and highly privileged self-pity. Instead, she was the object of deference and almost of adulation, as if she were being brave in the way that anti-war demonstrators in Russia have been brave.

Why did no one in any position of power or responsibility take on little Greta and tell her to go away? The answer, probably, is sentimentality: She was young, and everyone knows that adolescence is the springtime of idealism. To destroy the fatuous illusions of the ignorant and inexperienced is cruel; therefore, we must submit meekly to be lectured, or hectored, by them, and to do as they say. The fact that the person in question may have been as manipulated as a cruise missile was not allowed to enter anyone’s mind.

Greta Thunberg, the 17-year-old environment activist, has inspired thousands of people across the world, now, that effort has been offset, as two species have been named after her, and that list could probably increase.

From the forests of Nairobi, Kenia, and inspired by its labour, this tiny beetle has been named Nelloptodes gretae, and belongs to the Ptiliidae family, a highly diverse group of minute beetles, with over 400 species within, but is was stored unnamed in the Natural History Museum of Londo’s collection after it was collected in mid 60’s , until late 2019, when is was formelly described and named by researches at  NHM.

Greta’s own passion has inspired other scientists, who named a microsnail as Craspedotropis gretathunbergae, honouring her. This tiny snail inhabit Borneo tropical rainforests, and is very sensitive to the droughts and temperature extremes that are likely to be more frequent as climate change continues, comment dutchs researchers at Taxon Expeditions, who made the discovery

STRENGTH

“Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.” - Maya Angelou

The Strength card denotes someone who is filled with quiet, graceful strength. This is not the loud and boisterous power that most people think of when they think of the word ‘strong’– but a more subdued calm that comes from being able to tame the beasts in life and find the courage to manage one’s anxiety and fear. This card asks us to fight back with confidence and love, overcome our self-doubt and believe in oneself. The Bible verse “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil” keeps coming to mind when I think of this card; when it shows up in your reading it points to having what you need inside of yourself to face down any evil like that.

::Who’s Who On This Card::

1.Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III from How To Tame Your Dragon - Despite being raised by a bunch of macho Vikings, Hiccup himself was more gentle and instead of fighting and killing a dragon, he befriended one. This card often reminds us that the best way to get rid of an enemy is to make him your friend. If we can befriend our metaphorical dragons, we’re halfway to doing what others might think impossible.

2.Buffy Summers from Buffy - Buffy might have been outwardly superhero strong, but by the series finale of the show, she also radiated inner strength which helped her inspire a new generation of slayers. She had to face many of her fears, doubts and anxieties, but she was able to lead everyone into the final battle with the bravery and confidence it took to truly own her power.

3.The Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz - When the Cowardly Lion first appears in the movie, he is only pretending to be scary but inside is filled with a lot of self-doubt and fears. Throughout the movie though, he learns to believe in himself and his love for his friends builds up that inner strength and frees him from his fear until he is given a medal from the Wizard proving his bravery. Overcoming those obstacles, like he does in the movie, in order to be able to become more confident and inwardly powerful is often denoted by this card.

4.Greta Thunberg - Greta may have started her global warming activism work when she was only a teenager, but her spirit was unshakeable when taking a stand against some of the biggest down-right villains of this world. This mastering of a situation through compassion and confidence in the truth is very much displayed in this card’s meaning.

5.Martin Luther King Jr - Martin Luther King Jr was a symbol during the Civil Rights era of nonviolent protest, the kind that stemmed from love and compassion for his fellow man and showed the strength he had in his unshakeable resolve. He was able to deal calmly with his anger. As he once said, “Only through an inner spiritual transformation do we gain the strength to fight vigorously the evils of the world in a humble and loving spirit.”

6.Moana from Moana - Even though Te Fiti appeared threatening in her lava goddess Te Ka form, Moana walked towards that danger, kindly and patiently restoring the heart of Te Fiti, until Te Kā transformed peacefully into Te Fiti. Through her own resolve and compassion, Moana demonstrated that love can transform what others may see as a terrifying monster into a more gentle soul. That gentle control over the obstacles in one’s path is what the Strength card guides us towards when it appears in a reading.

Has it actually been a month and a half since Ben included Hillary Clinton in one of his cartoons?

I had thought about this recently. Haven’t seen AOC either. Should have mentioned it before this came out so I would have proof.

I guess Greta Thunberg has become his go-to boogeyman.

Ben Garrison just drew a cartoon revolving around spanking a 16-year girl.

I’m not going to post it here, because gross. But it is a telling look into his mindset…

And the award for ‘Willful Obliviousness’ goes to Jeff Stahler.

Jesus fucking Christ, Greta Thunberg outright said to the adults in the audience ‘Shame on you’ for their (I guess I should say ‘our,’ since powerless as I am I am still very much not a teenager) inaction leading to her feeling obligated to step up and handle things herself.

So of course Stahler turns around and pretends the point of her speech was ‘other teenagers need to step up.’

Go fuck yourself, Jeff.

Yaakov Kirschen, the man whose entire career can be summed up as ‘Israel is pure and godly and there

Yaakov Kirschen, the man whose entire career can be summed up as ‘Israel is pure and godly and therefore any action it takes is just and moral,’ is now repeating the anti-Semitic ‘George Soros’ dog whistle.

You know, that oft-repeated conspiracy theory about the Jewish billionaire funding far-left organizations, media outlets and protest movements, built upon the centuries-old stereotype that rich Jews control the wealth of nations and manipulate global events from behind the scenes?

Yaakov Kirschen is so fucking desperate to align himself with the American far-right that he is parroting anti-Semitic smears.

Wow.

I keep reading things like this and i keep hearing things like “we have to save the planet” and “humans are destroying our planet” but guess what? Nobody wants to do it.

Nobody wants to use less palm oil, plastics and so on. Nobody wants to do something different than liking posts on Instagram and keep telling how good all the anti climate change protests are.

And it fucks me up because we need to do something. And everyone is we.

I’ve got friends who tell me how bad the use if palm oil is and that we need to stop to cut down the rainforest and those friends are eating Nutella at the same time.

I’ve got friends who tell me how great Friday For Future is and how important this idea is but guess what, those friends are wearing the lastest clothes and do absolutly nothing but talk about how evil humans are.

I do not want to say i am a better person but i keep trying and i want to make a change.

And so can you. Everybody is able to help our planet. Everybody can save it!!! Stop talking and start doing it.

(Same time ago i posted about how you can help our planet.)

Stop being someone who says “the humans are destroying the earth” and start recognizing that we are destroying the earth - but we can change it. There is still hope.

Fridays for future

The demonstracions which take place every friday are a good idea to make sure more people weak up and start caring about climate change. Greta Thunberg is a role model to many young children and her goals are really remarkable.

But many teenager just think it is ’cool’ to be a part of the movement but totally forget this is about politics.

Many of them wear the latest fashion and constantly get new stuff. They use make up which is filled with micro particlesandpalm oil. This has a great impact on the nature too.

When you demonstrate for something you should totally agree with it and start doing something against it instead of joining a movement without even knowing what’s going on.

To do something against climate change you could eat less meat, don’t buy palm oil products anymore, save water, use less plastics, try to waste less paper and plastic and so on.

So if you think about joining Fridays For Future you should think first what this movement is about and what you can do as a person to stop climate change.

Transcript of a video of Grete Thunberg:

“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school, on the other side of the ocean. Yet, you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you?

You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, yet I am one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth.

How dare you?”
