LIVE

I’ve cut my menstrual cup’s ring! And it feels much better now ;) I’ve had an continuous feel of it poking me and it was irritating my vagina, now I can’t feel it at all ;)

I wanted to wait with cutting the stim utill I get comfortable with inserting and pulling out my cup. I adapted to this quickly ;)

I’m also considering buying a bit smaller cup, but for now this one is okay.

Check out my previous post about menstrual cups;)

Greetings!

smallzerowaste:

I’ve upcycled a wooden crate!

I upcycled a wooden crate using paints that I don’t use anymore and old bubble wrap (I couldn’t find another foil). I put some potting soil inside it and planted some seeds… now I’m looking forward to planting lots of herbs inside my house! Okay, I’m joking, for now it is just a basil ;)

My motivation? I got really irritated with buying basil spice in paper bags every month… you know the small bags you can find in (I guees) every shop. I’ve also seen same looking basil being sold in plastic bottles (similar to ketchup bottles), what’s wrong with people? Anyway, I’m a person who uses a lot of basil while cooking and I’ve finally decided I want to grow it myself. But I have a large garden so why did I plant it in a crate? I wanted to check how it is to plant food inside ;)

By the way, I mentioned a bubble wrap. If you obtain it somehow, don’t throw it out! Always try to reuse bubble wrap, I always collect it and if I have to I use it to pack another package ;) Here are some ideas what you can do with bubble wrap:

  • Use it to cover wooden crate similar to mine and make your own potting crate ;)
  • You can use it for window isolation (it is useful especially in winter)
  • Simply use it to secure what you need
  • Make a frottage! Cover the wrap with paint and make a stamp
  • Or use it in a collage! (maybe it won’t save the planet but it’s fun…)
  • Make some beads! I’m absolutely amazed by the idea!
  • Use it in photography (for example like that)
  • If you like baking and you are brave, you can also try out those wild DIY from youtube:D

I hope I inspired you a bit ;)

Thanks for supporting me!

Greetings!

Growing

I’m completely not a winter person. I lost all my motivation at winter. Can’t wait for the spring ☆

Anyway winter this year is so warm I’m afraid of what summer brings us. I’m scared of the drought.

Here are some tips that help us prevent the drought

  • save as much water as you can
  • don’t mow your lawn too often the grass is natural water store ;)
  • also try to  protest against mowing grass in parks and removing green areas
  • save trees, support organisations planting trees, use ecosia
  • plant something in your garden or your area ;)
  • recycle!
  • help to clean up the Earth
  • go less waste ;)
  • avoid consumerism
  • reduce your screen time ;)
  • eat less meat, try to grow your own food
  • when it’s hot water your plants with rainwater and greywater

Together we can make a change!

On my way to more minimalist lifestyle…

… and I bought second onesie

Of course pre-owned from someone who didn’t want to keep it. My pyjama is completely worn out and I became to hate sleeping wearing it. And the second onesie is used by me as party costume, I rarely sleep in it.

I doubt if I’ll become a minimalist someday. Or a true zero waster. But I swear I’m trying to live more sustainably and I’m doing best I can do.

At this point in my life I’m in continuous confusion and I must face many stressful events in the next few months. More and more often I feel anxious and alone with problems. Sometimes I even feel suicidal.

But I know it will get better.

;)

effects of Climate Change: antarctica

The most known effect of Climate Change is the gradient of temperature and the fact that the ice of the poles melts but what are sideeffects of this gradient?

The rising of temperature effects the activities of animals, their obsolescence and their reproduction. Their ability of rivalry and their  trophicrelation. Furthermore animals will leave their old habitat and search for a new one because they aren’t adapted to their old one and an adaption is needed to survive.

Of course, the ice will melt too and their habitat gets smaller and smaller wich is also a cause to leave it. Besides the number of rainfall will change and the sea level will rise. And the absence of ice will lead to erosion of the coasts.

But what will happen to the animals? Let’s have a closer look at an example.

This is krill, the most important organism in the polare seas. It’s nutriment to most nearly every creature in the antarctica, dircetly or indirectly.

Krill eats phytoplankton which lives under massive ice. If the ice melts there will be a a big leck in the offer of nutriment for the krill wich will lead to a high number of deaths of the krill. Furthermore the rising absorption of carbon dioxide will make the oceans acid. The shell of krill is made of calcium wich is the reason why the acid sea can destroy the shells easier and baby krill die more often because their shells can’t be build.

The missing of krill has an huge effect of every creature on the antarctica. Orcas eat seals. Seals eats cods. Cods eat herrings. Herrings eat krill. And there isn’t enough krill out there. So ther won’t be enough herrings. Consequently there won’t be enough cods. Consequently there won’t be enough seals. Consequently there won’t be enough Orcas. Huge networks of nutriment will collapse and the ecosystem will be destroyed.

Climate Change has an huge impact of the life of millions out there. It isn’t just bad for humans but it will be the decline of millions of millions of organism.

What should humans do?

  • make laws about fishing in polare seas
  • use environmentally friendly methodes of fishing which don’t destroy the habitats
  • don’t use routes which lead through habitats directly
  • avoid harvaries (yes, nobody does it intentional)
  • avoid tourism in arctic zones because people will detroy habitats, disturb animals, destroy organism and bring in different creatures to the habitats wich will have an negative impacts on it
  • create ‘nationalpark’ zones to protect the nature
  • stop Climate change

What shoul you do?

  • eat less fish (which was caught near the antarctica)
  • reduce the waste of plastics
  • try different methodes to stop Climate Change like saving energy or stop pollution
  • spreadthe message by sharing this post, telling your friends or posting about the climate crisis too

Ecosystems around the globe need us to save them because we are the ones who will kill them slowly.

bisexualfeministlion:

Save our rainforest!

Why is it important to save the rainforest?

  • Every 2,5 seconds we lose an area of the rainforest which is as big as a footballfield
  • A tree can change 9000 liters of carbondioxid into oxygen in one sunny day. Think of all the trees that are missing
  • The earth gets infertile without the trees
  • Annihilation of indigenous cultures
  • Every day more than 70 species die out
  • About 90% of the types of trees in the rainforest are nearly vanished
  • Just take 3 minutes of the time you spend in the internet and google some more… you will be shoked

What can you do to stop the clearing?

  • Stop buying products which include palm oil (Nutella, most sorts of chocolate, …) and buy some without it instead
  • Stop the consum of paper and use paper with a seal of quality
  • Eatless meat (because in the agriculture products of soya are used to feed the animals. To plant those big areas of the fainforest are cleared)
  • Only buy (cosmetic) products if the have a certain seal of quality
  • Stop using to much plastic (because to get oil the rainforest is cleared)
  • Spread the message and tell your friends
  • Shrink your carbon footprint
  • Just search up some more. There are tons of things you can do.

Together we can save the rainforest, animals, humans and the natures if just enough people be part of the change!

This isn’t about politics. This is about saving our earth.

(Sorry for my english, i am not a native speaker)

If you’ve ever been interested in our earth than do something to save the planet!!

I keep reading things like this and i keep hearing things like “we have to save the planet” and “humans are destroying our planet” but guess what? Nobody wants to do it.

Nobody wants to use less palm oil, plastics and so on. Nobody wants to do something different than liking posts on Instagram and keep telling how good all the anti climate change protests are.

And it fucks me up because we need to do something. And everyone is we.

I’ve got friends who tell me how bad the use if palm oil is and that we need to stop to cut down the rainforest and those friends are eating Nutella at the same time.

I’ve got friends who tell me how great Friday For Future is and how important this idea is but guess what, those friends are wearing the lastest clothes and do absolutly nothing but talk about how evil humans are.

I do not want to say i am a better person but i keep trying and i want to make a change.

And so can you. Everybody is able to help our planet. Everybody can save it!!! Stop talking and start doing it.

(Same time ago i posted about how you can help our planet.)

Stop being someone who says “the humans are destroying the earth” and start recognizing that we are destroying the earth - but we can change it. There is still hope.

I always wondered why somebody doesn’t do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody.

Lily Tomlin

You are somebody! Even small things can make a difference:

  • seperate your garbage
  • be a friendly human
  • eat less meat/chicken/fish
  • buy less plastic products
  • buy less palm oil products
  • donate clothes/money
  • respect others
  • spread the message
  • try to make the world a little bit better by every choice

Caring for climate change, the clearing of the rainforest and extinction of animals isn’t about politics, it’s about saving our earth!

Indri

The Indri is one of the largest living lemurs. Like all lemurs, the indri is native to Madagascar. These primates live in small groups of mated pairs. The groups are very vocal and often communicate with other groups by singing and roaring.

The indri has a mating partner for life unless one of the partners dies. If one partner dies, the other will go off to find a new mate. Although they live in groups, they sleep alone or with their pair in trees.

Indris are herbivorous and primarily folivorous, meaning they eat only leaves. Female indris prefer premature leaves, and have seniority over their food source. Because of this, they feed higher up in the trees.

This species is critically endangered. They only inhabit Madagascar, and their primary threat is deforestation. They are also hunted as their meat is a delicacy in some regions. Conservation efforts to hold them in zoos has, unfortunately, failed. Only one indri has lived over a year in a zoo, and reproduction efforts have never been a success.

Malayan TapirThe Malayan tapir is the only tapir to inhabit Asia out of the five other tapir species

Malayan Tapir

The Malayan tapir is the only tapir to inhabit Asia out of the five other tapir species. It is also the biggest out of the five, with and average weight between  250 and 320 kg (550 and 710 lb). The female tapir is usually larger than the male.

Malayan Tapirs rely on their excellent hearing ability due to their poor eye sight. This makes it extremely difficult for them to search for food and avoid predators. However, despite its bulky body, they can run very fast.

These animals are very independent and dominant large areas of lands for themselves by urinating on surrounding plants. They choose their habitats near water where they bathe. Malayan tapirs are herbivorous and eats exclusively shoots and leaves.

The Malayan tapir used to inhabit areas all around Asian rein forests, however, they are now endangered toward extinction. This is due to mostly deforestation, but they are also being used for illegal trade and are hunted for sport.

10 Reasons Why Orca Whales Should NOT be at Seaworld (Or Any Marine Park)In the wild, orcas swim up

10 Reasons Why Orca Whales Should NOT be at Seaworld (Or Any Marine Park)

  1. In the wild, orcas swim up to 100 miles a day. They are confined into a small tank in captivity.
  2. Their collapsed dorsal fins (pictured above) are a sign of an unhealthy whale. All male orcas in captivity have a collapsed dorsal fin. Less than 1% of orcas have this condition in the wild.
  3. Orcas do not live up to their nickname “killer whale”. There has not been one incident of an orca killing a human in the wild. However, in captivity, orcas have killed 3 humans and injured 151 reported injury incidences.
  4. On average, orcas live up to 50 years old in the wild. Some females have been reported to live 80-100 years old. Seaworld’s average orca life span is 13 years old.
  5. Family is important to orcas. In the wild, their pods include generations upon generations of their family. Marine parks do not keep their families together. In fact, babies are taken from their mothers. This is psychologically traumatizing to the whales.
  6. Whale fights are common in the tanks because they are not in their pods and they are, literally, mentally ill. In a tank, whales can’t flee from fights like they can in the wild. These whales get brutally injured and sometimes killed by other whales in the tank.
  7. Pods have their own languages. In a tank with other whales who have different languages. Imagine living with somebody who speaks a different language with you and you cannot use hand motions. Frustrating right?
  8. Not only are the tanks in marine parks WAY too small for this wild animal, in the wild, marine mammals live in a habitat full of MANY other marine plants and animals. In captivity, they live in a cement, chlorinated tank.
  9. Since 1961, 141 whales have been captured. 125 of these whales have died.
  10. The brain of an orca is 4 times larger than the human brain. It has been confirmed their intelligence matches to ours, if not more.

Just imagine living in cement room with a few other people who don’t speak your language. Imagine not knowing if you will ever see your family again. Imagine being forced to do performances for others and being fed one thing for the rest of your life. Imagine being confined in a cement room when there is a whole world out there to explore.

So, how can you help? It’s easy! boycott sea world. Without the revenue, they are forced to shut down their business. Also, education is important. Remind the public of what is going on.

Quoll Returns to the Australian Mainland After 50 Years

On March 1st, Fourteen eastern quolls were released into Australia’s mainland to rebuild their population because of a team’s effort from Australian National University. Since the 1770′s, quoll numbers have been declining due to many dangers such as habitat loss and predators that include foxes, wild dogs, and cats.

The quoll is carnivorous and feeds on smaller mammals, small birds, lizards, and insects. Until now, it has inhabited inland parts of Australia. There are six current species(pictured is the tiger quoll). The larger of which live longer than the smaller, with an average life span of two to five years.

So, whats the point of this translocation? Well, quolls are important to the functioning of the mainland ecosystem where they regulate the prey species. The released quolls will have radio tracking collars to be monitored.

Fact about the quoll: Male and female quolls only meet for mating, and male den territories often overlap female territories. However, they have communal toilets where they may have up to 100 droppings in them.
