Stay A While and Get To Know Our Stomping Grounds
Originally founded in the name of the Queen, New England has a storied history stretching back centuries. While many only know what N.E. stands for from watching the past 15 years of superior performances in the NFL, the six states that comprise the region have contributed immensely to the nation’s progress.
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut and yes, Massachusetts are the names of the splendid six that define this portion of the country.
Whether you think of the original colonists who landed at Plymouth Rock, Roger Williams and religious freedom; progressive movements in the 19th/20th centuries, the presidential primaries in New Hampshire or the rise of legislation that led to Obamacare, you won’t find a shorter Wikipedia page
Ever resilient against the British, racial strife, the intense extremes of old money and new poverty and even terror attacks, these these lands are rich with the blood, sweat and tears of a strong people.
“I didn’t have to choose, New England; I could’ve chose other states, anywhere I wanted,” says AMD Entertainment CEO, Annmarie Debrito.
“I choose New England because I feel the world doesn’t know how beautiful New England really is and showcase all the amazing things we have to offer.”
With primary filming locations scouted in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, Debrito says there’s many possible landmarks to showcase in both states and the commonwealth.
While we can’t necessarily give specific, cross-street level information out to the public, we will be showcasing very popular icons familiar to many in the region.
Whether in the soft snow of the winter or the wild waves of summer beaches, you can rest well knowing a proper representation of the environment is in store.
I remember when teachers wouldn’t give kids Tylenol.
US — Hartford, Connecticut. A school nurse was suspended for expressing “inappropriate” and “hateful rhetoric” and “values totally inconsistent” with a Connecticut public school’s stance after revealing in a Facebook group: “I have an 11yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this as a secret from their parents.” The controversy was sparked after Kathleen Cataford, aged 77, advised parents in the Connecticut Mom’s Club Facebook group:
“Buyer beware. Investigate the school system curriculum … CT is a very socially liberal, gender confused state … As a public school nurse, I have an 11 yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen students identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this a secret from their parents with the help of teachers, SSW [social service worker] and administration.”
Her comment proceeded to warn:
Teachers and SSW are spending 37.5 hours a week influencing your children, not necessarily teaching [your] children what YOU think is being taught. Children are introduced to this confusion in kindergarten by the school SW who ‘teaches’ social and emotional regulation and school expectations. The Facebook post concluded by pointing out the hypocrisy of banning children from making decisions about their bodies with the reasoning that their brains are still developing, yet permitting children to use puberty blockers, hormones and undergo cosmetic surgeries.
Science tells us that a child’s brain continues development into the early 20’s, hence laws prohibiting alcohol, tobacco, vaping and cannibis. But it’s ok to inject hormones into confused prepubescent children and perform genital mutilating surgery on adolescents! How incongruent is that”
The school nurse’s Facebook comment was discovered by the parent of the 11-year-old who had been prescribed puberty blockers. The parent then brought the post to the attention of the Richard J Kinsella Magnet School. Dr Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, the Superintendent, swiftly released a message for members of the Hartford Public Schools (HPS) community slamming the nurse, who was not named, for having “described private and personal details about a specific student.” Although the nurse had “used a personal social media account…the values they express are totally inconsistent with what we stand for.” Calling her language “hateful rhetoric,” the Superintendent’s letter said: “HPS does not tolerate any language that could be harmful to our community.” The letter assured that the nurse “has been put on administrative leave while the district conducts an investigation.”
The suspension of the school nurse has gone viral, igniting a backlash on social media. To express your views about the issue, send your email to members of the Hartford Schools board of directors listed below:
