Here’s my submission for The Frida Cinema (in Santa Ana, CA) “60’s Cinema” art show that begins tomorrow - Henry Fonda as “Frank” from Sergio Leone’s “Once Upon A Time In The West”. It’s one that I’ve wanted to do for awhile and this was the perfect opportunity.
All art is available to purchase and portions of the proceeds go directly to the Frida to help keep the cinema-going spirit alive.
The show runs thru the end of August so you have plenty of time to stop by!

I’d like to think the theme of my new Grand Old Movies post–called DINNERS FROM HELL, and just in time for Thanksgiving!–might be a bit of schadenfreude for all those nervous turkeys out there: a way of saying, “It’s nice to see that others can also suffer at this time of year.” In keeping with the festive spirit of eating, I look at a series of cinematic dinners that, contrary to expectations, don’t bring out the best in either the situation or us. Featured in this cornucopia of frazzled feasting, blotto banquets, manic meals, and disastrous dining are Laurel & Hardy, James Stewart, Jean Arthur, Henry Fonda, Lucille Ball, Geraldine Page, Glenn Ford, W.C. Fields, and Moe, Larry, and Curly bringing up the rear with pies (lots of pies). If nothing else, it might inspire us to finally start that diet. Please click here to read my post. And Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh my god, this is boring and it feels like a crime against cinema that it wastes such a good cast. I really don’t have much to say about it, but it never really hooks and beyond a few good crowd scenes, there’s not all that much to it. 2/10.
