The Great Wizard of Oz. An allegorical work that emerged in Western literature and reflects the reality of the whole world. The journey of A wonderful literary work, from book pages to cameras. The tin man symbolizing the rusting of the American Industry … The cowardly lion symbolizing William Jennings Bryant, who worked hard to be the president of the USA in those years … Eastern Witch, symbolizing the ruthless bankers and businessmen of the eastern states… Scarecrow representing farmers in Kansas … And the cute young advocate of feminism, Dorothy and her ruby slippers. To take advantage of new Technicolor technology, the slippers were changed from the book’s silver to an iridescent red hue. They were created by Gilbert Adrian (1903-1959), MGM Studios’ chief costume designer at the time. In the movie, Dorothy is gifted the slippers from Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, to keep them safe from the Wicked Witch of the West and to help her return home to Kansas. Over the years, they have become one of the most iconic parts of the film and of American culture. A number of pairs were made for the film, though the exact number is unknown. Five pairs are known to have survived; one pair was stolen from a museum in 2005 and recovered in 2018.

I dedicate today to a creative woman of Ishtar. To Afifa Aleiby. Afifa Aleiby (born 1952, Basra Iraq ) grew up in a family devoted to culture and the arts where she painted from an early age. She studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and worked as an illustrator for the Iraqi press. In 1974, she left Iraq for the Soviet Union to study at the Surikov Institute in Moscow. In 1981, unable to return to Iraq due to the political situation, she moved to Italy and later to Yemen, where she taught at the Institute of Fine Arts in Aden. Aleiby has contributed to cultural activities in support of the Iraqi and international democratic movements, and in the struggle against terrorism, racism, war and dictatorship. She has participated in numerous art exhibitions, from Baghdad and Moscow to Yemen, Italy, Syria, Lebanon, England and the United States. Aleiby has been living and working in the Netherlands since the mid 1990s. The Museum Catharinagasthuis in Gouda presented a retrospective of her work in 1999, and she exhibits periodically with the De Twee Pauwen gallery in The Hague.
And in recent years, she made a big impact on Sotheby’s art block with her 2003 work Antiquarian… @afifa_aleiby

As a tribute to impressionist painter Claude Monet, Feng J reimagines the artist’s Jardin de Giverny in an exquisite transformable masterpiece featuring an impressive 19-carat fancy light pink diamond.
Using a variety of gemstones like colours on a palette, high jewellery artist Feng J paints a breathtaking garden with her “floating setting” technique.
The ‘Jardins de Giverny’ necklace is a multi-functional accomplishment. To allow for greater versatility, a section of the necklace can be detached to become a bracelet, while the 19-carat Fancy Light Pink diamond can be converted into an impressive ring, to be worn alone, or as a set with the bracelet.
DESCRIPTION: One cut-cornered rectangular step-cut Fancy Light Pink diamond, 19.00 carats.
Vari-shaped rose-cut sapphires, white sapphires, pink spinels, tanzanites, aquamarines and tsavorites, 83.08 carats total. Diamond beads, round brilliant and rose-cut diamonds, 32.53 carats total.
A section of the necklace is detachable and can be worn as a bracelet.
Accompanied by a ring mount 18K white gold.

The ‘Fountain of Diamonds’ is an usual creation that brings to life the Parisian fountains. The movement of the water is rendered by 95 circular bubbling diamonds beads, all set by hand and culminating at a 22.08-carat, D colour, VS1 clarity, Type IIa diamond.
A jewellery sculpture spiralling around the finger, with diamonds graduating from small to big and from big to small, to replicate the movement of the water.
