Snowy Jackalope

My latest painting and a further test of skill using this new medium. Quite a few hours in this piece and the most detailed painting I have done using Krita with over 20 layers to help create a realistic fur effect.

Boris Karloff as probably one of the most iconic movie monsters of all time in Frankenstein, 1931.
This painting started off as a quick practice but I enjoyed it so much I spent an extra hour or so to finish it.

This is Donaghadee’s iconic lighthouse, built in the early 1800s and earning the town the it’s reputation as “The beacon of the coast ”.
Drawn exclusively using Krita from a photograph taken two years ago from the North Pier at low tide.

The Moat, Donaghadee.
Built in 1818 to house dynamite being used to blast out a new seabed for the newly planned harbour, this miniature castle was built on the site of a Norman motte & bailey.
It has formed a part of the Donaghadee skyline ever since.

Finished sketch of late Frightened Rabbit front man Scott Hutchinson. I was a fan from the first moment I heard their music and rarely does a week go by that I don’t play a few songs, still as beautiful and poignant as the first time.
Thankfully his legacy lives on with his music, friends and family, and the inspiration he gave everyone.
