I think this is the first time I have finished inktober (I have got close before but always lose it around week three or so?) and I am really proud that I made it! Inktober Day 7 - Kitty and Mrawh and the fence
Clearly I saw fence and draw a rock wall but it is close enough! These two are known for getting into what they shouldn’t. If they didn’t then Kitty would never have met Mrawh and we all know how tragic that would be. So here they are exploring and if one finds a barrier it is only logical to find out what is on the other side. It wasn’t like there was a sign that said for them to keep out.

Day 6 and still breathing! So I debated with myself about tidepools or sandcastles and went with sandcastle. I think Mrawh trying to fight off the encroaching water is just too darn cute. He doesn’t like salt water much, and definitely not when he has worked so hard on a castle! They probably used his hat to make some of the towers which I bet is super adorable.

Day 5 - Kitty and Mrawh find a mysterious shack
Still going strong!I really like this one. It took me far too many thumbnails to figure out what to do but I like what I came up with. So Mrawh doesn’t often like to hold hands but I think he is feeling a but spooked. Is it a witches cottage? Who knows! Also did bit more brushwork on this one that I am pleased with.

Illusory// Discarnate
Today I can share this piece, the first of three I created for Ethereal Shroud for the first single from their forthcoming album Trisagion.
“Illusory” serves as the single art for “Discarnate” the second Track of the aforementioned album. The ink painting was created last winter as a part of “The Lost Years” ink series, still on-going.
The piece was created with direction from the band, and after hearing an early demo.
The song this piece is tied to is powerful and shows off another side of the multifaceted- atmospheric black metal outfit: Etheral Shroud. I’ve been a fan of the band’s work since I stumbled upon the last release back in 15 when working nights at a former job. Since then it’s been a pleasure working for and getting to know the band and hear this record evolve.

For me this piece was also about fragility, loneliness and failure - so much changed, that at times it seemed, and still seems that world really is falling down around us. Those castles and spires I always saw on the horizon seem to drift further away, leaving only ruin and regret.

Album Art: “Trisagion” for Ethereal Shroud
I can now announce that my artwork (One More Place we cannot go) will be featured on Ethereal Shroud’s Forthcoming release titled “Trisagion".
The piece was originally part of a series of ink and wash paintings, reacting to the changes and craziness of 2020. Now it will be the cover for an atmospheric black metal album, by the very talented band “Ethereal Shroud”.
