I’m trying to read these books in six-month chunks now, just to vary things up — it’s kinda working except the Inhumans’ appearance here spoiled/teased something in Fantastic Four comics I haven’t gotten to yet…

Jonathan Majors has become one of my favourite actors over the last couple of years and he has such a wonderful face, he was a total joy to paint.
He’s best known for his roles in The Harder They Fall and Loki but if you haven’t seen his film, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, I can’t recommend it enough! It’s a special gem of a movie.

Loki vs Spiderman No Way Home on tackling the Multiverse
This post will contain spoilers for Spiderman NWH!
I’m gonna need Feige to entrust certain writers on themes that are gonna be touched upon in movies later on to be used in their series. Let me explain.
Spider-Man No Way Home really displayed how BAD and HORRENDOUS the Loki show actually is. Like, plot and writing wise, the Loki show has really, really aged badly. So I’m sitting here wondering, since technically NWH explores the concept of variants (a lot better than a whole ass show was supposed to), why didn’t the writers of NWH dealt with the series instead of giving it to an inexperienced writer/director? Genuine question.
NWH made the concept of the multiverse a lot more digestible than a series was supposed to in a way where if you didn’t watch What if ? or Loki (especially), you could understand it…because in this case Doctor Strange admitted that it’s a concept that he still doesn’t know a lot about. So it makes the audience not only equally curious but entangles them to learn about it at the same time with them. But as someone who DID watch Loki, I can tell the writer(s) has some really odd ideas on handling the concept of multiverses and variants.
What I loved about NWH concept of multiverse is that there was no “sacred timeline”. Loki’s idea of Kang keeping a sacred timeline is very flawed simply because to keep it in one “line”, there shouldn’t have been any variant drastically different from our Loki to the point they posed a risk of tampering with Kang’s desires of keeping a “sacred timeline” (examples like Boastful Loki, Sylvie, Alligator Loki etc). Branches that come from that sacred timeline should be mostly the same except a few environmental changes/decisions where it causes the flow of time to expand. I reiterate this because the Loki show contradicts itself. TVA would go as far as prune someone for being late on their way to work; we’ve seen them arrest normal civilians who you could tell were scared and confused.
NWH concept of the multiverse is very matter of factly and unified; the Peters were variants of each other [which by the way, this concept of the Peters being variants makes a LOT more sense]that are in a way technically not related by DNA but are in essence still the same person, just not the same individual since they come from DIFFERENT universes and NOT a BRANCH of the SAME UNIVERSE like Loki does. Their universal destinies were meant to be as Spidermen/Peter Parker. And it was done in less than three hours. In which I feel like that’s what the Loki series tried to do; to make the Lokis feel like their own person/treat the name as if a title of some sort but they of course failed in that aspect.
When you compared all that said with a lame, fascist organization, that apparently previously captured Thanos and vampires before but was easily defeated by being bitten by an eight year old Asgardian, made by a (black ) dictator pruning branches of the same timeline, but then have said characters contradict the existing ways the multiverse works in your show then… especially when you have a writer and director going back and forth not knowing what to exactly describe Sylvie as…
Oh and speaking of Sylvie, so apparently Marvel CAN do siblings of the same variant relationships but it couldn’t be done with Loki and Sylvie ? I mean they kinda had the same amount of time together. They could have fallen in love (since apparently it can take less than 12 hours). Ah wait ? You say the are MALE? Wait one of them in underage ? No wait pause. Is it because they are loners and never had siblings so they related to each other more easily making the dynamic a lot more wholesome? Huh would you look at that. No self cest. Not even a hint. Interesting….
My expectations on dealing with the multiverse shenanigans are really high now. Especially with the knowledge that it CAN be done well. I don’t know how they’re going to go forward with Multiverse of Madness since Micheal Waldron, yes THE Micheal Waldron from the LOKI show I kept shitting on is the HEADWRITER. I’m also curious on how they are going to handle season two.

A glimpse of a team of Young Avengers from Timeless (2021) #1, a one shot about Kang the Conqueror.
I have no idea who any of these characters are supposed to be. The Marvel wiki says that the one in sunglasses is Kate which I suppose I can see, but I don’t even have the beginnings of a guess for the rest of them. Every time I look at the one in a domino mask all I can think of is Roy Harper, and if Roy does somehow manage to switch publisher to join the Young Avengers I will be very impressed
I’m also uncertain how to interpret this glimpse. Outside of the story, Marvel describes this issue as teasing some of the stories to come in 2022. Within the story, Kang is investigating “timequakes,” or disruptions to the timeline caused by an errant timeline’s gravity influencing and disrupting the main timeline, and that errant timeline is (presumably) destroyed at the end of this issue. So I’m not sure if I choose to see this as just a glimpse of a random one off timeline/universe or as the future for the main 616 timeline/universe
what was whole point introducing kang the conqueror as the most dangerous and powerful man in the multiverse if we haven’t heard or seen about him since …… especially considering the plot of two entire films was the multiverse

Honestly that was a wth moment. I’m all for loki finding love but just not with Slyvie. Yes she can relate to him ( I mean they have the same dad/mom just different realities where Loki just happen to have a Vagina) and you should love yourself before you love anyone else. But I really didn’t feel a that strong chemistry off of them. They have a unique chaotic I kinda don’t want to see them apart energy but it’s not love. The best proof of love is Trust. Would you ever stay with someone you can’t trust. Slyvie does not trust Loki even after seeing his growth from the train till now she can’t do the one thing. Trust in someone other than herself. Regardless if she has been on the run and alone it’s more of evidence that she is not equipped with the tools to love anyone. She is just as narcissistic as any other loki. Narcissists may show passion in the early stages of dating. But that sort of passion, according to Jungian analyst Robert Johnson, “is always directed at our own projections, our own expectations, our own fantasies … It is a love not of another person, but of ourselves.”For most narcissists, relationships are transactional. Their objective is to enjoy uncommitted pleasure. (Campbell, et al.) They’re playing a game, and winning is the goal. They’re engaging and energetic and possess emotional intelligence that helps them perceive, express, understand, and manage.
Slyvie played the game using Loki because in all our Loki was the strongest Variant. Slyvie would not have gotten this far had it not been for Loki. As soon as Loki became a threat to what she wanted she simply casted him away sending him back to the TVA because in that moment. Only she mattered. Only her loss was what important to her. That’s all in all a Villian. Sometimes life isn’t fair and you sacrifice your happiness to make it a little less rainy for others. Slyvie was the Villian in the end. Knowing all I know about Kang he was not lying he laid all the cards on the table for them. ( check out Marvel Secret Wars) what’s coming is even worse than Thanos. Shit even Iron Man took the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that the universe was safe. Sometimes things are bigger than you. Life isn’t fair but you gotta look past yourself and see the bigger picture. Cause like I said Kang the Conqueror ain’t no joke. He makes Thanos look like a level one boss.
But hey I guess everyone got their kiss. And all I could see as she pushed him through the door and he landed back in the TVA Sif telling him he’s alone and always would be. Loki deserves to be loved unconditionally. He needs someone that can trust him and have his back. I’m not even a lokius shipper but damn Mobius is a healthier relationship than Slyvie . At least the man did his best to trust Loki when it mattered. Slyvie immediately thought Loki wanted a Throne. Baby you ain’t known him for awhile but the man has had some serious growth. Shit he’s grown so much.
Bottom line if you can’t tell that Loki and Slyvie are absolutely Toxic for each other than I don’t know what to tell you. A relationship will never work without Trust. It’s just chaos and a endless guessing game in your head. Loki was beyond hurt when she sent him to the TVA I don’t think he was scared I think that he was hurt when he was explaining to Mobius what happened. He hadn’t gotten time to process what Slyvie had done to him. He trusted and cared for her. Willing to help her out in anyway possible and in the end she only saw herself.
She is through and through a True Loki. So it’s not that I’m not shipping them cause they are if fact the same person it’s because Loki needs healthy relationships. You can’t stick two addicts in a relationship and hope they fix each other. Slyvie and loki are both too damaged for each other. It can only end in chaos. When they both are able to find someone who trust and loves them for who they are then they will be at peace
