Itachi, forged into a successful ballet dancer by  years of relentless training schedules  and the constant background noise of his overambitious parents has  recently achieved the dream - an engagement as the principal dancer in  the country’s most prestigious ballet ensemble. This, of course, means even more training, even more performances, and  even more pain for his strained body.

Luckily, the doctor responsible for the dancers is highly efficient in his field. With his past somewhat shrouded in mystery, only the scars in his face and his stoic calm in the face of sickening injuries speak of the horrors he might have left behind in another life. Rumour has it that Kisame once worked for an underworld great back when his home country was at war, but his eyes get a dangerous glint whenever someone asks.

Itachi would never ask for something that clearly isn’t meant to be shared. Yet, he can sense there’s something softer beneath Kisame’s rough surface, and finds himself increasingly looking forward to the quiet check-ups in Kisame’s medical wing. Being a top class ballet dancer means spending all day among competitors and having no life outside of work. They smile at each other when they dance and stab each other in the backs when the curtain falls. It’s a lonely existence.

But now there’s the care in Kisame’s eyes when he asks him about his diet. The steadiness of his grip when he fixes a dislocated joint. The little soft glances when they pass each other in the hallway. Itachi eats it all up like a starving man.

They don’t exactly remember when it all started getting there. They kissed. They touched each other in different ways than before. Both of them lonely. Both of them starved. An unlikely pair, finding a bit of solace together.

Hug request gone wrong (when you just want a hug but don’t wanna be so straightfoward about it)

- - - the second idea about Hidan/Kakuzu was Kakuzu saying “pay me first” but we all know that he woudn’t mind to get a bit closer with his favourite idiot ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Kisame lowkey suspects Itachi has an illness. Overtime Kisame begins to pick up on subtle indicators that Itachi has depression on top of this, and notices a gradual decline in his mood lately. Keep in mind Kisame isn’t fully aware of the impact Itachi has faced after the coup d'etat as Itachi has to ensure that is kept under the wraps; therefore, Kisame knows Itachi has depression but is not fully aware as to why.  

Despite the two having a mutual agreement to not meddle in each others private affairs, Kisame decides to take him out at a local ramen shop on their way back from a mission. Of course, a place where the Akatsuki is not well known, yet. This is under the guise Kisame is hungry. Of course that is only half the truth. 

Kisame is always hungry. 

Itachi declines to have anything accept tea, which Kisame knew this would happen. Considering how bad Itachi’s depression is developing, anything to coax him into eating helps. He orders a bowl of ramen and orders a large plate of dangos. Kisame isn’t a big fan of sweets himself, and realizes he “should have ordered a smaller plate of dangos”. 

Without saying anything, Itachi is passed the plate of dangos. Itachi couldn’t resist and takes the rest of the plate for himself. It is not well known aside from Kisame, who spends a great deal of time with Itachi, that he naturally attracts crows around him outside with no viable explanation as to why that is. 

So Itachi offers a small amount of his dangos to his newly found companions as the two enjoy what would be considered a somewhat mudane peaceful moment for the two s-ranked criminals. Knowing that another peaceful moment shared between the two may not come again.
