Long time no post.

I’m working on some classified stuff recently, can’t post those. So here’s something totally unrelated I did a while ago instead.

And yea, haven’t touched my inbox yet. Eep. Apologies.

Chapter 1

Heartslabyul Dorm - Riddle’s Room

*knock knock*

Riddle: Please enter.

Trey: Excuse me. Hey Riddle, are you done with the paperwork for the dorm leader’s meeting?

Riddle: I’ve finished them a while back already. Here.

Trey: Wow… that’s quite a bit. This is going to be sent to the headmaster, right?

Riddle: Yes. I still have other documents to attend, so I’ll leave this task to you.

Trey: Alright, I’ll send them over now. Don’t strain yourself too much. Well then, I’ll be off now.

Riddle: Goodness, Trey has always been a worrywart… However, if I were to take a break, I will never be able to catch up with the schedule. I guess I’ll just have to finish this up quickly. Let’s see… Next is the registration for the interdormitory Magishift competition. …Of course it’s Azul, there’s a lot of terms and conditions since it’s drafted by him. This is going to take a lot just to go through it.

*raining*

Riddle: Oh, it’s raining…? I was engrossed in checking through the documents that I didn’t realise it started to rain. The forecast did not mention about the rain at all but it’s pouring down quite hard. I wonder if Trey brought an umbrella out….

Cafeteria

                                                       Next Day
Trey: Achoo!

Riddle: !

Trey: Haa… Sorry, I didn’t mean to do that while we’re eating.

Cater: Did you catch a cold, Trey?

Riddle: Goodness me… This is why I told you to stay warm and go to bed early yesterday.

Trey: Haha, my bad. I had to finish up my homework so I ended up staying later than usual. It was my bad for not managing myself properly, so it wasn’t your fault, Riddle.

Riddle: Hmmm…

Cater: Wait a minute! Why is Trey who is sick apologizing to Riddle who’s fit as a fiddle? Even though I’m not involved in this at all, why do I have a sense of being left out! Please let me in your convo~

Trey: Nah, it’s nothing important…

Riddle: I requested Trey to run an errand for me when it suddenly rained.

Cater: Oh yeah, perhaps it did rain~ Looks like it wasn’t your lucky day, Trey.

Trey: Aa…. Achoo!

Riddle: Do you have a fever, Trey?

Trey: I did measure my temperature in the morning… I think I should be fine for now.

Riddle: You don’t look like you have an appetite so… you better do it again after dinner.

Cater: Gosh, you really didn’t touch any of your food. Why don’t you go to the nurse’s office later?

Trey: You’re both exaggerating this. I’m fine, just feeling a bit under the weather.

Cater: Then you should at least drink something that’s good for you right now, like soup. Do you want me to buy some for you?

Trey: I think you guys are making a mountain out of a molehill. You really don’t have to go this far… Achoo! Ugh…

Cater: Ah~ you don’t say… I’ll bring him back to the dorm now, Riddle.

Riddle: …………

Library

Riddle: Trey that guy… his cold grew worse in the end. My ability to manage dorm students will be doubt by others if this goes on. Let’s see… Recipe book for homecooked meals… Got it. Now, I need to look for recipes that are good for colds, something like soup that can warm the body…There’s spicy tomato soup, tomato and chili soup, habanero soup with pork and chives…They all sound great for warming up but it doesn’t look like they’re easy on the stomach.

Lilia: Hey, the young lad over there, looks like you’re having some problems.

Riddle:?! You’re… senior Lilia from Diasomnia… Just how did you get behind me…?

Lilia: You looked very focused there. Aren’t cha finding somethin’? Oh my… Ain’t that a recipe book ya holdin’?

Riddle: Aah, no, this is…!

Lilia: You wanna do some cookin’, lad? I assumed that cooking is usually done by your vice-dorm leader.

Riddle: That’s true, if nothing happened…

Lilia: Ohhh, I see now. Seems like that lad Trey somehow did not beat the cold, huh.

Riddle: Eh? How did you know that?

Lilia: He’s in the same class as li'l ol’ me. He’s been sneezing all morning, can’t unsee him even if I want to. Does this mean you’re planning to make a light soup that’s easy on the stomach for him?

Riddle: I am somewhat responsible for the cold Trey has…

Lilia: Indeed, the pains of tossing around in agony is seared into my memory. How nostalgic, I wonder how old Silver was back then…

Riddle: I think tossing around in agony is a bit too exaggerated. All you have to do is find the right recipe for it.

Lilia: This li’l ol’ me probably wasn’t able to find one back then.

Riddle: How can you say for certain?

Lilia: Kufufu. I did try to look for one a long time ago. A nice and light soup perfect for fighting a cold is so simple that no recipe of it exist. Ya can feel the pride of culinary experts.

Riddle: It can’t be… Then I might have to consider other dishes…

Lilia: Wait, don’t rush. If it’s the soup recipe you want, ol’ me can teach you.

Riddle: Eh?!

Chapter 2

Heartslabyul Dorm - Kitchen

Riddle: I never knew the kitchen could be this cold during the night…

Lilia: It is a place that where fire is handled. It’s only natural that it’s cooler when no one is using it. Well then, let’s get started. We got to make this soup and give it to Trey before he goes to bed.

Riddle: Alright. Ummm… So do I start with a pot?

Lilia: Umu Umu. Next is water and some seasonings.

Riddle: How much water should I use? “Appropriate amount”… Let’s put it aside.

Lilia: You can measure the amount you want with a cup and put it in the pot. You can adjust the flavours with seasonings accordingly.

Riddle: The amount I want… Will 3 cups be enough?

Lilia: Wow, that’s a whole lot. Well, they do say go big. Next, how many spoons of consommé do you use for every cup…? How many spoons was it again… I think it’s 4 spoons.

Riddle: Ok, so the total will be 12 spoons.

Lilia: Now all you have to do next is season it and boil it, but here’s where it gets hard. The call for the “appropriate amount”.

Riddle: Ugh… Didn’t I say to skip this part… Are you sure you can make something delicious by eyeballing the “appropriate amount” the seasonings…? Anyways, what do we need to add in “appropriate amounts”? Was it salt?

Lilia: Humu, the basic seasoning is indeed salt, but it’s best if for you to add whatever you want. For example… Lad, what’s your favourite food?

Riddle: It would be strawberry tart, I can’t put that in the soup though.

Lilia: Are you sure. I believe that adding something that you like would increase your appetite. If you were to put other in other ingredients such as ginger, egg, garlic, it would be good for nourishment and strength. With that said, bananas and yogurts are a staple in my household.

Riddle: You’re putting those stuffs in…? I think you do have a point at the importance of nutrient intake… But the question is how much of it?

Lilia: That’s where you put an “appropriate amount”!! The higher the nutritional  value, the faster the sick is going to get well.

Riddle: Is that so… Then, I shall increase the amount…

Lilia: Back then when li'l ol’ me was making this kind of soup, I added chili peppers. When Silver took a bite of my dish, he jumped up immediately as if the curse has been lifted.

Riddle: I-I think the spiciness backfired? Alright, I think it should be fine if I add this much in.

Lilia: Oya, have you already added them in?

Riddle: Yes. If I were to think about Trey…. I will put this much as the “appropriate amount”

Lilia: Good. Once everything is boiled, it should be done.

Riddle: Ok. Then put it on medium heat…? Isn’t the smell a bit too strong…?

Heartslabyul Dorm - Trey’s Room

Trey:  …Achoo!

*knock knock*

Trey: Hmm? Who could it be at this hour?

*opens*

Trey: …Ah.

Riddle: That should be my line. I can’t believe you’re still awake at this hour despite being in this state.

Trey: I did nap until just a while ago after I came back to the dorm. I felt slightly better so that’s why I’m up, at least I should finish off my homework. That aside, what’s that you’re holding?

Riddle: It’s soup… I tried making it for the first time so I can’t guarantee its taste… You don’t have to eat if you don’t want to. I’ll eat it for tomorrow’s breakfast.

Trey: Pass it to me, I’ll have some. Thanks for making it for me.

Riddle: Yeah. Then, good night…

Trey: Hmpmm…

Riddle: W-wait a minute, why are you eating it now?! At least wait until I leave!

Trey: Mnnn… *cough* Well, I figured I should let you know how is it since you made it for me and all. I think it taste pretty good for your first try. Thank you.

Riddle:  Alright then…. Achoo!

Trey: Riddle?

Riddle: Haa… Your room is kind of cold. It’s hard to get better even if you try in this condition. Make your room warmer and go to sleep.

Trey: Yeah, you too Riddle. Looks like it’s going to be cold tonight.

Riddle: Even during a time like this you’re still… Just focus on getting better yourself, Trey.

School Infirmary

                                                          Next Day

Riddle: …. Achoo! Ughh… I’m shivering…

Jade: Please take care now, Riddle. I shall return back to the class now.

Riddle: Yeah, thanks for bringing me to the Infirmary room and sorry to take up your time during lesson hours… Achoo!

Riddle: I think the nurse isn’t around, but at least there’s an empty bed. I’ll just have to pull this through myself… Haa… I have to get the thermometer…. and then an ice pack… What a blunder. I can’t believe I caught a cold too… Oh, my lab coat… I forgot to take them off… But… it’s so troublesome… to take them off…

Riddle:*zzzz*

Riddle:*zzzz*…Hmm? ?! Wait, what time is it now?!

Trey: Good morning, Riddle. It’s afterschool hours now.

Riddle: Trey… Why are you here?

Trey: I heard that you’re resting in the infirmary room so I came to check on you for a bit. How are you feeling?

Riddle: I feel fine now… Achoo!

Trey: I don’t think so. Just stay put and sleep for today. Return to the dorm once your cold has calmed down.

Riddle:*sigh* Looks like we’re in complete opposite situations compared to yesterday…

Trey: Haha, you’re right. Thanks for the soup. I finished all of it.

Riddle: What you…idiot…

Trey: Hmm?

Riddle: Nothing. I’m fine enough to walk so I’ll go back to the dorm and rest.

Trey: Need an escort?

Riddle: I don’t need-…Achoo!
