While we’re all here and I’m trans and cranky I also want to say that there is no like gender conforming presentation as nonbinary. There is not and should never be a gender role for nonbinary that anyone should feel pressure to confirm to, and no specific presentation as nonbinary person is more correct or acceptable. Masculine and feminine are arbitrary and presentation does not equal gender this is like trans 101 yall.
Nonbinary people do not owe you androgyny and nonbinary people who are ‘masculine’ or 'feminine’ are not any less nonbinary and they are not privileged by having their gender identity erased because they are assumed to be men or women, nor are nonbinary people who are 'androgynous’ conforming to a socially accepted nonbinary gender role and they are not privileged by being visibly trans, nonbinary, or gender variant in a cis binary gender normative society that is hostile to gender nonconformity.

Easy, cis and binary people don’t like how we challenge gender norms and the gender binary and will say whatever they have to in order to try and shame us out of it. It’s not about trying to make us the “right” kind of nonbinary, it’s about trying to get us to stop being the kind of nonbinary that we are in order to control us and eventually shame us out of being nonbinary at all. Next fucking question.

[note for people who don’t know in the tags confused about latinx vs latine: the debate in nonbinary Latine communities isn’t about ‘misuse’ of ‘latinx’ it’s the fact that latinx is not pronounceable in spanish, but Latine is, making Latine preferable in spoken setting, but Latinx is still used by a lot of people in online/written settings.
There have always been arguments about Latinx and Latine though from exorsexist cis Latine though. And the turning “latinx” into a meme (ya I saw you all on twitter you exorsexisist fucks) really took off from cis Latine at the start of Latine history month in the US because most of the posters used “Latinx” to be inclusive of all of us.
Both are absolutely a gender neutral replasment for Latino because, even though the argument is that “Latino is already gender neutral” is absolutely is not ]

i rly dont like the mindset that all lgbt people want is to be “accepted” and that all out community is about it “inclusion”. no. we want access to trans health care. we want anti discrimination laws for housing and employment. we want marriage equality. we want to stop trans kids from being forced to go by their dead name at school. we want to abolish the gay/trans panic defense. we want to stop corrective rape. we want black trans women to stop being murdered.
being “accepted” by cishets isnt the goal, and neither is being an all-inclusive club. i want to be able to live my life freely as an lgbt person. our community was created out of the need to survive. that has nothing to do with being “valid”.

piper and jason always make sure leo is okay when he’s been working on something for a while. they bring him water and candy and a pillow
there is no ‘mom friend’ because piper and leo can easily convince jason to do whatever dumb thing they want to do (piper doesn’t even have to use charmspeak)
piper and jason pretty much live with the hephaestus cabin. piper sleeps with the aphrodite kids and does a few things with them because she’s senior counselor but other than that jason and/or piper can be spotted in the hephaestus cabin listening to harley talk about his latest project or getting blankets to go sit in bunker nine with leo or-
yeah they’re there a lot.
nyssa loves piper. she teaches piper about engineering and the stuff leo works on and piper makes leo and jason matching watches (with a lot of help from nyssa and harley) that tell them how the other two are doing (think the weasleys clock)
piper really wants to improve her fighting so she trains with leo and/or jason and jason and leo often team up on her. she complains about it but she has to admit she’s improving faster
piper gets really sad on the argo a lot, and jason and leo always make her food to cheer her up. piper always asks why they make it instead of using the magic plates and leo says it’s because it reminds him of their first quest together
leo and piper steal jason’s glasses a lot. they wear them for no reason except to do jason impressions. jason ends up buying an extra pair because his seem to wander off a lot
on the argo they tried to sneak into each other’s cabins but hedge either caught them or almost did and after the percy/annabeth ‘scandal’ (they thought it was funny but) they didn’t really try, but if one of them was on guard duty the other two would make sure they had a ready bed and water and stuff so they were as comfortable as possible
sometimes they go out and look at the stars. piper tells them stories her grandpa used to tell her and they laugh and have fun. it reminds them of their first quest a little, when it was just the three of them.
they have so many inside jokes from the months they spent in bunker nine while leo was building the ship and piper and jason helpedwatched
