For those moving on foot through the city, their journeys may take longer if the same paths are also used by tourists or people taking a walk. In this sense, an action that has attracted considerable attention is one recently implemented in St. John a very busy Liverpool Street. It was here that the first rapid pedestrian pathway was implemented and now hurry people should not go walking among those who do want to go slower. It is differentiated by a red line and the phrase “Fast Track”.
Para quienes se trasladan a pie por la ciudad, sus trayectos pueden tomar más tiempo si es que las mismas veredas también son usadas por quienes están de paseo o son turistas en las mismas calles. En este sentido, una medida que ha llamado bastante la atención es la que acaba de implementar Liverpool en la céntrica calle St. John, la que se caracteriza por ser bastante peatonal por el comercio que concentra. Fue aquí en donde se implementó la primera vía peatonal rápida de Reino Unido para que los peatones que van más apurados no deban caminar entre quienes sí desean andar más lento. Ésta se encuentra diferenciada del resto de espacio peatonal por estar pintadas de color rojo y tener marcada la frase “Fast Track”.

This afternoon I’ve got one of my cactus pin cushions on the table. They all start shape as a piece of flat felt, stitch it together and stuff it with a combination of felt scraps and wadding and obviously a cup of coffee that will go cold before I finish it

In response to the theme of ‘Alchemy’ Woolston presents an installation that places an image of her Orthodox Jewish immigrant great grandparents next to one of Latin Americas largest landfills, skeletal red stag jawbones next to an inter-generationally inherited collection of liqueurs. This is a space of allegory and memento mori, of waste piled high outside a favela and abundant flowers surrounding a cemetery.
