i think it’s so fun how the entire world runs according to secret rules that nobody tells you about

i can’t stop thinking about all the wedding imagery in episode nine. ed and stede standing side by side before badminton almost as if he’s officiating the ceremony. the dual declaration of “act of grace” reminiscent of a couple saying “i do”. ed lifting the white (white!) blindfold from stede’s eyes as though it’s a bride’s veil. and of course the literal contract that they both have to sign in order for it to be valid. a contract that binds them to a new life together. you can’t tell me it’s not intentional.
