Step-by-step for the Game of Thrones fanart piece I made for IT’S ART MAG competition.
I started with a line sketch this time. As I prefer to ‘draw with paint’, I try to keep it as loose as possible while still establishing the general design with all major compositional elements, gesture of the character etc. Once I’m fairly satisfied with the design, I set the sketch layer to multiply, turn the opacity down, and start blocking the general values and colors. I try to nail the composition in the first 30-45 minutes of painting. I gradually decrease the opacity of the sketch layer, till the paint is descriptive enough and the line-work is obsolete. Since the value relationships and colors have already been established, from here on it’s just fleshing out individual elements further, get the figure right and add the flame effect.
So as we now know, Arya and Sansa know who Jon really is and even before Bran told them we saw them being against Daenerys as their queen and that they don’t trust her.
Now, this is something I realized at the very end of the episode when Daenerys and a small group of her people were standing infront of Cersei and her little henchmen. I might be wrong but I noticed something in Danys eyes.
Her eyes are green (at least according to Google because it says Emilias eyes are green) and Melisandre told Arya she would close brown, blue and green eyes forever.
As we already know, she killed Walder Frey (brown eyes) and the Night King (blue eyes).
Now, a lot of people think green eyes mean she will kill Cersei but after watching this episode I have a different theory.
We saw many people questioning Daenerys decisions this episode and I myself thought for a moment “Damn, slow down mad queen”.
Of course, Dany has been through A LOT. She lost her best friend and most trusted advisor, Jorah, lost thousands of loyal soldiers and the man she loves has a better claim to the thrones than she does. Most of her actions are justified. She is hurt and deserves justice, especially now that another one of her children is dead AND her best friend, Missandei.
But still, the Stark girls are not very fond of their queen.
Maybe, it won’t be Cersei’s green eyes Arya will shut forever but Daenerys’.
Maybe she (Dany) will turn mad and do something reckless or maybe it’s just an act of treason by Arya.
It may seem a little far fetched but with what happend this episode, people questioning their loyalty, Daenerys showing a darker side, maybe Arya will think it has to be done.
(I still hope Cersei dies too but that’s a job that can be done by Jaime too)

Saw some Stark headcanons where they were cast as indigenous/mongolian and I wasn’t a big fan of it at first but it actually sort of makes sense bc the Starks descend from the First Men (so aka indigenous ppl) and basically everyone south from them are Andals (aka white ppl) so it would make sense for the Starks and the northmen in general to look somewhat different than the rest of Westeros
Anyways here are the Starklings (Robb, Arya and Sansa), Catelyn&Sansa and Melisandre just because my headcanon for her an Asshai in general is that the people there are east asian looking
(I’m really sorry that their eyes look so wonky I’ve never really drawn indigenous/asian eyes before and I really need to practice)

Davos- I do not judge people for the gods they worship. If I did, I’d have thrown you in the sea before you ever set foot on Dragonstone. Melisandre- I’m not your enemy. Davos- You are my enemy. Melisandre- Was it me you fought on Blackwater bay? Did I set your ships ablaze? I wasn’t there when the wildfire killed our men by the thousands. I could have saved those men. If you would have taken the city, Stannis would sit upon his rightful throne and you would stand beside him. But I wasn’t there because you convinced your king to leave me behind. Do you hear them screaming? All those burning men in the water? Crying for their mothers, for their gods, for help until the moment that the black water swallowed them? Don’t despair Ser Davos. What I told your son is true. Death by fire is the purest death. Davos- (Lunging at Melisandre) This woman is evil! She’s the mother of demons! Stannis- Take him to the dungeon. Lock him in a cell.
