In January I did a fanart of Noel from Mermaid Melody and a fan of the anime suggested for me to draw Sara. I actually did it right away, but I’m only posting it now So I’m sorry for the delay! I tried to draw in manga style. I really love manga, but as for drawing it… It’s not for me I hope you like it anyway.

For this one, I decided to draw Tressa, a mermaid character from Winx Club. It was supposed to be a quick drawing, but I got enthusiastic and ended up spending 3 hours on this

“A girl rescued me. She was singing. She had the most beautiful voice.”

My take on the Mermaid Princess Ariel from the 1989 movie “The Little Mermaid”. She is the first one from the Disney Renaissance era and she was super important for the Disney studios!

She also happens to my favorite since I was very little and she is the one that I used to draw the most back then. I still really do love her and I hum Part of your World almost daily.

New personal piece for me!
I was getting a little tired of all the “mostly blue” color palettes in my Mermaid illustrations so I wanted to try something different with a lot of yellows and golds. I am calling this piece “Sunset Mermaid”.

She is inspired by both Disney’s Pocahontas and Moana, two of my favorite heroines! (Also if you look closely there’s a small hummingbird next to her!).

A gift that I made for my friend Alexa anesthesia_monalisa . She commissioned me to create an artwork of a two tailed Mermaid months ago for a tattoo design and ever since then she’s been reminding of how much she loved it! So I wanted to create a new piece featuring the two tailed Mermaid…… this time she came out of the ocean to say “hi” to a small butterfly! ❤

New#mermaid illustration featuring the beautiful Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel. I’m very excited to see this new fresh take of The Little Mermaid.
Also I want to mention this… I was listening to Halle’s music at some point while I was working on this piece and I must say… she sounds incredible… especially the high notes! She has a very siren-like voice! I wonder if they’ll give her any new songs to sing in the new movie?

One more post for#Mermay. I wanted this one to look like an elegant Ocean Princess complete with a crown made out of seashells. I hope that you’ll like her!

New#Merman arwork for #Mermay. I based him on a character from one of the old early 2000s Barbie movies, he was called Prince Nalu. I used to like him a lot since there weren’t many Mermen characters when I was growing up :D

Hey everyone, long time no see. I wanted to finally share this Mermaid artwork that I started during   March. I am calling it “Siren with Pink Hair”. Do you prefer Mermaids with natural hair colors (blonde, brown) or fantasy colors (pink, purple)? .

Admittedly, one of the side effects of being on the tougher side of depression is a lower drive to create.
Hopefully though, this year’s #Mermay challenge will get me to create something every day! I might not always color it like I did today (using a dusted-off set of #prismacolor pencils) but still! I wanted to start things off on the right foot.

When mermaids go out foraging, they are often accompanied by many eager bunnermaids that are hoping for a snack or two.  They can get a little cranky if there aren’t enough sea blossoms for everybun…
