I think that the Hamiltonmusical is objectively the funniest thing that could happen to that man’s memory. Imagine dying of a gunshot wound infection in 1804 and learning from the afterlife that tweenage girls in 2017 are drawing thousands upon thousands of images of you making out with your fellow congressmen because someone wrote a 2-hour rap opera about you. I like to imagine that Hamilton found a monkey’s paw and wished to leave a legacy, and this is what it did to him.
Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival(2015)
What can I say about this?
It’s a sequel to the short film “The Devil’s Carnival”. A musical with a 500,000usd budget.
I’m torn with this because, the IDEA is so good. It could have been executed so much better and far more well written and it would have been excellent. However, it’s lacking and I don’t think it’s as good as it’s budget could have allowed it to be at all.
This is a movie that I would love to see remade with a bigger budget and better writers and then I’d watch it again but, as is? I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you want to watch something just to pick at its flaws.
I love camp, bad acting and low budgets just as much as the next b movie lover but, this is just …a no.
Listening to the sound track thinking it’s about two friends who send weird quirky emails to each other:
But then you watch the musical and realise the friendship was fake, everything’s a lie and Connors dead:

seeing this show from the 5th row was absolutely worth the 6 month wait. the costumes (OMG THE COSTUMES!!!!), the ladies in waiting, the queens, the energy in the room. i loved being a part of it all. my sister and i got acknowledged by aragon, howard, and seymour throughout the show which was pretty cool. this show was everything i could’ve hoped for - female empowerment, hilarious, filled with bop after bop, incredible vocals/dancing etc. i couldn’t ask for a better birthday weekend and first show back to broadway.
@ anna kendrick: u aren’t the only one still hurting
no more movie adaptions of musicals. the world has evolved past the need for movie adaptations of musicals.
